I am driving from West Cork to Longford to see my hero to-morrow night, what a voice he is by far the best singer in Ireland, one of my favourites is Noreen Bawn and also Bless this House what an arrangement stunning..........
I remember as a young girl, watching this song amongst others, on your Tape with my granny over and over and over and over again! My granny passed away now but this always takes me back to the best memories i ever had!
Listen to his songs every day. He's aged along with the rest of us but his songs still bring strength . I love the later music, particularly, "The Older I Get". Whether I need to laugh or cry, I listen to Dominic.
I dedicate this video to a very dear absent friend, Harry Burnell, who I knew as Barney. He lived at the other side of the world but through the internet we did become firm friends, Barney died in October this year, shortly after celebrating his 90th birthday. He was kind, compassionate, witty and a true friend. God Bless you, Barney, I miss you.
This was the very first song i did hear Dominic Kirwan sing that im glad to say i do have on single. I still cant understand many people who tost to far to many things but never Absent Friends. Friends we lost to death or still alive and no longer see.they moved so far away to start a new life. Thats friends for you.
Thank you for your songs, I will not tell my life's story but husband was in VN war, we're married in name only, but every morning I listen to all your songs and they lift me up , thank you for being you and your songs you can tell comes from the heart! Thanks again!!!!!
I have seen him several times in consort over the years first one back in 1995 and some later he is a lovely gently warming guy lov him to bits he likes travelers just like me
Great song, Dominic is a great dancer, give him credit for that, cant say anymore, only replying to this vid as it came up as my number 1, tooooooooooooooo Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessyy
Dominic does a grand job but perhaps dwells on the songs melancholy side too much, I far prefer Scotsman Jack Alexander singing it, as his clear, soaring tenor voice lifts the song making for a more enjoyable listening experience.
