@@Bocsaphoto I still dont want to edit all my photos everytime. Plus Sony JPG colors suck. I just shoot in the standard profile with Nikon & Provia with Fuji. The colors are simply lovely SOOC.
@@Bocsaphoto also not everyone likes to edit their pictures everytime like Sony users makes it to be. Sometimes we just like what we get out of the camera.
You are so "not thinking about the x100v at all" that you made a video telling us that you're not thinking about the x100v...... at all..... 😂😂😂😂 you sooo want one 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Took the words out of my mouth. I don't have time, money or interest in editing my photos. I wan't the best I can get without putzing around in an expensive program. Also, back in the day with film photography, other than photographers who developed and printed their own film, NO ONE edited their photos. It was all dependent on the skill, equipment and film stock the photographer used.
A7c overall is a More solid and capable camera than X-100v because of the full frame sensor and incredible video capabilities, however the draw the the x100v is more linked to the built in flash, fixed lens system, film emulations for jpegs, overall complete street camera package. They are just two completely different cameras for different things
Other fujifilm cameras give 4k up to 60fps with the looks you like on fuji and the f-log so , it just serves more than being a street photography camera
lol I bought my x100v for $1100, that a7c setup was probably around 2k. why would I pay more for something larger and doesn’t have the beautiful Fuji jpegs?
The allure of the X100V is the retro look, dials, compact, weather resistant and film simulations SOOC. The A7C does not give the retro look, only exposure dial but you probably could customize some buttons, weather resistant but it’s not light and compact, no film simulations and even with that lens you can’t fit it in your pocket. Also to edit photos from a travel vacation is the last thing on my mind. I’m on vacation not a paid work job. Like some of the other comments on here, two different cameras that fill different roles.
I just got a A7C after wanting one for quite some time. After 2 days I think It is a fantastic camera even with the kit lens! I got the metallic top one. If I had another $1400, I’d get myself another one, (the all black one this time), not the X100V! 😮. If I really come across some money I’m getting the A7CR!
Here’s the thing, the big thing people miss ALL the time. It has a pancake lens…. Your Sony camera has a lens which sticks out approximately 6-8cm. People buy the x100v largely for its compact size, not just the aesthetics. Sure if your confident you can edit photos etc.. but in order to edit a photo you need a camera with you… I simply wouldn’t carry a large camera due to its not portable… x100v fits in my coat pocket and it’s not awkward. I’m sure there’s a saying along the lines of you miss all the photos you don’t take, some times you need convenience to take that dream photo. Thanks for reading my brain blurp. Will
I don't want to lug that in a dedicated backpack, unattach and reattach the lens whenever I need to take it out. X100 fits in the pocket of my small purse or a large winter jacket pocket. It carries just like my cell phone. Your camera does not. Biggest advantage fuji has is portability.
No optical viewfinder, for some street photographers is a must i heard. Also no leaf shutter, built in nd filter and no dials from what i can see on that sony.
You cannot get the Fuji look. The same way you cannot buy a cheap video camera and mimic the color science of an arri alexa in post. It’s tons of engineers who have worked on those filters for years
Yeah, this is called the Fuji-Killer setup for the Sony a7c (someone made a YT video with this title). And I agree to a certain extent, because I built mine with 40mm, lens hood and a7c, works like a charm. But there is no getting around the fact that the X100V was the one that got me back into photography...a year after I'd been using the Sony for Zoom and biz. I love both, but the Fuji inspires.
i think saying " its not that hard to edit raw " is missing the point of the x100v and other from fuji, its the simple fact that you don't need to edit, or not as much, is that from inside your viewfinder or screen you can see pretty much the finished product, your creativity can spark there, directly and instantaneously
thanks, i have pro cams but im not bringing out my pro cams on dates, reunions. my x100v does all of it and the people i take a photo of gives me genuine expressions that my FF cameras can never capture. it isnt about how fast i can edit or slap a preset its about convenience knowing the photo is already super good before even exporting. oh yeah best thing ever? i can just slide it in my wife’s handbag LOL.
Purpose of this camera is an everyday shooter for casual life moments + travel. I bought mine for travel. Best believe when I’m on a holiday I’m not gonna be wasting my time editing hundreds of these casual photos - I’d rather enjoy my holiday and live my life. If you’re doing professional/serious creative work though, pick up a full-fledged camera.
While I get that, editing on holiday might be something other people like to do, so this youtuber is a bit of a knob because he doesn't realize your POV.
Damn why are you so offended? Bro just said why he doesn’t like the Fujifilm, you don’t have to agree. But it’s I’m honestly pathetic if you get upset over his opinion
@@alebo0 lol you're the one writing me a 14 page love letter cuz u agree w me. Lol but I'm the pathetic one. Ok internet tuffguy. Whacha gonna do?? Belittle me some more?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🫖👜🫖👜🫖👜🫖👜😉
@@alebo0the whole point of the x100v is that you don’t have to edit your images though, and he just drops „it’s not that hard to edit your images“ wich makes no sense
Honestly, there are a LOT of options out there that come close, if not better than the X100V (and most recently launched VI) - we are in a peak technology era, where any camera from the past 5 years are amazing. It all depends on what your needs are, your style and what you like to shoot. There is no one-size-fits-all camera, regardless of what anyone says.
How about going through like 6 film stocks straight outta camera in live view and having something you want to carry around with you? It’s crazy magical
Hm.. “anything the x100v can do” ? Your camera doesn’t have leaf shutter or built-in ND though does it? Can you get your edited raw look Straight out of Camera? Because that’s the point of shooting via film simulations; so that you don’t have to edit in post. Thought that was pretty clear
There isn’t really an argument against the x100v if it fits your use case. The main thing is availability, but if you’re patient you will eventually get one. Just don’t reward scalpers behavior.
The point of the X100 series is to get out of the idea of doing post. Maybe you crop. Otherwise, get it in the frame, make sure it’s exposed, let the jpeg renderer do it’s work.
Does the Sony have an OPTICAL rangefinder with overlays, including an optional electronic window for focus checking? Does it have full, simple manual controls? Does it have a built-in ND filter? These are the primary reasons I went with Fuji, plus the aesthetics of the camera itself and the film simulations and recipes.
I considered the A7C but based on specs and price, the R8 was a better option in terms of a compact full frame. Seeing that there are rumours of an announcement for the A7Cii, it might be worth reconsidering it. But I like my Canon. 😆
@@Eyeofkamau Fuji camera jpegs are typically blown out of proportion on how good they are. TheCameraStore did a jpeg challenge between all the camera brands and Fuji did not come out on first. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FRQpueEvb-U.html
That camera is not compact , you can put the x100v in your pocket plus the main thing about the x100v is how good the photos come out from the camera with no need for post processing.. I think you just didn’t get the whole point Of the 100v
It's not hard to edit photos??? Yeah sure you go on a trip take 100s of photos now you have to spend hours Infront of computer cause you shoot raw Nice
It's actually not if u just think about using a decent work flow. Pick your favorites/keepers, start with preset base for all photos, then copy and paste settings for similar images/scenes. Takes like 30 mins at most for 200-300 images. Let's be honest only like 50 of those hundreds will actually be keepers. In the end you get your own unique look as well instead of using a fujixweekly recipe that's really just classic chrome/classic neg with WB that's way too warm (which I see too much of)
A7C doesnt have inbuilt flash, doesn’t have the dial availability, and the inbuilt flash is a pro imo. Furthermore the menu setting on the a7 series sucks ass.
@leetmango Sony is revered and makes a majority of the sensors for the camera industry for everyone except canon. So uh. Yeah. Fuji's sensors are made by Sony. Which is where the magic you love about Fuji happens.
Having owned an older x100t, for me I just feel more inspired with the Fuji. I argue that some of my best work is shot on a Fuji crop sensor because I shoot more candid environmental portraits. Sick a small camera lets me be in the moment and my fingers know the goals from when I was learning to shoot. The camera also doesn’t distract the subject. I have shot Nikon, Canon, Sony, but I love the Fuji. Feeling good with your camera matters too.
There's no comparison, it's two completely different cameras, a fixed lens and an interchangeable lens. There's no better camera, its personal preference. This is like comparing an apple with a banana, its pointless! Also, your video just attracts a bunch of people who want to argue in the comments. There's a difference between healthy debates and arguments. This is not healthy, but whatever floats your boat!
Agreed. I sold my x100v shortly after a few outings with it as i didnt think it was worth it for me. Oddly enough i also bought an a7c with the 40mm 2.5. Also LOL at the square hood, can i get a shutter release for my a7c? 😂.
I sold my A7C. Who the hell wants to edit 100 ARW files when you can have 100 perfectly acceptable classic chrome JPEGs with no modifications needed. You see a lot of Sony owners longing for Fuji. The opposite is not often the case. You’re clearly still longing for the X100V.
no way a sony engine can render colors or be edited to replicate the exact same tonality as an xtrans (fujifilm’s engine), you can get close with time and expertise don’t forget fujifilm’s a company that make film color stocks however considering how inflated the x100v is, an a7c kit would be better bang for your buck, but other and newer fuji cameras that are cheaper could also produce similar or better results as the x100v
for the price, you get A7C with a 28-60mm lens would be a much better deal than X100V. however it all boils down to your preference, lots of people buy X100V for its aesthetic build and color simulation, which can be done with any software.
I disagree. It's not that simple to replicate every one of Fujifilm's film simulations on an edit. You buy a Fujifilm X100V for the experience, every photo you take doesn't have to be brought to a software and processed before you have to publish it.
@@flickdavidsadventures366 u do know fuji takes pictures and a preset is applied over that fuji call its the film simulations, its just easier to have the film look without any post processing and straight out of camera but if you dont mind post processing with preset in lightroom, you can easily replicate the film like looks LOL
@@CigarettesAfter126 That's wrong, the sensor in the Fuji is an X-Trans and not a Bayer pattern sensor. Also the image processor is very important for the colors. It's not just a preset.
@@sema1motorsport the X-trans filter array actually has very little difference compared to Bayer. That's a misconception many of us fuji users like to throw around. The heavy lifting is all done by the image processor. It's literally just a preset. Input RGB values go into an algorithm, processor spits out new colors based on the operation. That's it.
Bruh some of us don't even want to go through the editing process even they know how to edit. Editing for minutes to leading to hours and you get a photo that's like completely different from when you're shooting that photo... there's a reason people buy Fuji and it's the SOOC experience is like the best in the camera industry and all the film simulation recipes people come up with that are so good that you don't to edit anymore
Honestly, if you do not use the optical vievfinder buying any x100 series cameras is a waste of money. People would get more bang for theyre buck with xe4 or any Sony camera.
Homie makes a valid point! I have a Sony a7r2 and it is amazing! I even have some vintage lenses with adapters for fun film look. Love the setup you got
