@@petrasrunless you watch a lot of movies and play a lot of games then yes but in all seriousness, 64gb nowadays just doesn't cut it because almost every app is more than a gigabyte.
I have the iPad mini I use it as my e-reader and for journaling as well as for watching TV with my mom sometimes. It's amazing I know some people think it's too small for that but it's better to travel with and since I have a large laptop already the iPad mini is the perfect compliment to my 13in. Laptop. I highly recommend the iPad mini if you already have a large laptop or phone and want something that's portable.
Will take this into consideration. I have an iPhone Pro Max and an Asus Vivobook laptop with oled screen and still I'm confused which of the two I should get.
@@quchi7232 depends on your usage if you need something for light work or need something portable ipad mini is the way to go. If you need something a bit bigger to do some heavier work that is cheaper then go with the ipad 10.
If you can use the smaller display, the Mini is amazing. I feel as if it’s the best “iPad”. The rest try too hard to be computer replacements while the Mini acts as a perfect and portable tablet. I loved using mine for about a year. Switched to the 11” M2 iPad Pro since a larger display is much more comfortable for notes. Love the Pro, but the Mini definitely feels more like a tablet.
I had one. Hated the small text on apps and websites. The way the mini is setup from apple to use and show different websites and apps like an iPhone does is totally different. Hate that you need to manually zoom in to read anything. It’s definitely different than an iPhone. Do larger iPads do this too?
Personally I love the iPad mini 6, it’s a great workhorse whilst traveling and out of office, and different time zones, and I’m happy that nowadays MS and Apple works together to find the best possible work environment, just saying the Microsoft Office 365 app for iPads works seamlessly with what I have on my laptop 👍👏
I purchased an ipad 9 and unfortunately it was not as i expect and need: heavy and too big (and support only apple pencil 1). I gave it to my little sister and she really loved it. she loves to draw/design and its big screen is great for her work. I purchased mini 6 in the next months and love it so far! it is great to compliment my mac and iphone 11 for my use. work that need bigger screen (and mostly serious work like coding), i will use my mac. for notetaking, reading, will use my ipad mini. and for most communication, camera, more portable entertainment (like when commuting), can switch to my iphone. different people may have different perfect ipad based on their uses, so one should choose wisely
Great comparison 🔥 I bought the iPad mini 6 a couple of days ago, it is serving me the way I planned to use it for: reading , designing social media posts, consuming content, gaming. Surprisingly the iPad mini 6 price in where i live (Iraq) is $440! (Brand new)
I have an iPad Pro in the house and owned the 8th gen iPad. Replaced that with the iPad Mini 6 in 256GB. It’s a long term tablet for me and for the price I’ve already paid for it in use has covered the value many times over. I will probably stick with the iPad mini and it’s future replacements in the long run. Will keep the Mini 6 until it’s no longer viable.
Just got the Mini and I can’t believe I allowed so much time to go by before finally getting one. This little thing is such an amazing piece of tech. Performance wise, I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and the Mini is just as responsive, literally no difference at all. Using my Mini for every thing I would normally use my iPhone for, from gaming (COD Mobile/Warzone) to content (RU-vid, Netflix ex…), making and answering phone calls (cellular version) and much more. I have always wanted a slightly bigger screen for all these things but did not want to walk around with a 10 inch tablet. Now of course I don’t use my Mini to replace my Mac, I bought that thing for a reason, but I did get the Mini for its portability and boy oh boy does this thing deliver. I don’t regret getting the Mini over the 11inch Pro I was browsing. Thanks Tech Gear Talk for providing such a detailed comparison between the Mini and other models. Oh, and using your (buy it nice or buy it twice) I went and got the 256gb Cellular. No regrets! 😊❤
Why not using the iPhone Pro Max? I have an iPhone 13 and I'm thinking about either getting an additional iPad mini or replacing the iPhone with a Plus/Max Model
Watching this from my ipad 9th gen. I think better on smaller ipad which is easy to hold, when playing games your hand not too tired when you hold a bigger ipad and heavy, easy to carry around or when you go out, you can carry in a smaller bag, i got this bulky ipad sometimes hard to carry around but i love my ipad for watching movies. Depend on how you use it.
I have the iPad mini 6 since i traded it from the 11 inch iPad Pro, and haven’t looked back. I actually prefer the mini now. It’s perfect in terms of reading and writing, and I use it for streaming and gaming as well. I think it’s great for illustrator as well if they prefer a smaller display. If they ever do a IPad mini 7, I think they should adapt the internals of the Pro version into it to match it, but the Mini lineup is very underrated
I have a mini and still have an iPad 9th gen. I don’t use a pencil much, but can use the Logitech crayon in the rare event I feel like writing. Thankfully, there are also cheaper keyboards for iPad than the Magic Keyboard, whose price I can’t justify. Again, Logitech is my go-to. I’m not affiliated with them or compensated in any way-I think they just deliver a great product at more sane prices. I may trade my 9th gen at some point but may wait for the next/11th gen. If I need to type using the mini, I have a Bluetooth full size keyboard that works, but I normally use it for consumption as I use a regular laptop for work.
The iPad 10 is $600 in 🇨🇦 vs. $450 for the iPad 9. A $150 price increase does not seem reasonable for the same storage, same pen and a non-laminated display. For this price increase, Apple should have bumped the base storage to 128 gb. on the iPad 10.
I would point out that most people use the iPad mini in portrait mode, especially since there’s no first party keyboard for the device. I wouldn’t want Apple to move the camera to landscape since that would be weird.
Well for me I love to use the iPad with an external monitor and the Apple keyboard and trackpad if I want a more desktop feel, and. Just unplug when I want to leave and use it as a iPad.
In India the cost get fluctuate as we go through different sites. Amazon or Flipkart available iPad 10 at ₹40,000 = $489 and iPad mini at ₹46,000=$549 (approx) I gonna get iPad 9 at ₹33,000=$399 Should I go through iPad 10 with this price
@@sugarplum8888 I just gonna say that wait a bit for iPad mini 7. You won’t regret it later, yeah if iPad mini 7 is gonna launch after a year then probably go for mini 6. Use it for couple of years then switch to other ones. But don’t get iPad 10(warning)(Alert)…
I’m now on my THIRD iPad mini (Gen. 2, 4, and now 6), and I ❤️ this form factor! Not everyone will be able to do this, since it depends on their life circumstances, but I use the iPad mini 6 as my daily driver. I’m usually on wifi, so I don’t need a robust data plan, and bought Mint Mobile’s lowest one (4GB for $15/mo.). I have Bluetooth headphones, so phone/video calls can be answered remotely. For my daily basic needs (email, calendar, reminders, podcasts, music, RU-vid, browser, photos, alarms, etc.), the iPad mini 6 can do it ALL! What I love is that the screen is big enough to see most things that don’t require much detailed viewing, yet is light & portable (I’m a female who uses a smallish crossbody bag). I love not needing a smartphone! I have a 2-in-1 (HP Spectre), if I need a bigger screen and capabilities that this mini-tablet doesn’t possess. For the right user, the iPad mini could easily be their go-to for potentially EVERYTHING, if possible. If Apple didn’t deliberately leave out certain features that one would have on a laptop, I’d just have a separate screen and keyboard to use it on a desktop.
My main reason for minis is resell value. Minis seem to hold their value much longer than standard iPads like the 10. Used iPad 10 sells for as much as a used iPad mini 5 while a used mini 6 still sells for as much as a new 10
If you want something that's easy to take with you and has a great display, then the iPad mini might be a better choice for you. On the other hand, if you want a bigger screen and something that's a bit more budget-friendly, then the 10th generation iPad could be the way to go. Ultimately, it's all about what works best for your needs and preferences! I got an iPad Air 5th Gen with a student offer. In India 🇮🇳 , The iPad Mini starts at ₹49900 ($605.96) yikes!.. Whereas the iPad 10th Gen is about ₹44900 ($545.25). iPads are very overpriced here in India.
They sure are! I’m planning to buy my first ever iPad, and just seeing the prices is giving me a headache. And deciding which one to get is super confusing as well!
@@Geniekyu same here with me , I am confused with all three in India during sale difference between mini and 10th gen is 50$ and difference between air m1 and 10th gen is 100$ , I want a pencil too so these prices are extremely confusing 😂
@@NayagarhSensei I’ve just stopped thinking about it for now. Hopefully, in a month or two the prices will go down? 😭 I don’t really need a pencil but I’ve seen so many unboxing videos that it makes me want to have one so a cheap alternative will do the job I guess 😬
@@Geniekyu if you want it for drawing and editing and for content browsing ipad will do a better job, but for content browsing the cheap alternative will be better with those amoled screens.
I have the iPad 9 that works good for me the iPad 10 is nice but with only Apple Pencil 1 support and have to use a cable or dongle to charge that was the one main reason to skip it and wait for the iPad 11.
I have the ipad mini 5 in 64gb... Still my favorite size, yes the price is hard in other xgb version but I dont need storage 64gb after 2-3 years still running smoothly fully udpdated with many apps...
i'm seriously consider trading my m2 11" for a mini 6... it gets a bit much holding this device all day lol they're a lot heavier than tahn youtubers make it out to be
The selling points of this iPad (10th generation) for me were the landscaped front-facing camera, silver color-way option, and the braided cable-which all of these mentioned the iPad Air doesn't have. iPad Pro would have been too overkill for me and the iPad mini is way out of my league with its small form factor.
If you take versatility and mindful use of technology into account, then Ipad 10 wins everytime over mini because, 1. Dont have to squint your eyes to look at smaller screen. 2.Parallel viewing in landscape mode is better in ipad. 3.Notetaking, journalling, reading - comfortable with bigger screen. 4. Using ipad as a laptop is less cumbersome than using mini the same way. 5. Can place ipad at an eye-safe-distance for media consumption..
A ratio between 4:3 and 3:2 is not possible for me in 2023. For any video we have huge black bars on the top and the bottom. Seems to use a tablet from 2015.
Great video once again, tnx. What keyboard do you recommend on these newer iPads. I know you did a video on keyboards a while ago. Would that still be valid?
I actually bought the 10 first, but realized what I actually wanted was a laptop. I thought it was too cumbersome, and although it was cool, I ended up not liking it much. I swapped it for the mini and haven’t looked back. Love the mini way more than the 10. It’s just way more portable and doesn’t try to be a laptop. I do think it was way too expensive though 😅
I mostly need the iPad for my business scheduling billing and content/ designs an I’m kind of torn between the two even with this info I’m not sure which to go with!
great video as always! for my spouse and I, we decided on the ipad 10 because of screen size. the mini's screen size is too close to our iphones screen to justify carrying a seperate item that does the same thing. not to mention its more expensive than the ipad 10.
Changing my mini for the 10. On,y use it for emails and media content so the big screen is a plus for me. I don’t game or use photo shop type apps. Maybe use to make some teams calls so the landscape mounted selfie cam is a huge plus.
I have the mini 5 and I just got the 10th gen for a discounted price £380 and I’m happy. I get a bigger screen and still get to use the pencil however I will need to get an adapter. The mini 5 just runs out so fast and while I did want the mini 6 the price is absolutely abysmal. Apple overprice things a lot but I’m happy with the deal here.
Personally I only play games, watch drama shows and take notes show that ultimately i’d choose IPad mini although does cost more than iPad even though it has a larger size than mini but I find mini much more flexible to fit into bag; of course if your doing design or game development personally I suggest iPad or better get an iPad Pro max 12.9inch
I am from Poland and I will give you the prices of basic configurations from the official apple store in Poland : Ipad 10 : 2899 zł it's 653,44 $ Ipad mini 6 :3199 zł it;s 721,06 $ 😭
I was struggling and thanks to you and this video I set my mind to the iPad 10th gen. I am in Poland and iPad 10th gen is 2899pln and iPad 6 mini is 3199pln and it's with tax included
I just don’t understand the point of such large iPads. I have a MacBook Air 13”. Why buy something that’s just a bit smaller? I can watch movies on my Mac if I want the larger display. And I don’t think the iPad is much more portable than the Mac. I will buy the mini mostly for drawing and reading
I’ve never owned an iPad, but I have used tablet devices and I must say I’ve never liked the idea of a gigantic laptop like screen on an iPad. The mini is in my opinion better at being a tablet/iPad. Although the 10th gen is a bargain.
Hi, here in Switzerland 🇨🇭the prices are 569 CHF (around 609$) for the iPad mini and 499 CHF (around 534$)for the iPad 10 - the taxes are included already in the prices here
First of all, portability is very important for me. I can carry it even in a medium-sized bag, ( Freebag ) which is a great convenience as someone who is constantly checking and trading stocks and cryptocurrencies. And of course to check my social media, RU-vid and e-mails. I can also play games like CODW very easily. iPad 10's portability can be quite difficult.
@@TechGearTalk I’m totally aware that apple probably will make next gen even more expensive 😹 I’m forced to use my mini 5 till the end of the world I guess lol
I just ordered the Gen 10 (256) today. Through my wireless service. Cost a bit more than the price you said, I assuming it’s because it’s through a mobile provider. It’s replacing my Gen 5. My 5 has been through a lot… Since 2018, I think. Now I’m using it for work, it wants to roll over and play dead at times. I’m hoping it’s worth the money.
For a high school student, would the mini 6 be better than a budget windows laptop (that's roughly half the price 100 - $200). Minus all of the extra perks that the Mini can offer.
id say go with a laptop, ipads cant do everything a laptop can do. they may be more convenient, but laptops have microsoft word and such, which is used a lot in school, where ipads do not
just go with the laptop, you're gonna need some software that might not available in ipad (in my experience), also, many task may not fits on tablet ability like interchange data with friends, editing documents with ease (some are not comfort using tablet)
Great ipad video .Very informative . I have a I PAD 10 for work we use for contracts and a ipad pro 12.9 for drawing and painting and gaming .I watch your content before I Buy .
I have the iPad mini. I watch movies, play games, take notes with the pencil with it. The reason why I'm looking at the iPad 10 is for the note taking. I love that is has a bigger screen for it. I looked at the Remarkable 2 but mehhhhhh... Also, the fact that the Pencil 2 isn't compatible with iPad 10 is a bummer... Any thoughts guys?
