It's not the anxiety it's withdrawals when the xanax and other meds starts wearing off, yea anxiety comes with it but not always, and anxiety can still kick in here and there on meds
This is really raw stuff. He is basically self medicating and one of the leading things that turn people into addicts. That’s a lot of Xanax he was taking.

I don’t get to read all the comments. But seeing this one I need to respond. We shot this footage in the early 2000s . No you tube !!! Dom was living with me and wanted his story told in full . The good the bad and the ugly . We made a documentary called Lynchpin of Bensonhurst. It’s on the internet on many platforms. Don’t dare insinuate I was taking advantage of Dom . He was my close friend and what we did , we did together . Yes we need to make money with our film and content . That’s how the world works!!!! Dom was my partner in this and wanted people to understand how he suffered from ptsd and the life he lead . Period .
Used to judge ppl that experienced anxiety thought it was bs in their heads til after a few concussions started experiencing it. Having a nervous breakdown getting lost in my own neighborhood. The old saying have to experience something to respect it
Anxiety is a fucking nightmare, I drank alcohol to make it go away and It did ..temporarily, but then bam out of no where wake up in the middle of night in pure terror and need to drink to take it away again what a vicious cycle I feel for anyone that has this shit believe me I understand and your not alone.
I really felt for Dominic here..Ive been struggling with benzos for 30 years and ive been doing great for 8 months but thats all i think about is getting some..I mean it can be something as just watching that footage and it can sway me..Trouble is when youve got them its like it quiets them inner demons back into its hole...For a little while and it comes back and you repeat and repeat and your addicted before you know..mans at peace now r.i.p big chap He seemed a good dude!
i was hooked on it for 2 months. harsh memory loss. i would take a full bar a day and when i withdrawled omg it was horrendous. I got good will power though i had a bag beside me the whole time and 3 days of hallucinations and 9 days with no sleep i never caved. would never ever take them again and no desire. i feel bad for people who can't control their urges for it because i would never wish that withdrawl on anyone
Bezo is harder to come off you have to taper go from high to low doses . Was on 2 mlg and doctor lower to 1mlg. But only I take only as needed. 8 to 14 lorazepam that would kill me.
Sad thing is I know how he feels. Especially when I was on Suboxone before I totally got off of it thank God. Took about 3 1/2 years though to wean off of it I just remember the whole battle with pharmacies, meds, etc..
Now ive watched this video this hits close to the bone.... I understand totally where hes at here.... Peaks and troughs and the troughs are hard goin and you reach out for anything to get you through... When my meds get fucked up its horrendous... Worst thing they ever did to me was put me on oxycontin and sertraline... when your missing your meds its pure torture... I really feel for Dom here... Luckily for me i have my own rock solid Ross' looking out for me. Im happy that after all the treachery and double dealing in his life that he got to find Ross Brodar and others who genuinely give a fuck about him.

Ya health system well what u call a system is half your problem most all drugs r well not legal but 4 time a warning then warning upon and we have a great methadone program that's not every one boat but it's there if u ha e pill prob 1 course on pain clinic then what u want of any Dr but the pill r like Dom was saying if u use them a script won't cash till the maths correct spelling lol add up so that one up to u My problem been on the methadone 40 years as Asia is a 3 flight but that's years ago then Prison half me life so use the methadone easy lagging then end of the day champ would of passed on the drugs Hope u don't carry addiction champ Enjoy stay safe ..
Dom is such a junkie.. Xanax doesn’t come in 5MG pills. But to take 8 2MG Xanax Bars a day is straight up insanity💯🤦♂️ even for hardcore junkies 8 bars is a ton and if he was constantly running out that’s really bad news bc you can’t stop em cold turkey especially if your doing 16-20MG a day. I bet he would have seizures ALL the time 🤦♂️ Bars cost $12-15 on the street in the Detroit area

He was probably in a black out most of the time😮 I had seizures from withdrawal and I was taking a lot less then him. He could definitely die from withdrawal and should be hospitalized.
He means .5 mg, the peach-colored ones. The blue ones are 1 MG. And then the bars are 2 or 2.5 mg. Anyway, they are highly addictive and turn an already troubled person into a slave. RIP, hero!!
This is a totally difference side of him. You could do a third documentary if you have the footage of showing what he delt with on a daily basis. I wonder if the hit’s haunted him, betrayal and so on.
I read Murder Machine for the first time last month (I know, late to the party) and Dominick’s story really gripped me. Hope he was able to find some peace before he passed. RIP, Dom, and thank you for your service.

I can relate. I take Xanax to deal with my anxiety and panic attacks, and not having your script is the worst thing in the world. You literally feel like you're loosing your mind.
I’ve been to rehab for Xanax. Xanax withdrawal is fucking horrible. By far the worst I’ve been through and I’ve suffered through oxy, heroin, and fentanyl withdrawals in the past. I can tell you it works great for debilitating anxiety. Fantastic drug for what. But coming off was a nightmare for me. I got lucky- some people suffer seizures coming off it and can these seizures can kill you.
Yeah that is a ROUGH combo for sure. Especially the amount he was taking a day. I doubt he ever kicked either of them either, in fact I’m pretty sure that he didn’t- and I don’t really blame him.
@JoeBidenIsTrash Yeah I think Xans are pretty much THE worst substance/chemical/whatever to come off of for sure. Speaking from some experience on that (came off of Xans/Methadone but not alcohol)
The man’s been through hell, I’ve been on Alprazolam 15 yrs light dose but it’s tough to come off of, incredible nightmares . I always have take at least a small dose. Dom is right . R.I.P. 🙏🏻
Say hello to PTSD. Did some research on Mr. Montiglio and his stint in the army. He was special forces Vietnam and long story short he survived a three day hell that almost no one else survived. All his friends were killed or most and he survived. He said "no didn't take 8 xanax yesterday i took 14". Ha, i thought he was going to say I only took 5 or 6 but he went the other way and said 14. Yeah he should've been talking to a therapist too. I mean it might not help much but it's something. You do whatever you can. But I don't think you could've ever talked him out of not taking drugs. It was the only thing that made him feel ok. It's tough man. No easy answer or way out. but I'm sure you being around him helped him out a lot.

I do the same with my anti-psychotic and adderall, I use one to balance the other out; that's something doctors don't understand, their regiment of how they want you to take the meds could be way off

Alprazolam is the name of the ingredient in Xanax . So I’m kind of confused. Xanax is just a name brand Version of alprazolam. Just like Percocet is oxy/acetaminophen. Percocet is just the name brand of the company selling them. There is a bunch of different brands that make oxys . Percocet is just a name
I think Dominick is confused. Alprazolam is the generic for the brand Xanax. Same medication. And it’s not an antidepressant; it’s a benzodiazepine, which is anti-anxiety medication. Pretty wicked stuff if you’re not careful with it. And I’m told it makes some people really high - akin to cocaine. I’ve taken it but all it did was make me a little sleepy. I’ve never understood the attraction but some people love this stuff.

It’s not an anti-depressant per se it’s a benzodiazepine sedative. If I was in the mob I’d be in a constant state of anxiety all the time! Afraid of messing up and being whacked.

@@gennerobootz6490 benzo’s and alcohol effect the brain in a very similar way. They give benzo’s to people who are withdrawing from Alcohol to ween them down.
Granted he has seen some things that haunt him. But I've seen him laughing about whe. They squash a man's head like a pancake.. addicts use excuses when they can.. using the "vietnam" excuse could just be an excuse he uses to get people off his back about it because it's something he has probably used for a long time.. it's just an addicts excuse.. go to therapy and listen to your friends.. you can't lie to yourself dom.. hope you get healthier. They should of have given him diazepam aka Valium Xanax is too much you forget things become very irritable anything can set you off on a tangent you forget where you place stuff

So Dom may have been buying some pills on the street to get him thru the gaps, as would’ve been the norm at the time when someone reached the “damn, my script only lasts me “20 days now, not 30 😢” of addiction. Xans/Oxy/YouNameIt was readily available- and a streetwise guy like Dom could easily sniff out a connect. Who knows. Wish he hadn’t been taking that shit anyways, but I understand why he did.
yeah but some people with actual panic disorders it makes them normal. But there is no doubt tolerance builds up and some people are almost forced to have to go through life like that, which sucks. It is weird how it affects people differently.

He is dealing with intrusive thoughts and not just suicidal ones! These thoughts can come from deep trauma or OCD in hes case i guess it is the trauma and all the fed up situations hes been through!
Okay first of all I know Dominic has passed away and my condolences for that but having had a brutal Xanax dope habit and by the way when you mix the two if God had a better feeling he kept it for himself but that feeling comes with a shitload of putrid baggage and I really think that Dominic was putting too much emphasis on needing the shit to basically live and get the thoughts of suicide out of his head and like I said I've been there and I also kick them both at the same time cold turkey and I should have been hospitalized but I wasn't and I had some weed so I just smoked that and basically didn't eat or sleep for like nine days straight and my blood pressure was through the roof I started to hallucinate a little bit I got real Dizzy and it was just fucking brutal but we don't need to depend on all that garbage to live I mean yeah if you are prescribed Medicine by a doctor we should take it as prescribed but as soon as you start going off the deep edge and gobbling up 8 or 10 a day when you're only supposed to take three you are basically digging your own grave mentally and physically and I know Dominic story and I know what he's been through and yeah it would fuck anybody up but we don't need to go overboard we don't need that shit to live and I really think that Xanax should be fucking outlawed because it is highly addictive and in the beginning it's just fucking great but after a while it's not great it's horrible so if anybody reads this and they have themselves a little Xanax habit or they're taking the generic form which is called alprazolam I really recommend you start with your doctor to start weaning yourself off of it and if you don't have a prescription for it and are copping on the street and mixing it with dope well you are playing with very hot fire and you are going to go to sleep one night and you're not going to wake up or you will just go completely fucking insane and end up in an institution or you will commit crime to get the money to cop whatever the fuck you need to get high you will end up in prison which is what happened to me and after prison and after parole wouldn't you know that I had to stick my foot in the water again but like I said I did kick the shit and I also kicked dope at the same time and it was really fucking bad I mean really really fucking bad and if anybody out there going through a Xanax and or dope addiction do yourself and your family a favor leave that shit alone and get back to living I guess I kind of rambled a little bit cuz I just smoked a fat one peace
