Yes that is the key to not letting life getting you down. You can always find something good about your life no matter what is happening. In 1974 I broke my ankle and had 6 screws and a plate put in. 2 good things happen, I only had to wash my sox 1/2 as often. I was on crutches for 12 months they wore all the hair out of my arm pits saved on right guard. The world right now is just thinking about all the bad things happening and not looking at all the good that is way more than the bad because the press keeps only talking about the bad and ignoring all the good.

When he was coming up in the business, the people he made fun of lived knowing people would make fun of them and because of our culture they just had to learn to live with it. As time went by, those same people started to believe they have value beyond just being the butt of somebody's joke and with the support of people who agreed with them, started to stand up for themselves. To counter that 'revolution' right wingers came up with a word to describe them.....WOKE, which people like that do when they have no acceptable reasons for thinking or acting the way they do. I am not knocking Don. Due to the entirety of his routine, it is much easier to accept what he says, but in a sense, his making fun using stereotypes such as the interaction with the Chinese lady, is out of place in a world that has, literally 'woke' up to the insensitivity of that type of humor. R.I.P Don.

I found him right after he passed. He was in an episode of Comedians in cars getting coffee with Jerry Seinfeld. Well this was the SNL era where the cast was TRASH, and i believe the last year before Lorne Michaels came back to his reign.. early to mid 80s was just a weird time, a lot of cast turnaround. Eddie Murphy was the best thing they had during this time, until 87-88 when they finally got the groove back.

back in his day "politically incorrect" didn't exist....now that everyone is a victim in one way or another, he wouldn't have had a career. Hope people realize that this woke crap is ruining much of what binded us all together.

@@fishpimp8584 Do you really think it 'binded' us with all the people being made fun of? @fishpimp8584
@fishpimp8584 Год назад
@@normanacree1635 You are precisely what's wrong with society today. It's ok to laugh and not view every word as some type of personal affront. Relax and try to remember everyone isn't always a victim of hatred or prejudice. First of all, he wasn't insulting people out of malice or prejudice; rather, he simply tried to make people laugh and entertain folks by joking about EVERYBODYS stereotypes, imperfections, etc. Obviously, it was well received or he never would have lasted 7 decades or so. Do you think people who attended his shows weren't aware of his schtick? His nickname was the sultan of swat. He always ended his "routine" by saying how much he respected those he was joking about. He may not be your cup of tea, so don't watch. But give me a break with your woke BS. Must be tough going through life so serious. Finally, regarding your idiotic comment about having a warped mind, this country is far more divided today, in my opinion, than in his day due to all the cancel culture and woke nonsense.
