Same thing happened in my home town (franklin NJ pizza murders). Some punks robbed a gun store and two days later ordered a pizza to an abandoned house. They killed the restaurant owner and his worker who he was just giving a ride home because it was the last delivery.
My uncle was murdered delivering pizza for Domino's as well. His killers have never been caught. Stay safe out there, everyone. RIP Sherry Eyerly and Paul Hillick. I'm sorry you both had to go through this.
Never deliver to areas you're not aware of or comfortable. Well lit. Never deliver to back yards as people often request. Never deliver to hotel rooms, have them meet you in the lobby. Always have an escape route. Always carry a weapon. There are pens that are made as self protection if the corporation won't let you conceal carry. They even necklace's made for self protection. Someone you trust, share a location tracker on your cell phone. I/E a brother, sister, husband, wife, etc. Head on a swivel at all times. RIP to your unc and sherry.

Who in the world could be so evil as to plan a murder of a pizza delivery person male or female, you can never trust anyone, I think at anytime especially at night 2 people should be together for delivery.. I hope he gets the death penalty and it still wouldn't be enough, Hell will keep him in it's grip for eternity

Yeah it's crazy for sure man! I'm glad they now verify an address so drivers don't deliver to a non-existent address. This case had a few similarities to the case in Pennsylvania except the delivery driver I think was in on it and got blown up by the bomb
@@InfamousCrimeLocations. I remember that story about the delivery driver being blown up by a bomb strapped to his chest. They authorities found out it was an inside job and they managed to link the suspects shortly afterwards. It was an interesting and intriguing case to watch.
That poor girl. Such a devious, cruel plan. I can’t imagine how frightened she was. How did they solve it? Through DNA? And you didn’t mention how she was murdered. She would be my age today, and instead she got robbed of her entire adult life. She never had the chance to have a career, get married, or have children and grandchildren. Just horrifically sad and terrifying on that desolate road.
I know right!! No address, no pizza is how I see it. There are always exceptions of course but I think that's why they now confirm an address before dispatching a person out

Quite honestly thank goodness addresses are confirmed on the phone!! It's such a shame that an individual can't deliver a pizza without getting attacked!! People are insane!! So heartbreaking!! It's like she disappeared into thin air!!
@@InfamousCrimeLocations that isn't the first person who has been attacked on that park trail if I'm not mistaken there was a college student who got killed on that trail a few years back. I know because I live in this erea and go to this park every day.

In my youth I was a pizza delivery driver. This is a case we always talked about and why there was certain safety precautions in place. This was just senseless.
I remember this! We lived only a couple miles from this place at the time right off River Rd South Salem. Been down there many times before this ever happened. For awhile many people avoided going there that use to hike or walk their dogs for awhile due to the fear of it happening in the area. While others just went to look at the crime scene area. It was a terrible thing to of had happened & for a long while there was so many stories of what happened & where her body was. RIP Sherry.

Lisa I did too. I least I think we are talking about the same case. However, I thought in this case, a psychic was involved. After the person figured out that the psychic knew he did it, the suspect committed suicide before he could be questioned. I don't know.
@@robinwagner3293 I don't recall the psychic but I do recall the show. I thought the guy was already a suspect in this and another case. Cops were going to arrest him and found him dead of suicide. Maybe he did kill the other girl.

Hi Harmin, another tragic case. It’s probably difficult but I would like to see males drive to these isolated places, must be 6ft 4in and weigh at least 200lbs. I remember this very well I went to school with her I believe that the year is not 1982 though I believe that it happened in either 1978 or 1979.We were all devastated that she went missing so sad. May she rest in peace finally.

How terrifying for that young girl. Imagine 40 years ago, driving down that dark, desolate road....no Google Maps, no cell phone. Nothing. Humans can be so depraved and repulsive to hurt someone this vulnerable. R.I.P. Sherry.
Can't even imagine being a young woman making a delivery in such an isolated, desolate location. I remember another incident' also in the 80s, where a pizza delivery person was killed while delivering to a motel. For the longest time after that, pizzas would not be delivered to hotel rooms, they would only deliver to the lobby, maybe that policy is still in effect, I don't know

I know cold blooded murders can happen regardless of your job but I always think about these pizza delivery drivers the most every time I pass by them for this reason. It's just so scary and too many evil people still here. I'm so so sorry for her family's loss. I wish justice would be served and her body be found so that she can ri.p.
I totally agree latasha. I feel that delivery drivers have way more potential for danger since each stop or house is a big unknown. You don't know who lives there, what they are capable of and more importantly what their intentions are when they ordered the pizza

I nearly had a mental breakdown in a sense because I literally went around in circles about 4 or 5 times on that connection road and the park nearby but couldn't find it. Finally I did!!👍🙌💜
I heard about her on Unsolved Mysteries and never forgot her. I had dreams about her case as the mother of two working young daughters. It took me awhile to watch her case again.

I grew up in Salem and recall this case. Her parents owned a car dealership which explains the ransom demand; although I never had heard this was a kidnapping/ransom case. I vaguely recall there was an episode of one of those unsolved crime shows about her in early 90's (IIRC). There was a previous suspect in her and another girl's disappearance but he committed suicide just before they could arrest him. So apparently it wasn't that guy after all. Anyway, at the time, that road led to a big landfill. The park you we're walking around in was much smaller back then. As you could see there are no houses or structures anywhere in that area, nor were there at the time. One of the big mysteries at the time was why she drove so far down a gravel road that only led to a landfill. She was an experienced pizza driver so she must have known the area. Glad you posted this. I had not heard about the confession. It does seem odd though that the creep would confess to a murder but not lead police to the remains. But how much time passed I suppose memory had faded. And probably too much time has passed for cadaver dogs to help. So sad they never found her.
