A full-size spare and a proper transmission. Big positives!

Great review. Im totally on your side. The speed limit alarm thingy is enough to put me off. We're looking at 3 SUVs, including the Seltos. I hope Kia make an announcement real soon about a software update to get rid os the speed alarm sound.

The safety features can all be turned off on my ‘24 SX, and it stays off. Car is fully customizable, with profiles for each driver. Strange.

Drove a Haval Jolion and the speed alert dinged once then just flashed on the dash, unlike my Mazda cx30 which is the same as this. That was so good.

Very good review. Could you also come to Canada to review our line-up of Seltos, we only get the AWD, which makes sense...

Although this is a very attractive unit for my purposes the inability to turn off the safety alerts is a deal breaker for me. Mostly I find that these alerts make things more unsafe by being very distracting and irritating in potentially critical situations.

Im leasing a seltos 2024 It has its pro's and cons. Pro's : Easy maneuvering,spare tire and tools,good on gas,and perfect size for parallel parking,pick up speed quick.Cons: I only use sport mode,when trying to parallel park while cars are riding by me does car seems to have like a third brake and it stops on its own in the middle of parallel parking and that I don't like,still reading up on how to shut that down if possible.Getting in and out of the car itself is tight not comfy ,no elbow room or room in the front console especially under radio and still wont charge my phone on the wireless charger.Sometimes it pushes itself outside the street lines instead of keeping itself inside where the car is supposed to be.Will be turning it in after 36 mths.Not a keeper,happier with my 2009 honda crv.🤷🏽‍♀️

I've been driving it for a year now, TBH I don't find the speed limit alarm an issue, I really got used to it and don't really recognise it anymore. The major issue for me will be the gas consumption...

So a little birdy at the dealership told me that they are working on a Kia/Hyundai-wide update to enable volume control of that annoying speed alert system. Thank god because I’m very close to selling my 2023 Seltos facelift. I love EVERYTHING about it but I absolutely cannot stand that alert system. It’s doing my head in and makes commuting stressful. Just DING DING DING all. The. Damn. Time. Kia/Hyundai FIX THIS ASAP or I’m going to Mazda. Edited: for spelling errors.

Bingo! Didn’t buy a Seltos or a Kona last week for this exact reason. Mazda CX-30 sitting in my driveway. Much better fuel economy too.

@bjcee 2L mild hybrid 7L per 100 around town. Not a real hybrid but saves me a few litres per tank. Didn't cost any extra either.

We have this exact car, the engine is awesome, the transmission definitely requires tuning. It gets a little unsure about what gear to select. It’s a little hard to ride in but overall fantastic car.

There is actually an easier way to turn off the speed warning assist, and to be honestly, I think now I already get used to the turning-off procedures 😂

@user-le3nb4hj8d 6 месяцев назад
If you are interested, here is the procedure
@user-le3nb4hj8d
@user-le3nb4hj8d 6 месяцев назад
1. Ensure lane keep is displayed in the cluster. Long hold the 'OK" button on the steering wheel until the below screen appears on infotainment screen. 2. Select 'Speed’ 3. Select 'Off'
@peters5155
@peters5155 3 месяца назад
Problem is, you need to follow the 'procedure' every time you start the car. Having said that, we'd get use to the constant 'turn off' procedure.

I’m constantly agog watching reviews of the Seltos with comments on the beeping safety systems. I’m about 2.5 years in with my Seltos and, I don’t know if it’s a tech glitch or what, but honestly it’s fired probably less than 10 times in total whilst living in Melbourne’s inner suburbs. I’m perplexed, live between three primary schools with tonnes of speed signs.. very weird. Otherwise a great little car, delivers about 6.7L/ 100km since ownership, wish for slightly more supportive seats but otherwise more than happy.
@chasingcars
@chasingcars 8 месяцев назад
You’d be perplexed mainly because your Seltos, being 2.5 years old, isn’t fitted with the latest generation speed warning system. It’s completely different!

I'm tossing up between the Seltos and Eclipse Cross at the moment. Looking at the price tag, power and tech specs for the Exceed, on paper at least, you didn't the Eclipse Cross dated at all? I love the styling, but the tech and smaller storage seem several years behind for a higher price.

I just bought a new Volvo xc60 and Seltos GT Line. I like both cars. Visually I'm going with the Seltos but for execution of the tech the Volvo wins by a mile. The Volvo gives you all the same warnings but it's done way less intrusively. Even then though, in the Volvo, you can turn stuff off and it stays off! Now, before someone tells me the Volvo costs a lot more, well that is true, but I don't believe this is a cost driven matter - the ability to turn down those audible warnings in the Seltos has nothing to do with $$$ - its just the way Kia designed and it's a flawed execution.

Modern Driver Safety tech is very annoying and distracting. I'm surprised ADR lets the tech be implemented to this degree. Having pissed off and annoyed drivers is not a good combination.

Looks to me like all the new cars are annoying. As for gas mileage, it seems poorer than a V6 used to be. The good old days of V6, inline 6 or V8 cars are fading away. I recall looking forward to advancements in cars. Every decade we got improvements in engineering. Now we have DI, CVT, turbo 1.5 LT engines, cameras which watch you, more cameras to brake and steer the way the cars sees fit to do, and the expense of replacing glass then recalibrating. Wait for the day those large monitors fail. They want a fortune to replace a back-up camera, so how much are the dash screens going to cost? Look at those stupid covers on headlamps milking up. Thank goodness, my nearly 9 yr old Fusion has pretty clear headlamps still. The only modern annoyance on my car is the fatter A pillars. It is mostly just a great car otherwise -- no junk added to nanny me.

I have a 2 week old seltos and my NUMBER ONE requirement was good fuel economy.... I'm sorry but Kia lied, these don't get 34 on highway, they barely get 30 from what others say and mine is getting at best 24 on the highway . and no, it's nothing I'm doing ... the mpg SUCKS and I'm already thinking about trading it in for something else next year. highly disappointing for an almost $30k SMALL SUV

Coming from f150 the gas milage is impressive. The car rides comfortably. The car has more than sufficient hp and keeps up with the traffic. The warnings can be turned off. (at least here in Canada). The 1.6 turbo is nice to drive. Where else would you get heated and ventilated seats, power driver and passenger seats, sun roof, power liftgate, AWD, rain sensing wipers, auto dimming headlights, and many other features for under 40k? if I wanted to get more features, more room, and better ride I could easily spend andther 10-20k for a volvo or lexus. Kia is excllent 'bang for the buck'.
