I got to say looking at these wedding dresses I don't fully get why the Western white wedding dress has such a strangle hold on the world. The more I look at traditional wedding dresses from other places the more I'm just like that's okay but it does not scream goddess in the way a lot of traditional dresses do. 💚

@@crptniteAs an ex-catholic, Priests can be married, but only if they were married before becoming a priest and they can only have married once. Priests are consulted to recognize your union within the church. Since marriage is a sacrament, recognizing it within the church is important. Priests aren’t really consulted with on marriage advice unless a couple needs to know how “god feels” about their argument or something. It’s not a common practice outside of confession or anything like that.
Firstly, your parish where you're getting married will often ask you to do a Marriage Prep course that will hopefully be run by a married couple. Not necessarily a priest. Because often married couples can give better advice about marriage than a priest. Secondly, if you do "consult" a priest, a good priest (and yes we know, sadly not all priests are good) but a good priest will hopefully have enough general life experience to share helpful advice with you as you prepare for marriage, and will at least know the potential flash points for a difficult marriage (money, views on having kids or not, big differences in how you want to raise them etc) to be able to talk to you about them before you marry. The priest who married us took us through a list of the most common reasons for divorce and encouraged us to talk through each point. It was a chance to make sure me and my fiancé were both on the same page before committing to one another. Our priest didn't need to be married to know that list, but it was helpful for us to talk through it as part of our Marriage Prep.
Cuz most adults are working 40-60 hours per week ,plus commute time. Add car maintenance time. They don't have energy for building marriage after that.
Chinese should get married like ancient times again... I don't know why they have adopted white weddings 🙄 Just like India...they should have stick to their real wedding outfits. We have such gorgeous clothes & wedding ceremonies. Thankfully India still follows thousands years old tradition of marriage 🙏

Thousands of churches, temples and mosques were demolished at that time. Maoist ideology is dangerous. They still demolish remaining mosques of Unghyurs muslims. I didn't see anything in the original comment about religion though? Anyway, yes. Indian brides are all so beautiful with so many lovely traditions around the marriage. The white wedding style of marriage costs do much money without actually being much of a celebration for the bride herself, or even the family. Thet tend to be more stressful while having fewer events, with a strong pressure to look perfect from the outside with much less concern about anyone actually having a good time at any point.
