Because he was a drug addict and they felt he would not hold up to police pressure. They were correct. I obviously don't condone what they were going to do, but let's not pretend that Nino would put a contract on his sister's son over some minor violation, much less mere paranoia. That is the real story.
@safsa awe No he left town owing a crap load of money to a member in another crime family and left it to Nino to try and straighten out the problems. Dominick wasn’t a member of the Gambino family, he was just an associate. Yeah Nino would’ve probably loved to kill Dominick for the mess he left behind in NY when he couldn’t handle the problems he had created. Much like his friend Danny Grillo that Dominick told Nino was out of control and would probably turn informant if he was pulled over for running a stop sign. Which he knew by telling Nino that it was going to send Danny on a ride in a garbage truck to the fountain avenue landfill.
