It’s an absolute steal at that price. I was able to get a s89c for 1600 open box at Best Buy and LG would’ve costed me literally a thousand+ more. Can’t compete against those prices
@@5urg3x I got mine in February and have had 0 issues with it. 77” of OLED greatness at 1600 with manufacturer warranty is hard to beat. You Should look into it
I agree but Samsung usuaually break their firmware before that or sometimes even at real ease with qled and local dimming. The S90C is one that kept it a little longer but now got firmware issue, Black Friday is nice but need to be up to date on firmwares buying TVs. It is sadly a reason these things happpen.
i dont have a issue with this cause i know the woled 48 inch is fine. i have a lg 48 c1 and can not have another lg tv due to one remote controls both lg tvs so im fine
As someone who sells these tvs for a living, I can tell anyone that is completely up to personal preference. Most of my customers prefer the 90d because of Panton validated colors making them look more realistic, on the other hand people like that more neonish colors of the LG oled. Again, personal preference. I have both, and for me, as someone who uses my oleds for gaming and content consumption, I prefer the s90d. All are great options though.
Yep, S90D looks more “natural” vibrant colors and clear image. When compared to other high end tv, the other tv looks over saturated and black crushed to me.
There is still issue with S95B, C and this one with TV and dual monitor setup, when u turn off tv when u hear click sound from TV it disconnect second monitor, and when u turn on TV it turn on aswell.
I updated my firmware on my s90d and lost 300 nits of peak brightness. Samsung up to its usual tricks. Wait for the initial reviews to come out then nerf. The windows hdr calibration app initially showed 1150 of peak brightness and 1 week later it is down to 850 nits
Can an S90D owner please answer this question??? I would really, really like to know how "youtube" looks on the 77" S90D. (I watch 70% youtube and 30% Netfix or other streaming service)
Agree. And this is coming from a 55 S90D owner (got on paid review). The only real “updates” are a bit brighter out-of-the-box & better UI. Still same exact Gen 2 panel at 55 & 65in. 77 S90D *may* get Gen 3, time’ll tell.. If so, that’s the TV of the year imo, hands down. You can easily buy a S89C/S90C & get the same Gen 2 panel as the current S90D. Here’s the kicker: If you go into the service menu, you can tweak some settings to really max out brightness. So much so that the S89C, S90C & S90D are practically identical. Personally getting 2k nits peak brightness & around 1300 on 10%.
Samsung S90D “77 great picture in fact fantastic picture HOWEVRR, mine died in 54 days, they are replacing it but I know 3 other people that have been thru multiple in under 90 days. My body has had 3 replacements in under 90 days all “77 s90d. First one was DOA the other 2 shut off on its own and were dead. Mine, shut off while watching a movies and that was that, dead. They really need to fix the issue before having people buy a top line television and having it die in under 90 days. Ridiculous.
I think this reviewer is full of it. I bought an S90D 65in for 1599 today. The TV is freaking awesome. Its my first time having and OLED for gaming. It looks the way I always dreamed games should look. And also my is not WOLED, all 55s and 65s in US are the same.
Any update on gaming with the S90D using a Nividia Graphics Card? Rtings noted it had issues above 120fps "duplicates parts at the bottom of the screen".
So the samsung S90C and the S90D - 77" are both on sale here in Australia. S90C is a guaranteed QD-OLED whereas the S90D has the whole panel lottery with high chances of it being WOLED. Which one should I get?
You say the S95D is downgraded but im actually considering it because reflection glare and birghness is a big concern for me. Glossy screens are horrendous where i currently live.
Samsung came into the new year thinking they had best tv/ panel in the bag again this year - didn't feel the need to bother competitively pricing against LG. I hope G4 wins tv of the year this year so we can have a very exciting 2025 lineup
Samsung usually discounts half way through the year with all their big electronics. Also though the pre order bonus in non US markets were pretty good.... Canada got a size up offer, so the 65" for 55" prices. The 90d and g4 arnt in the same price range, and the s90d is still better than the c4
Best Hamburger in the world is worth nothing if someone puts nutella into it. Same with TVs, sharp and clear reflections destroy every glossy coated TV picture. Some people don't even realize that their picture turns into BS if sun is out or someone turns on a lamp. They even brag about their new super-TV and I am just stunned cause they don't even care about the huge reflections. I am gonna buy the S95D, picture quality is more than good, low to no reflections and it is brighter than any other OLED with its 1700nits. LG doesnt seem to care much about anti-reflection, mirrors no thx! If I want to shave my face I go to the bathroom...
Same problem I got with LG, I’m too sensitive with reflection where QD Oled really made a step forward, looks better than the qleds in my opinion but guess where tv is set up. Laughed about the burger, moved too a country where they sell chocolate pizza 🤣 Not my cup of tea 😊
@@PaulWinkle did you get the S90D? Yes I do agree with you, I find it insane how people can deal with reflections on various TVs, not seen this years qled but it’s been a quite colorful experience when I test them before or visit people. LG keeps being a no no, I enjoy a tv I can use both in light and dark, have no idea why Samsung changed their coating from 2018, it’s utterly bizarre when it worked so well. I’m looking for a new tv after moving country and for me seems only option is S95D, I wouldn’t mind save some on S90C but through the last 9 years I locked in my firmware fairly early when I see the tv won’t peak more, really hope it comes laws soon against the tv “update” policy. Too risky buy a S90C not knowing firmware and it be first tv I would buy that late so I feel I be doomed doing it. Just trying to figure out if the 65” is QD here and not woled, seems 65” is universal but they really over complicated things this time. Be hell of a lot easier being in Norway and just try different ones and ship back what I won’t need. Would prefer have a tv like the S95B without need of do all the damn mods, same could be said about S90C when it came out but I see issues been coming. If you got the S90D now, how you find it vs S95B/S90C? (I put both as they pretty much identical).
The S95D runs way too hot and as such will more than likely not be long lasting also the reflective ability is not as good as the S90D there are tos and fros but the recent drop in price of the S90D makes much more sense.
This guy sucks, according to him the S95D isn't good cause of it's matte coating. THAT'S YOUR OPINION!!. I like the matte coating cause now I have almost no reflections.
Still in my return period for my G2. Returning it and getting a G4 is seriously tempting. How much better is it? What sticks out in particular compared to the G2, except for peak brightness obviously?
@@jul1anr1k brightness booster is amazing. Color accuracy, detail in SDR upscaling, game mode is wonderful. But the star of the show is still the brightness. I’ve never squinted watching an OLED score lol, but man some of those bright scenes in shows like Shogun and Invincible are eye-watering and it’s amazing
Our last LG OLED lasted just over 3 years. Multiple boards just died and will cost about $1000 to replace. We paid $1500 for the TV in 2021. Of course the warranty is 3 years and we missed it by 2 months.
Bessere Preis, Verarbeitung, guter Halter inclusive, bessere Software, Dolby Vision. Meine Zimmer ist 40m², Entfernung 5,5-7,5m, mein aktueller TV...65" Plasma vom Panasonic.
So the samsung S90C and the S90D - 77" are both on sale here in Australia. S90C is a guaranteed QD-OLED whereas the S90D has the whole panel lottery with high chances of it being WOLED. Which one should I get?
I need some advice on which led display i should get. It will be mostly for viewing content. My space is limited, I can only fit up to a 42" size. The 2 most important features to me are low resolution upscaling and motion processing. (I'm very sensitive to stutter) I'd really appreciate any help.
What a stupid comment. The LG C4 And Samsung S90D 42” and 48” all use the LG WOLED display. That’s a technology that amplifies the panel’s whiteness. QD stands for quantum dot, which is vastly superior to WOLED.
@@christopherarocha92 I had the 48” of both as a monitor and took them back because I couldn’t justify the price. You can get a great QD- OLED monitor for less.
I have the Samsung s90c 55-in I got it 3 months ago I wonder if it's a second generation panel without having to go in and mess with stuff to find out but I love my TV I haven't had any bugs not one but thing has been running amazing I think I just got lucky I guess
I would have to agree with the Display guy, the difference between the 90c and the new 90d is slight but the price difference is huge between the two panels. The 95d makes sense if your going to place it in a bright room with a lot of windows 😳
Both TVs handle reflections well and can be used in daylight as long you don’t have a window straight behind but even there the D serie or oled not the best. I wouldn’t worry with B, C or D in this regard, here I find the Qleds actually being worse.
I'm currently trying to decide between the LG G3, Samsung S90C and S90D. Any opinions? Will be mainly used for streamed video via Netflix/Disney/RU-vid/Kodi.
Not buying any damn oled tvs at all who will have time to baby sit a tv just not to get burn in or image retention negative and these tvs are not cheap I think for the money you spend you shouldn’t get any of those issues
If you google s95d vs g4 rtings and scroll down to color volume you will see that apart from pure white light the s95d has literally double the brightness in every other color compared to the g4
You got a great tv and improvements since 2022 are still very low in gain (S95B/A95L) and not worth it for G4. Depending on firmware I think you be fine for another 2 year, don’t think we get a miracle next year neither beside the tiny improvements.
where can we get information on the panel lottery? is there a way to know if past or worst versions have been removed from circulation? I though this was an issue only with the cell phone screens
Back when the 3DS XL came out, even those had a panel lottery. You either got an IPS top screen, bottom screen, or both. If you were very unlucky, both screens were just awful LCD panels.
Hello everyone! I wanted your opinion regarding my current situation of S90D So basically, I got a really sweet deal on the S90D 77" which was here on HUGE sale in Middle east Saudi Arabia for around 2300$ which is super nice for that price! I used to have a Sony x9000h 75" but decided to upgrade, anyways the issue is I just found out after making the purchase and awaiting the delivery that there is some sort of panel lotteries specifically in the S90D lineup that you could get a WOLED panel in that TV. After extensive research I have found out that my TV is going to be WOLED and not QD-OLED in Saudi Arabia which was a bummer to me honestly. Nevertheless, people were saying i'm going to have blast either way since i'm coming from a regular LED TV and I agree. But I wanted to take your opinion guys regarding this, since after seeing the comparisons between WOLED and QD-OLED that the colors are SO much more vibrant and nicer in the QD-OLED. so should I return the TV and get the S90C for the same exact price or should I just continue with this purchase and it's going to be nice still? Keep in mind that the only S90C that is left that I can take is the one displayed in their store, and it's in the same exact price of the S90D that I'm getting and it's brand new, and in that case I would be guranteed a QD-OLED display since I think that there were no WOLED panel in the S90C lineup. Appreciate you guys for reading this and taking the time, anyone's opinion is welcome and looking forward to hear from you guys! Love from Saudi 💙
Look the same lol.g3 is significantly brighter than c3 plus c3 has too much reflection...modded s95c n even s90c are the best tvs by far..havent checked g4 yet
