You can see the genuine love between these two...I remember reading when June died , Johnny died within a year of her passing...the loss was too great for him I think.
ian1patterson Oh yes, the way they looked at each other when June was singing it was just like for the two of them there was suddenly no-one else in the room. I know the cynics will mock, but that was just so romantic.
was blessed to see johnny and june carter and i'm a punk rocker, but my probation officer got me to see them at the nassau colisseum and june was such a magnificent addition to johnny's stuff and i loved it.
Exactly dude, I see young women nowadays and they’re AWFUL…all look fake as hell, same witch like straightened long hair, and they’re all brainwashed feminazis
June Carter was also a gifted singer/comedienne from her 1950's solo days on the Grand Ole Opry, so Rickles knew she could roll with, great Opry clips of her elsewhere on RU-vid, doing some shtick, then belting out a number! Of course her family were music legends going back decades earlier.
This is the year I was born and also in March Love Don rickles he still got his jokes in, telling June to hurry up and start.. lol 😂 This is an interesting group
I wondered how Don Rickles would be with them, and here's a clip of them together. Incredible song by June Carter Cash. Man, she whipped out that auto harp!
R.I.P. Don Rickles April 6th 2017. There will never be another talent like him! It's moments like in this video at 7:36 that made Don the special guy that he was. Always knew the right moment to step in.
He went to my county, and a lot of the big old funders donated to get Rickles over there. He tore into everyone. They were not expecting his brand of humor because they just thought of the old days as clean stuff, so a lot of them left, but a lot also stayed (obviously because they loved him!) He spotted a African American woman in the front and said something like My black daughter, why are you here? He unfortunately never came back, but he still lives on RU-vid even if deceased!
mike goes, i love to get my back scratched, don goes, june, would you get started? now i know what johnny goes through. so love these guys. don is a king
During the 1970's The Mike Douglas Show was one of the four big talk/variety tv shows, the other three were The Merv Griffin Show, Diana Shore and The Tonight Show hosted by Johnny Carson.
Uh, maybe not here but I saw him totally bananas on both the Mike Douglas and Merv Griffin shows, actually much funnier than most of his Carson appearances because the producers would just let him take over, on Mike Douglas he would often be a co-host as they always had so he had far more license to let loose, and Merv Griffin was the best straight man for him because he totally got his humor and his own role, he was willing to be the object of insult, didn’t break character and knew just what to say to set Rickles off. Whereas Carson for all their friendship ran a tighter ship and usually got more limited results.
Wouldn't it be splendid if every marriage had that much intense, unconditional love and devotion?! These two were the epitome of what God intended for marriage.🥰
@@SD-co9xe definitely points for your reply. No excuse for his unfaithfulness. It seems that he later repented for his infidelity, and made amends with his relationship with his daughters, received forgiveness through his repentance, and fulfilled God's Word of restoration to Him. So....no human judgment here.
I've lived with a few women in my time But I've never felt as loved or needed as I do right now when my sweet Lynette (LENNY) to her family looks at me, holds my hand and tells me, "I love you baby".... I kind get how Johnny must feel when June looks at him. I saw them perform at Festival Hall, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, when I was 17 in 1981
What lesson would that be. Marry a woman who loved him, gave him four children, put up with all his crap. Then walk out on her for an ugly, opportunist no talent ho with an act of being stupid. That's not a lesson I want to ever learn.
It would be great to see the rest of this show. I am a fan of all of these folks. Rickles held back a little with this couple. He didn't bust on Johnny at all. Thanks for this posting.
All of this stuff, whether it's Mike, Merv or Dinah, is absolute GOLD! The truly awful garbage that we have now: Ellen, LIVE with Kelly & Ryan, Kelly Clarkson, etc... is a waste of broadcast time.
Roger--- not really-- there have so many times that RIckles has shown manners and big class.. he is a very intelligent man-- and his timing is super.. whn someone is down or just slow-- RIckles as been gently so kind and respectable...
Lmao. You know nothing of the great master Rickles. Don always showed respect, he never once failed, dropped the ball or missed a beat. Don is surpreme class & no one can hold a candle to him.
Mikeycrzed ... I agree married don't seems to last. I know Don was married for a long time before his death. He always talked about his loved of his life on the tonight show. My uncle was married to one of June Cater aunt, they was married for about 60 years. My uncle mac and aunt Helen loved each other very much till my aunt die.
I never imagined John and Don would be friends. Las Vegas was probably the place where everyone rubbed shoulders, from the most treacherous to the most triumphant, it was the proving ground of 50’s American culture onwards. As much as Don was annoying, you know he had to show respect to John, the closest thing we have to American royalty we have.
The Hinsons live in Hendersonville, too. They became famous when living in Taft, California, just a few miles from Merle Haggard's home town of Bakersfield.
Man June was such a goody two shoes lol i dont mean that in a bad way. She was always so polite and assertive but in a true and respectful way. Johnny sure found a good soul to spend the rest of his life with.
