The resident MD on this programme was the legendary Alyn Ainsworth, who conducted 4 British Eurovision entries - including Brotherhood of Man's winner 'Save Your Kisses For Me' - and, on one occasion, the Belgian entry! I can hear the influences of such supreme arrangers as Van McCoy, Thom Bell, Jimmy Webb and Quincy Jones in his work. He has a worthy successor in the form of Strictly Come Dancing's Dave Arch.
Joe is the same age as me, thanks for your video I spent a couple of hours in his company watching his performances and going down memory lane, so sad we wont see the likes of performers like Joe again. Rest peacefully Joe.
I was there...sat at the bar at the back where all the stars were,before the recording of this show....Tom Jones was there also...A fantastic experience..
His Judy is sensational - most impersonators do her as an older woman in the 60s, which is easier - Joe does her in the 1950s when her voice was at its peak and supposedly matchless, but he just matched her here thrillingly on the very biggest notes.
