I have been using the paper that you pulled from the cardboard as my paper stock. I know that it is brown but if someone does not want the brown they can always paint it with some inexpensive paint and then decorate as they desire. I am on a very tight budget so I use what I have. I ask family and friends to save their boxes for me and I take a day and pull the boxes apart. The piece of cardboard that you used to make the lines are also useful as a page. Just stretch it out and it works just as good. It gives your page a texture and dimension different than regular card stock and I like the weight of it all. I just thought that I would share that for someone who is starting out and do not have paper/card stock to start creating junk journals-happy crafting🙂💜
Cool! I like the bubble wrap. It reminds me of a honeycomb. I'm making a junk journal but I quit making it because I'm stumped on how wide I should make my spine to accommodate for the bulk it will have after decorating it. How wide do you think it should be? I have two signatures a total of 24 pages with mostly heavyweight paper from a paper pack I got from Hobby Lobby.
Oh it does resemble a honeycomb 😊 the bubble wrap is my favorite way to make background pages. If you have thicker pages you might want to go a little bigger than normal bc depending on how much you decorate & add to the pages it’s going to expand a lot. I have 12 regular paper weight pages & I should have made a 1 & half inch spine. I wasn’t really planning on doing something on every page so mine is a full alligator mouth now. Lol For 2 signatures of thick paper I would probably go with a 2 or even 2 & half inch spine. Also you could make a mock up 2 inch spine cover & just lay the signatures in there & see if you have lots of room available or you could always decorate the pages first & add it to a spine & cover last, so that way you know that you have plenty of room. 💗
@@deeanna3335 so funny! 😂 I do the same when I’m watching someone’s video & they can’t remember a word, & then when I’m recording it never fails I’ll get fog brain & can’t remember a word that I just said a second ago. Lol 😂
Junk is treasure, l loved your ideas,l noticed your blouse had lace cuffs that you could ink too, l shall look at things in a different light thank you.
That’s so funny, & I love this bc that lace is actually from some of my boot socks that I ripped up, tea dyed & used in a journal & then some of the left over pieces I made into cuffs & sewed them onto this sweater. Lol 😂
Oh that’s so cool! 😁 I do have an instagram but I’m never on there bc I always forget about it & I don’t really know how to do stuff on it. Lol 😂 But I was kinda thinking about making a Facebook group so everyone can share pictures of what they’ve made.
