I watched both trials and it had a lot of suspense in it and like Dominick said eccentric to say the least. Both trials tried unsuccessfully blame Lana for her death and by watching Phil, you can see that he really didn't give two craps about her death. Although he may well be a wicked individual, but he has produced a number of great songs and groups of the late 50's to the middle of the 60's. The song "To Know Him Is To Love Him" has been re-recorded by several artists over the years; I know of a few that had redone the song: The Shirelles, Amy Winehouse, Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and, I think, Linda Ronstadt (sorry for the misspellings). The Ronettes biggest hit written and produced by him was "Be My Baby," which was sampled in Eddie Money's song "Take Me Home Tonight," which was a huge hit for Eddie Money. Phil Spector is a music genius, too bad that he couldn't treat the women he had dated, married or came across with the same dignity as he did the songs. His piss poor excuse to blame the victim is not going to go over well with ANY jury member; I'd like to think that. As one person had already stated (I'm so sorry for forgetting your name), what did he think was going to happen when "playing" around with a weapon? Someone was going to be shot one horrible day/night and, sadly, it was Lana that was brutally murdered by his own hand not hers. I know that I may catch hell for this but it's a rarity for ANY woman to commit suicide by placing a weapon in her mouth and pulling the trigger, because they don't want to be seen in that condition and it has to do with vanity. Plus it does NOT make ANY sense that she meets this man for the very first time, go back to his house, forcibly I may add, have a drink or two then go roaming around to look for a weapon and commit suicide in this man's house. Like Dominick stated that isn't plausible at all. I truly miss watching this show and seeing Dominick's sweet and lovable face to "report" on the horrible crimes that wealthy people do. He had done this show while in severe pain and no one can notice it. RIP Dominick now you're with your daughter and wife.
Way before Phil Spector murdered this woman, his Wikipedia page said that he had a coffin in his house that he threatened his ex wife with if she got out of line. After I read about him, I remember saying that I'm surprised he has not killed anyone yet. His Wikipedia article is clean up now.

RIP Dominick Dunne. I always enjoyed watching Power, Privilege and Justice. He seemed like a thoughtful, intelligent person, and it was interesting getting a view from someone who lived in the same social strata in which the crimes were committed. As for Spector? Spector's revolutionary methods in recording and production wouldn't and couldn't have happened without the technology which was suddenly available around that time in the 60's. Compression techniques and machines, etc... new effects and ways of mastering, recording, engineering... but of course those inventors and even corporate investors aren't given any credit today.

Though you may be correct in some circumstances, you're not correct in all. Differences of opinion among experts can also be based, and usually is, on the weight given certain facts, on the interpretation of facts and so forth. The reason it's considered expert testimony is due to the fact that the witness is very experienced and knowledgeable about how to interpret particular kinds of evidence. It's not always about the "human condition", for which I think you may have meant greed?

I was initially pretty disgusted with this video....not because of the video itself: but the history it conveyed. I shut the video off...and it took me three re-visits to see it all. The narrator is pretty well versed and articulate (although I don't understand why he didn't actually LEAVE that bathroom)....but that's not the problem. FIRST OF ALL: I definitely agree that Spector had a lot to do with advancing the music of his era....and those of us that grew up in the sixties and seventies reaped the benefits of the musical directions he encouraged. I definitely think the current generation's music could use an "ear" and an advocate like him....but that is beside the point. Alcohol and/or benzodiazepine withdrawal is marked by tremors. There's something called the kindling effect which occurs when you repeatedly administer ethanol (booze) and then withdraw which makes each subsequent withdrawal more intense just enough, to whatever degree. It can get to the point where a 65 year old binge drinker or alcoholic of whatever variety might have 2 beers and then die of a grand mal or "tonic clonic" seizure as they're now called. Spector maybe wasn't treated by a psychiatrist during the trial, and was advised to quit all drinking by defense. Even if a psychiarist gave him a benzo like Ativan, or usually Valium, Librium, something long-acting it wouldn't be enough to stop the tremors given how much he drank for how long, supposedly. I don't think he was guilty, though for what it's worth. Or that he is, rather.
Was the victim's hand's ever tested for gun powder residue? Was Spector's hands tested for the residue? it seems more likely that the victim did in fact accidentally inflict the harm/damage to herself-as for putting a gun directly into the mouth would be a bit difficult for Spector to exactly measure right between her TWO FRONT TEETH, as he couldn't have HELD a GUN so STEADY while so DRUNK to have been so precise to have done this to her-I can see him possible close to her or near her when it happened-and some blood spatter on him from a far-but if HE'D been TOO CLOSE or CLOSE enough to have done this to her-he would have had FAR MORE blood spatter on him-and a thicker more blood-from being close point blank range.
