Social media is great for a lot of things, the problem is that people are boredd with their lives and don't really know what to do other than be on their phones, I consider myself guilty but it's great when there's an awareness surrounding this. Sometimes it's automatic when I grab my phone, but I quickly realize and put it down immediately because I know I was just going to scroll right away. I find it amazing that you're using your voice to remind us that it isn't healthy, because sadly, this is so normalized, and someone (you) had to step up and say: hey guess what you are addicted to cheap dopamine and it isn't normal. Soo this is great!
Josh, you are so good at this, grabbing attention of the viewer right away, communicate with a compassionate tone, speaking right to the viewer. You have an original voice, whatever career fields you go into, or whenever you try to achieve something you should really use this ability, talent, skill you've curated, or whatever it could be called.
I hope you know this video really shifted my perspective and my relationship with social media. For the past couple months, I’ve been trying to be more creative with these platforms and use them as a creative outlet and at times I still feel very discouraged, but watching something like this it’s amazing. you truly have a way with words, and I hope you continue to grow so others can see your message. So glad I was open to this information. I tend to just delete social media whenever I notice I’m wasting time in them, when ultimately I should just change my relationship with social media instead; in order to educate
You don't “have to” make social media productive; you don't “have to” be there. I left instagram and X months ago. It's not like firewall decision, I may log in, it's rare now, because I naturally don't find any reason to, unless I want to mess around or waste my time. There is no divine reason for me or you to be there, unless you make a living. Everyone wants attention, validation, nothing wrong with that, but it's a rat race, in your subconscious you postulate, “one day I might....maybe this could happen”, that markets you into using it. I got some good buddies, we would send shit posts to each other on social media, now we waste time on calls, everyday 😂 And I am fine, there is no addiction, it's just that you reinforce unhealthy consumption and you feel like there's something wrong with you, because you waste your time and things get overwhelming in your because of it. I only use RU-vid now, won't say my life is very productive now, it kinda feels the same, but less of the toxicness. If you feel toxic, you need a change, act on it.
