Guy smashed the Cadillac windshield in an open display of disrespect to Carmine and Sonny shot him. Then he walked up to him and shot him again while standing over him. Ruthless and like a stone cold killer. That's what Roy was turned into by Nino. Nino nurtured it and allowed him to use murder to further his goals. Roy's success was Nino's as well. He was getting a piece of a huge pie that Roy created. He was pissed about Cherie Golden, until he found out that John Quinn was telling her everything. Suddenly Nino didn't care anymore and he made sure that Paul wouldn't care about it either.

Vinny is from the Bath Beach neighborhood in Brooklyn. That neighborhood is a breeding ground for young men who are Gangster wannabe, or NYPD, Fire Dept or other civil service jobs. You pretty much know who your friends are aspiring to be. So you're either in the life or your not. You don't go punching some old guy, after you made crude disrespect comments to a woman in a neighborhood like Bath Beach. If you survived a car bombing in Bath Beach, you never return to NYC if you have half a brain. The minute that Vinny put his hands on Nino, he signed his own death sentence. There are plenty if not most politicians who are psychopathic by nature if not definitely narcissistic. Our whole system of government is based on the State having the right to kill you and getting away with it. Think about it you get a warrant to appear in court or ticket or whatever and you forget. The cops are coming to get you unannounced and things could and easily do go wrong all the time. The threat of violence is what gives ours and all governments power. The mob is just an illegal or alternative government. They are all corrupt.
