I think you're giving ZOS too much credit. The simplest answer is that ZOS is seeing a large gold transfer and assuming that the player bought the gold. I don't think any of the gold involved was bought. It's almost certainly just incompetence on the part of ZOS....
@@newworldforward1842 ZOS sees a large gold transaction between two strangers. They don't see a return transaction, like a Crown Store gift. So they assume that the person receiving the gold paid real world currency outside the game in return for the gold. Listen to the responses from ZOS customer service: they all imply that ZOS thinks the player that was banned BOUGHT GOLD. Maybe it's because the person buying the carry bought the gold with real money, but it's more likely that ZOS simply flagged the transaction itself as suspicious because it's a (relatively) large amount of gold changing hands between strangers.
Why does anyone even buy gold? The ESO economy is a huge mystery to me, lol. There’s like a few super expensive recipes & style pages, and the houses will set you back around 35M if you want them all, but like… other than those specific items, there’s nothing to spend gold on. Buying gold, and gifting your crowns for gold, make absolutely no sense to me.

@@wynngwynn The same people who won't get a crafting bag probably too lol. I'm casually chilling on between 30 and 90mil gold at any given time, and all I do is daily writs and farm style pages from dungeons when they are dropping.
Their support never discloses the information you ask for; they just have generic replies to everything. The only time I got an actual explanation of an issue that happened to me was when a game dev took over the ticket, apologised, explained what happened and fixed the issue. And that only happened after I left a bad review when asked to "rate my experience with support" when the ticket got closed. I don't know if support is not educated enough on small details, if it's half AI-generated replies or if they just wing it, but from my and my friend's experience, asking them follow-up questions and trying to figure out what happened is like talking to a wall.
Most customer support follow scripts and aren't allowed to deviate from the script, unfortunately some companies take it very seriously and will hard penalize you for not following scripts verbatim.
The only thing that makes sense to me to ban the receiver is if there's some kind of deeper investigation going on, but how do I vet that anyone's gold is legitimate? The only way to avoid it would be to, well, never exchange gold with other players.
I have personally sold nearly 5B gold worth of carries without being in a carry guild (just using my friends list and buyers I find in zone chat on PCNA)(I have never bought or sold gold for real money. I have never account shared for achievements. I have never knowingly taken gold as payment that I knew/suspected was RWT. I have turned away sales when they asked for account sharing or to go RWT before the sale.). If these bans are legit (they could of just been caught RWT and be telling lies to appear innocent) than this could fundamentally ruin ESO trading (I will elaborate) and it will kill carries. What if someone buys $500USD worth of crowns. Sells them for for over 125M and the person who buys them got the gold from a gold seller online. Will the crown seller be banned and or get a final warning strike and the gold taken off them? Just like carries they have no idea where the gold comes from... However... I think ZOS will treat those sales with a soft hand... What if someone sells a Baron Zaudrus mask for over 100M and that gold was RWT? What if they sell it in a guild store and not in a trade window? Do those mask sellers also get a ban? This fundamentally turns ESO into a "no trade is safe, so dont trade" game if they treat all instances the same way... None of the above should get you a warning or a ban... ZOS has lost its mind if they do this... Possibilities... 1) This is legit and the new crack down only applies to carries because they want to stop carries/lower RWTing. If they allow crown sellers to end up with possible RWT gold but nuke any carry sellers who unknowingly end up with RWT gold it would be the end of any hope of a good relationship between ZOS and its players. It would be abundantly clear they care about money and not the players. 2) The players in the video did or knowingly took RWT gold and are not telling the full story. Aka carries are still fine if you dont break the rules. 3) ZOS lose their mind and now have a policy of punishing ANYONE who ends up with RWT gold even though the players have no way of knowing they did. I dont know what is truly going on. I am waiting on support to send me clarification on the situation. All I know is I do my swash core 3x a week and do my daily endeavors in 60 seconds. Other than that I sell carries. If carries/trading dies in ESO I will probably play 90% less per week on average and possibly quit due to the fact ZOS would clear RWT for crowns as it makes them money but not players making in game gold from their skills.
They should just ban openly selling carries in zone chats tbh, it's cringe as hell and is a pretty bad look on the raid community. Also makes the few rewards you get from vet hms and all seem like a glorified crown store item too lol
I've seen people on PlayStation use a guild for that, the person buying the carry joins their guild and deposits the gold into the guild bank. I don't think guild deposits flag like trades.
for the huge cost carries.....I would verify the age of the account...make sure the amount of gold equates to the age of the account...the older the account the more likely the gold is legit and the less likely someone is to risk a perm ban on an account they have spent years building...

Zos never surprises us at being the most backwards, most lazy, most incompetent developers in existance. Do they want to kill all of their last 200 remaining end game raiders?
To me, this sounds like an effort on ZOS part to maximize revenue using the crowns for gold system. Gold sellers are competition, and the way how ZOS most likely look at it is that they are missing out on all of that money. A way to make up for players leaving the game. Which is fine an all, but they literally don't have threshold to figure out whos buying gold from whos not. When i started playing on PC. A a lot players gave me gold and mats for free. Some of them were not even my friends. Considering the issues the game has, and players leaving the game. You'd think they would put more effort into proper player retention, making the game more accessible, more fun, and making the new player experience more engaging. When people accuse ZOS of being greedy, I typically thought folks were being salty but now... Im getting a good understanding why they pass that judgement.
I regularly buy gold in amounts upwards of 20 million and it gets sent to me via mail every time without any problems. ZOS has no clue how to deal with RMT and I’m sure more innocent people are “caught” than actual bad actors.
I wonder if the person buying the carry used a gold selling website to buy the gold with real money and had the gold directly sent to the carry leader's account. Then the person buying the gold has no evidence they ever did anything wrong themselves. You have to then wonder if the carry leader actually knew what the the person buying the carry had done or not. They could have suggested it. You never know!
@BeckaKay... we dealt with this a few weeks back. A guildie that won the farm run lot & an officer that was helping run it, each received a "perma-ban" that of course was lifted the next day once ZOS was notified. But yuppers, it happened due to a 100m trade from our auction.
People need to pay attention. They said almost a year ago maybe longer that people may get banned for accepting gold in odd amounts without a high value in game item being traded. Bans will also be handed out if you gift someone a crown store item close to also receiving a lot of gold
If you're trading in gold amounts that large for a "carry service" you're ripping people off. The solution if you want to rip people off like this is have them join a guild, build up a history, and if you can see where their gold income comes from and it's all legit, from auctioning for instance then you could accept that gold for your scammy gold carry service.
All the people in the Chat like "Carries are cheating" Like if the basis of getting the completion yourself was using your own knowledge to get the achievement then 90% of the player base would be disbarred since Trials guilds just copy n paste score pusher builds from ESO LOGS and pass it around from guild to guild. The carry guilds are creating builds that Trial prog groups copy and then Trial guilds copy them. Which is why they all struggle to get the same achievements as someone like Alcast who has the same achievements and has proven to be in the bottom 30% of the player base.
My first mmo was a game called Tibia,they had a great economic structure. You could farm gears and items from dungeons and bosses,and you could sell those gears that were dropping from adds or bosses iether to npc with a decent amount of gold or trough trade ingame or on their website with a similar thing like TTC. I wish Eso would have something similar like that,better gold reward when you finish a dungeon depending their difficulties,and much more gold when you finish a trial on veteran or hardmode.
@venora809 ZOS puts most (new) good loot drops in DLC content, so even if we get more good loot, it will not likely be a bas game item. Fishing is pretty profitable already though.

It's easier to ban the people who recieve the gold. The seller will just make new accounts, new guild, etc which is too much for ZOS to keep on top of.
I'm in banking and this is similar to governments requiring banks to track (and be responsible/liable for) transactions that "could" be related to financing terrorism or other illicit activities. Ergo the acronym "USA PATRIOT Act" which has broad power for ANY monetary transaction and is also an extension of the Bank Secrecy Act. The shame here is that most gold transactions have little real value. But, many such transactions can lead to laundering. Perhaps overreaching government paranoia.Just saying. Who would like to opine?
If you ask the person you're selling a carry to, "was all of this gold acquired by means that are in accordance with ESO's TOS?", then at least you could screenshot their response to cover your ass. Because at least then you've made some token effort to make sure no rules are being broken. No doubt ZOS could check chat logs to read the carry-buyer's response too.

If Zos has clearly established procedures that Raid Leaders etc need to follow to establish the legitimacy of a good/services purchaser before doing the transaction, and those weren’t followed, THEN I could understand the bans But the fact that Zos seems to be going around like flipping cowboys, punishing innocent people, providing vague feedback about how to avoid being banned again… it’s scary and sickening If Zos cannot clearly explain to these Raid Leaders a published procedure that they should have used to avoid this situation, then I think that they should return the gold & remove whatever final warning etc they’ve put on those accounts
Question: if i sell a bauron zaudrus mask (around a 100 mil) in zone chat, announcing it for in game gold only, and the person buying from me has duplicated the gold, but i ask them "is this gold legit" and they say "yes, i ve done lots of writs", and then i proceed to use this gold to buy materials and consumables, do i and everyone that sold the mats to me gets banned, even tho theres is absolutelly no way of knowing about the fraudulent gold? Yeah and still, it would cut 8% of the price but the suposedly fraudulent gold would still be 92% distributed, it doesnt make sense at all. The person selling has absolutelly no way of telling if the buyer is legit or not, at all.
Only took me 6+ years of doing writs and selling trash gear to save up 85 mil gold. Was never a member of any guilds nor conducted any trades on zone chat.
People that have only time for raiding,especilly endgame players,they dont have time to do what you did. If there were better economics rewards in the game then ppl might stay away from carry runs,but i still doubt they wouldnt.
I don't flip items or anything like that I just do writs or sell stuff I don't want (anniversary recipes and motifs and event stuff etc) and I have half a billion so I think that they drastically underestimate the gold pool players have. I've spent at LEAST that much too buying motifs and random stuff I want so if I just hoarded gold I'm sure it'd be well over a billion. Zos really thinks people just are the super casual make 30k completing a whole zone's quests thinking that's a lot (I thought that was a lot when I first started years ago).
new player gets asked if he wants gold, new player says yeah, the dude is rich and just gives him 10 mil, and then both get banned for gold selling. a tale as old as time ive seen this happen so many times in other games, cause its hard to tell for the devs. but thats just one case. the selling runs for in game gold, is just oof, make sure you say the amount and clarify that its gold lol
It sounds like someone is purchasing a carry and having a third party (gold seller) pay the carry group directly? That's the only way this makes any sort of sense, and not much at that. In the future carry group leaders should record themselves asking the person giving them gold if it was acquired fragulently (lol), and when they of course say no then save that video for future evidence? I mean it's all ridiculous anyway but at least they have evidence they attempted to identify a bad actor.
It wasn't explicitly said that it was for in-game gold only when advertising in zone chat, and that makes the ban justifiable? Nah, that is BS. If I see someone advertise something in zone chat, I wouldn't even think of it being RMT - and neither would I think of making this clear when advertising myself. If that was the only reason, that ban was little more than arbitrary.
10-100mil is not alot?? thats a crazy amount at most i have 100k gold also i play on xbox and idk how to make gold like good items to sell and what not. no plug ins on xbox to help with that.

I can't help but wonder if this could affect traders as well. For example, could I get banned for accepting fraudulent gold when someone buys one of my listings with fraudulent gold. I know it's a crazy idea and highly far fetched. At the same time, this is ESO. Crazy things happen all the time.

Zos needs to give way more gold for quests and also the selling market has gotten out of control it is stupid it is a game . For example temp material should be 8-10k the way it used to be know 40-60k for one piece . That's why I left but I still listen to the bullsh@$t that is happening.

Quickest way to launder eso gold bought with real money: take fake acct, buy gold, fake carry transaction with real acct where gold stays. Just pointing out why "receivers" may be getting punished, nothing is known unless we see their evidence. Irony, how different is this from buying/exchanging gold for crowns. I have never understood why it’s ok to sell crowns in the crown store to everyone, but ZOS doesn’t sell gold. At this point they are just missing out on money themselves by not selling gold directly in the crown store. Also why ban people when you’re constantly hemorrhaging players.

Great to see this carry shit being punished, even if guilds don't say it i know they are secretly selling carries and only want dps who can do 90k above so as to make their carry successful thus using guild members and taking all the money without people knowing it, ban all of it, we are not allowed to enter vet trials just because we do 10-15k less dps and that has nothing to with saving time, and everything to do with selling carries and leads and admins and officers and guild master taking all the money, while unknowing guild members get used fight with themselves wanting to be in vet trial spot. So, amount of gold traded is not the concern for ZOS. Seems like, traceback origin which causes ban for any person receiving it. How do people know where gold came from? I make transactions a few million weekly selling dreugh wax, how do i know my next customer wont cause a lock on my account?
I dont play much anymore and randomly get on and ask new players if they want advice, then give them 3-5mil gold with the advice. once i gave someone 10mil, i sure hope my kindness didnt get innocent new players banned.

It's "nice" to see that TESO drama and dev questionable decisions keep getting worse. Every couple of years I come back to this game to check whether they improved in any regard, and every time I leave semi disappointed. Semi because of the naive hope, they're always promising same thing but year to year they never deliver.(PvP👀) Still I never canceled the subscription, even though I'm not playing the game. Thank you for the video as otherwise I wouldn't know about this. It's finally time to cancel that subscription. Those greedy bastards, running the company to the wall, are over due
WHAT?!? Dude I played for years after I cancelled my subscription. Dummy accounts are free if done at the right time, and super cheap if you look for discounts. I got enough accounts to get enough to open guild banks, and made 5 guilds. Plenty of storage space! And those alt accounts are perfect for buying gold and crown store items. This game has been out for 10 years and runs like, looks like, and is balanced like hot garbage from 2012.

I hate grinding and repetitive tasks, so using an alt account as a bank was never an option for me. Im also lucky enough to be able to pay the subscription w/o really "feeling it". That said most people in my country aren't as lucky, and there are countries out there that are poorer then mine. Btw. It's disgusting what ZOS is doing with the crown crates. The people in poor countries can only dream of radiant epics and most cosmetics. And I'm not even touching on this topic from a jealous perspective. I think I have 4 radiant epic mounts that I've spent aprox 2k euro on, and yes I'm ashamed. As for the reasoning behind staying subscribed while not playing the game, there were 2 reasons. 1. accumulation of crowns (if and when I get back to the game I have crowns and can sell them to get back up to speed or buy cosmetics if there is something nice in the store) 2. supporting the game development - I thought that the more profitable the game is the more programmers they can hire, the better hardware they can rent/buy etc. (but I guess they just want to milk this cow(this game) as long as possible)

In order to do what I did to avoid subscribing, it does take a few weeks of time dedication in setting up accounts, guild banks and grinding new characters to a certain level. That said, the subscription fee was negligible for me, as well. I just didn't want to support the game anymore than I had to. I just didn't like the direction the devs were going with it; and all new content is just the same hollow new story, new zone, new sets that make the horrendous balance issues worse, then nerfs nerfs nerfs. The nerfs come because the elite PVPers and PVEers lose their minds because suddenly regular folks are able to kill them, or are able to do harder content without paying for carries. I too wasted too much money on crown crates. At first I left the game for 2.5 years because I found them so distasteful, but then came back and succumbed to their allure. I then discovered those "alternate" sites for crown crates. Never had any issues with them; and they were super prompt on fulfilling orders. I just used alt accounts for the gold transactions. You could get hundreds of dollars (at full price) in crown crates for US$40. It felt like I was shoving a sand coated dildo up Rich Lambert's ass every time I bought one. It was great while it lasted. I'm sure they'll figure out how to get back into business again. They are smarter and more agile than ZOS.
I knew ESO mods were, on average, some of the dumbest people on the face of the planet, but damn. Maybe start recording all carry services? "here is evidence that from my end this was a legitimate transaction".
Wouldn't matter, end result is you got paid tens of millions to over a hundred million gold which was illegally obtained and you were the end user. Maybe trust the people you trade with, like with any MMORPG? This isn't dumb for the ESO mods, what's dumb is these carry services prey on players who bought their gold because they ask exorbitant amounts that are near impossible for newer players to earn in-game, so of course it's bought gold and they know what they're doing.

@@drackar New players can't sell crowns, they have to go through a rigorous authentication process. Anyone else who played the game for a long time you can screen yourself by hanging out with them for a month and seeing their habits. Don't trade randos, period.
Recently had a friend get banned from PS-NA for sending large amounts of gold to an attunable seller. Person earned all their gold from years of playing and crown selling. Something is going on here and Im starting to think ZoS is just straight up incompetent.
%99 of the carry run sellers are also selling their gold for real money. And most of the carry run buyers also buying gold with real money so for sure they should get ban for it.
30-100m is nothing. I don't know if inflation has gone up since I last played a year or so ago, but I could easily make around 600-700k an hour just farming then (with a decent trade guild of course).
Yeah, 1 mil an hour is easy to do not including the time trading just the grind. For comparison: Columbine on NA PC is at 4k a piece now. Was 1150 each when I started 2 years ago.
If I contact you for a carry and we agree on a price of 50 Million gold... at some point, instead of me paying you, I contact a gold seller and pay them for the 50 million and have it sent to you... I am not getting the fraudulent gold, you are, so you get the ban. (no, I am not sure if this was how it was done or works)

Well, the logic is pretty simple. The "Customer" of a carry service probably bought his gold from gold sellers - gave it to raid leader - and raid leader gave it to raiders. In ZoS logic - the gold seller, the customer and raid leader are all guilty in gold selling as they all were a part of a gold selling chains. And honestly i'm pretty sure there is a lot of people buying carry service with the gold they bought for real money, since most of the times those customers and new players in ESO
Its the most unlogical logic, how is anyone selling anything at all suposed to know if the person that is buying acquired the gold from legal/illegals ways? Like if i sell a baron zaudrus mask for 100 mil (it currently goes for 120 mil), how tf am i suposed to know if the person is legit? Specially cause you can have multiple accounts and just pass gold from one to another, if they are both yours. So even low levels could be legit having the gold. Makes even less sense to ban the people selling the service/product and not ban the person buying. The person selling has absolutely nothing to do with the scheme.
@@RangerErnsy well, first of all - i'm pretty sure that bans are issued automatically if the system detects a red flag, secondly ppl can get banned not at the same time - so other ppl can still get banned later on. I've been in a simmilar situation once like 9 years ago or so. I lend my 500k gold for a week to a friend i knew in game and got my gold a week later. One more week later I was banned with no worrnings. Wrote to support - they said that I was a part of gold selling chain. Once I proved my innocence they unbanned me. Later on when i talked with a friend (who also got banned and then unbanned) - he told me that in the past he gave his 2,5 mil gold to another person in pvp raid who was actually gold selling on regular basis and that person was permamently banned with no right to appeal the ban 2 weeks before. So as I see it right now - that person was a gold seller and got banned right away once system detected him and then it started giving away bans to anyone who had any interactions with him. but that was 9 years ago, so algorythms and logic could have changed since then.

Somhow ZoS anticheat/antiscam/antigoldsell enjin detects a gold seller -> hard bans the gold seller -> then it starts to give a soft bans to anyone who was a part of goldselling chain considering they are also involved. It has nothing to do with a carry service in particular, but since this service is in a high demand among new players (who obviusly don't have that much gold to pay for it) and my guess is that a fair part of those services is bought for gold that was previusly purchased for real money -> carry services do get the biggest and most visional to us hit. Maybe something we don't see - is that ZoS actually started to ban gold sellers in a huge amount and this is there main focus and carry service providers are just collateral damage
What if they fight hyperinflation by this predatory tactics and cover it with ToS? And how da F are we gonna do our own investigation on how a person got gold? Isn't it ZOS's job?
Who said they send it from multiple accounts?the clients traded the raidleaders,which is why its impossible to know who have fraugulent gold or not.Thats for zos to find out and ivestigate,not players who are trading with these accounts.
