everything these guys do is worth listening to.....between them they share a giant octopus brain. As Frank Zappa once said; "without music to decorate it, time is just a bunch of boring production deadlines or dates by which bills must be paid.” Thank you JD Beck & DOMi
5:10 and 6:10 chord progression ... definitely hearing some early-mid 70's RTF 'Vulcan Worlds' influence here (my favorite of the post Airto-Flora RTF line-ups and albums. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RycYchunTKc.html But damn, Domi's feet playing Stanley Clarke bass runs? Glad they both also have that same playful vibe of Chick Corea, R.I.P. By the way, to prove Domi really knows her stuff ... I caught her quoting from Bill Evans' 1961 'Nardis' in a bedroom-loft jam with J.D. Just tune in at about 3:00 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oYKwotHRdHo.html
its only intrusive as the stage is really low for a festival this stage looks 900mm or 3 feet high, most festivals stages are 2 metres so camera people arent even noticed front of stage,
i mean if you arent into jazz and lsiten to this, for sure you will say you dont get it, its a far leap from easily listening if its not your thing. I think you need to start with something more mellow and build up to more "experimental" stuff if i can call it that/
@@RadioTheif if we're all honest here, this isn't even experimental at all lol. just great time signatures and young minds doing what young minds have always done... build new lanes
@@jorchcm1 Maybe not experimental but the chords and structures are definitely a long way away from pop music or what you'd hear on the radio. That doesn't make it better or worse, it just means that your ear will find it really hard to enjoy if you haven't heard that type of music before. I never heard much jazz till a couple years ago. I didn't like JD Beck and Domi's music at all when I first heard it. The thing about great artists though is that if you keep listening and give them a chance, they'll grow on you more and more.
