Anyone who has played enough pool would know that the way that cue ball spins off the cushion is quite odd and unusual

Lol, I knew right away that something wasn't right. The conservation of momentum doesn't allow that cue ball to come off the rail faster than it came in.

Definitely had me questioning a lot and I play pool all the time... like ain't that much draw with spin in the world that could make it go so parallel 😢 I almost cried like I need to practice 😂

@@thepoolcoach sticky tape is meant to stick, how did the sticky tape accelerate the cueball. Can you explain the physics behind it?

@@ruskyhrahsel7723The ball is spinning fast before it hits the tape/cushion. When it hits the tape that spin pushes it off the cushion, its speed in the new direction is compensated by the loss of spin speed. Or, to think of it another way, imagine if you held a static ball against the cushion and spun it very fast with whilst in contact with the cushion. The ball would run off in the direction of its spin.

My original reaction is... ¨How?¨ My reaction after knowing it was STICKY tape is... ¨How, How, How???¨ Physics people please explain!! sticky is meant to stick, not to bounce... Might be an idiot but I´m just not getting it.

The sticky part of the tape is stuck to the rail the side of the tape the ball hit is smooth 👍

@@DesktopPanda96 I'm pretty sure this is just sticky tape as double sided wouldn't work it would slow the ball down instead of it speeding up like it does

@@Psalm7326 I'm pretty sure this is double-sided sticky tape as the guy who made the video points out the type of tape at 1:56. Also, the blooper at 3:20 is not consistent with regular sticky tape.
