Excellent video! Personal takes-I understand why it's not shown here, but the followup on LS is great for starting a toothpick into a carousel or similar combo. In terms of heavy swords, I prefer c.H instead of j.V; just for me, it's more reliable, more damaging, and allows a quick followup into a V2 if you want to be nasty (and don't think they'll parry it).
I was pondering parry combinations and then this video arrived. Perfect timing. I find that using Bonetti's defense can also be helpful in these situations. Bonetti's defense is a technique developed by Italian fencing master Rocco Bonetti. Inigo recognized that Westley was using Bonetti's defense against him during their duel at the top of the Cliffs of Insanity.
Just started playing two days ago and this is so helpful. I was stuck on the Spear for quite few minutes, and the problem is I keep spamming my mouse click. Thank you! Just subscribed!
@@ChefOfTheDeadsorry for necroing this comment section, but I was wondering if you had any specific suggestions for dealing with those players that never seem to fail their parries? I find it hard to get a combo started in general with light attacks, and I think I rely too heavily on spamming focus attacks and ranged weapons
Well, when all else fails, just don’t throw any focus attacks and go for light attack combos only, which would of course mean practicing up some combos and getting more consistent with them. Overholding is good against people who like to parry too, don’t just throw the focus as soon as it’s charged, hold it longer and try to release after they parry
