First of all. I love SaltECrafter 😂 and you OBVIOUSLY did it wrong. Don't you know you're supposed to have three peanuts placed exactly 2.5 in apart on your desk and rotate them 14 times counter clockwise, hula hoop, stand on ypur left foot while trimming your nails, and summon Satan for these things to work.
I love this narrative where SaltECrafter is just this mystical being that can walk out into the ether and come back with a craft kit of unknown origins.
@@nerdecrafter can it please be cannon that the emerged as a fully formed SaltECrafter from the Salt Flats one day and just started following you around?
If it's like most in-freezer style ice-cream makers then it will be a hollow tray filled with brine, not solid metal. Metal actually dissipates heat very quickly, and will make things melt faster, not slower.
But it sounds interesting though, many brands send the good batch to the associated youtuber and sell the less good stuff or even worst than what the youtuber received. So like, Salty can buy it like normal ppl and conpare it to what she got to see if its the same quality😂😂😂
Lol I just love it when Salt intensifies and electric guitar plays in bg with you making SaltE face😂😂😂 But, really for 40$, and one ice-cream.... this thing ain't worth it. That's disappointing.
Dude, we live in Canada, it is the middle of winter, Lady think of it... just a min... Toss the pan into a large clean garbage bag, and toss it out in the back yard! TADA! FROZEN! Ta da! Natures freezer!
Just nestle it in the snow and just make the ice cream out there! It'll just stay cold! Or better yet, just eat the snow! Think of all the time you'll save!
Don't spend $40US on this kit. If you want good, creamy, homemade icecream, it's simple. It's 1 cup whipped thickened cream, 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk, and mix it all together. If you're using fruit to flavour it, make sure you blend up the fruit and then reduce it down over a stove to make a fruit syrup. Then freeze it, it should be ready the next day. I like to make it with mango or strawberries. The key to not having ice crystals in your ice-cream is to reduce the fruit right down, you want to get rid of all excess water.
This is also amazing if you crush up meringue into it and mix in some lemon curd before freezing (not sure if this is available outside of the UK? It's basically like lemon pie filling but already made and in a jar.) We usually line a metal bowl with wax paper so you can mould it and turn it out on a plate, serving it in slices. It is heavenly.
Oh wait, I forgot to add that you should freeze it in Tupperware or glass container, and before you put the lid on, cover the ice-cream with cling wrap. That also helps prevent ice crystals.
Jackie there's a Mexican craft kit/ toy company called Mi Alegria that has all sorts of things. Could you please check it out, only if you can and have time, I'd love to see what you and SaltEcrafter think. ❤️ #NerdEficationSquad
Mochi Tea Aaaaaaa, yes *Juguetes mi alegria* *Aprendemos y jugamos!* Du du du It was part of my childhood! I never got to play with one really, as far as I know. Though I think I did have this medic Box i think, it broke a bit haha It would be a great review!
From threadbanger and from my own personal experience, this is crap. This is a Taiwanese ice cream roll process and I assure you, this is bullcrap. You would only need a metal pan, milk/cream, and sugar plus whatever you want, as well as some handling tools like spatulas. All things that could be retrieved from dollar tree for less than 10 dollars. It's a waste of money, just a brand name box of garbage.
"Use the spatulas to life the ice cream into the bowl" Jackie, they obviously mean you give LIFE to the ice cream using the spatulas and deposit it into it's new home, the bowl. DUH
As a graphic designer/copywriter, it annoys me so much when I see things misspelled or with improper grammar... or just plain wrong! Drove me nuts for a while with all the products my company makes where I didn't have a hand in the design... right now I'm actually working on some new product labels (literally right now, as I watch your video haha!) and carefully checking everything over, so our products don't look unprofessional. Got so mad the other day when I found out I wrote a bunch of copy for Amazon that was butchered by someone else who added it. Not sure why they didn't just copy/paste what I sent-which was approved copy that went through a stringent approval process, by the way-not something thrown together and open to reinterpretation. Anyway, glad to hear you get salty about the "small things" that actually make a big difference in the perception of the end user! :)
That's true and it's not like it would've taken them that much effort! The closest I've ever been to any English speaking country is a few hundred kilometers, yet even I could've written all that stuff for them so that at least it wouldn't contradict itself. Goes to show how little they actually care about their customers.
@@rhjubarb no not in this instance. Copy is what we call the text we write for websites or for products in graphic and web design. So when you are reading the back of a box you are reading the copy. In this instance the plural of copy is copy.
If you can't find random stuff in your yard you could decorate rocks and put them into someone else's yard. It's called the kindness rock something or another. You decorate a rock, embellishments, paint, a saying etc, then you leave it somewhere for people to take. If you add a Facebook link to the back you might even see just how far your rocks travel. One guy put out a rock and it ended up traveling to multiple countries.
Honestly, people do this with frozen marbel plates. You don't need to buy this kit for just the metal thingy. No flavours, no colors, no sprinkles? NOT WORTH IT!
Me: I wonder if it works with milk for lactose intolerant peoples... Jackie: *And im gonna try it with Coconut Cream. The reason i wanna try it with Coconut Cream is because, some of you may be lactose intolerant.*
@@Silver_wind_1987_Oh! i've heard of that but i've been to scared to try it because i am like "what if it does have milk in it" But i'll ask my parents :)
@@jaidynvitkauskas7073 it doesn't I've eaten it before lactanica makes some good ones. You just gotta make sure to read the label and make sure the label says "lactose free "
U know what’s a better one ( you will need ) - 2 ziplock bags one bigger then the other -ice - salt - milk - sugar Directions In the bigger ziplock put ice and salt In the smaller ziplock put your milk and sugar Then put your milk ziplock inside your ice one ( don’t forget to close them ) ( also if u don’t want to accidentally get salt in your ice cream put your milk ziplock in another ziplock that’s a little bit bigger ) and then shake it like a mad man after 1-5 minutes later tada you have ice cream for only like 2 bucks
Make your own ice cream churn with 2 empty cans...1 one-gallon baen can and 1 one-quart soup or juice can. Put the little can inside the big one and pack ice and thawing salt around it, but not all the way to the rim. Put your cream, sugar and flavouring in the small can and start stirring with a sturdy spatula. It takes a good half-hour, and you have to be mindful of the salt brine sloshing and getting into your ice cream as you churn, but it's still a fun food-science activity for the kids. I have also seen a variant of this activity done using two zipper freezer bags (ice brine in outer bag, ice cream stuff in inner bag) and kneading the bag stirs the cream and helps it freeze up...but you have to take care that the inner bag is properly zipped and does not burst.)
8 HRS??? I had a science project and we had to make ice cream with a bucket, ice, salt in the bucket outside the bag of the ice cream ingredients then u shake it and in ONLY 5 MIN..... *I HAD ICE CREAM* and i was happy bc i passed my test and got to eat ice cream :)
PoTaTo_ PoTaTo I did that in first grade and only my class got to do it. We were bragging and the kid in the other class heard and started crying so my teacher gave some to him and I got so mad LMAOOO not relevant to your comment just weird story
You can get those cheapo ice cream makers for a quarter of what you paid for the kit. Alternatively, you could buy a nice ice cream maker and some flavorings for that price. Just sayin' :)
To me, this is about the same as just putting a cookie tray into the freezer and making this at home with stuff you already have 🤷🏻♀️ and definitely not a kids product in any way. Not that kids can’t do it, but I don’t know any kids that would WANT to necessarily. I’d much rather do this at home for basically free (aside from the ingredients of course), and let my kids enjoy the aftermath. Which may not even end up as rolls because... well, if you haven’t seen it, Threadbanger did this at home too. Lol
Put cream salt sugar in a plastic bag. Put that bag in a larger bag with ice. Shake for a while and bam tasty ice cream. Add flavoring. My fav is almond extract with berries.
Was going to say exactly this. Add some salt to the ice if you want it to get colder faster. Cheaper, and easier if you're trying to DIY ice cream for a sleepover bc you can give each kid individual supplies and add-ins for about the same amount of money you'd get buying this "kit"
Exactly, like it would have been cool if they gave you that method, added food dye and that cold plate and you could make like a ice cream picture for the art part. It would be cute for a b day party
tips for actual ice cream rolling. you can use any cream. 1. crush up the ingredients being added to the cream 2. act fast try not to hesitate 3. when rolling start from the middle the most important step! just get normal ice cream. rolled ice cream is dry hard and too cold. the lack of air in the ice cream really isnt good.
@@inkystars19 Diiiiiiiid you not watch the video? XD After the first use, it takes a MINIMUM of 15 mins for the liquid to reach just a chunky slush. You WON'T get the same result more than once before you have to freeze it for ANOTHER 8 hours. If you're dong this with kids, that is NOT gonna fly, my dude.
I love the SaltE crafter lore at the beginning of the videos. Also you can get a better product by using a cake pan and freezing icecream in the freezer for 8 hours.
Ikr my friend has a *REAL* ice cream maker that she got for $35 and it works and has refill packs of flavoring but in the directions it say you can use any flavoring you can find as long as its food safe. So if i find a link I'll add it here but yeah
Abby the wolf I remember making ice cream the same way when I was in the 5th grade. We all made Vanilla, and it was really good! I went to my grandparents house that day and told them all about it, I showed them how to make it as well. I was so happy that day.
Yup 3/10 How can u even roll an “ice cream” that was made with “milk, cream and sugar” like it wouldn’t even hold it shape I would definitely suggest Craft city should include some packs of ice cream powder maybe that’ll help with rolling it
You know what’s so annoying? Is how they say it’s a KIT but it doesn’t even come with anything besides a spoon a scrape and a spoon! No ingredients or anything no flavor not even SPRINKLES! If I wanted to make something like that then I could pay 15-20 more dollars to get a electronic one that actually works for a long amount of time! Salllllllt you should have put salt in the ice cream 🍦😂❤️have a great day😂😂😂❤️
Right?! It should have two or three little bags of cute sprinkles and like three little bottles of flavoring, like vanilla, mint, and something interesting... like cotton candy or bubblegum! And maybe some little bottles of coloring. This is not a kit, it's just an item thing.
Omg , I was so happy to see you trying to use coconut cream 😄 I don’t eat dairy ( I’m allergic ) and I really appreciate that you thought about other people too 👏🏻👏🏻
Alma DIY I can’t have milk (Cheese is okay for some reason) or soy milk, but have you ever had cashew milk ice cream? It’s amazing and lactose/dairy free :)
Why using a Plata? o.O When I was little my grandma and I used 2 bowls one bigger than the other, A lot of Ice cubes, Salt, Milk, Cream and Sugar and some Chocolate powder. We put the Milk, Cream, Sugar and Chocolate into the Smaller bowl and mixed it together. Than we put the bowl with the ingredients into the bigger one and filled the Space between the Bowls, all around even under the smaller bowl, with the Ice cubes and the Salt. We put a towl over both Bowls and waited and stirred the Mixture in the smaller bowl from time to time. We had to wait a long time and a lot if stirring the Mixture but in the End we had Ice Cream. Why buying something for such a Experiment for 40$ if you have everything already at home?
Yes! And you can even put the ice cream mixture in a zip lock bag, then put that in a bigger bag which you then fill with ice and salt and then shake shake shake until the ice cream solidifies.
It's a type of ice cream called Thai rolled ice cream. The way it's made is on a cold surface that's usually frozen with the use of TECHNOLOGY. To make it you pour the ice cream base which is probably cooked together and reduced to be more like ice cream once melted. Then you mix in the toppings and roll it in to tubes. It was a fad last yearish and really delicious when done RIGHT
Auuuugh! As a college student majoring in graphic design and has seen MANY of your saltecrafter videos, I get more and more disappointed with the packaging, directions sheet, and all that shibang xD Like... UGH it really ticks me off XD I'M SORRY! I literally cannot STAND some of these products' designers. Especially when they can't grammar or spell for crap.
I think one of my concerns would be storage. Just because if you do buy this and you do want to use it weekly, your basically going to always have to shuffle your belongs in the freezer around in order to make room. >.
$40 for ice cream plate that you can only make ice cream once and you have to throw it in the freezer is super expensive to me. I've always wanted to make Asian ice cream but I guess I'll get the one with the plug. Attend to buy little kids like this every now and then glad I seen this. It truly isn't worth it
You’re a great influence on young people and I love these videos so much as someone who has a lot of cousins and a brother, it’s great to know someone is looking out for kids creativity and they parents wallet lol ❤️ #NerdEficationSquad
This was on Pinterest before she even released the kit. Rolled ice cream started becoming a trend on Instagram so people made DIY versions using baking pans and spatulas on Pinterest. She’s literally just selling a glorified cake pan and plastic spatulas do not waste your money on this, not worth it
Omg I’m so surprised you don’t like it. Why wouldn’t they just make better products for their fans. It really just shows how much people like her care about their fans!!!! AHHH IM SO SALTY!!!!!🧂🧂🧂
it would be really cool if you did a “craft kit correction “ episode for parents who want to try crafts with their kids but dont know where or how to start! a example of this would be making ice cream with zip lock bags!
I was thinking "I wonder if it is suitable for lactose intolerant grains like me" and your next sentence was about coconut cream - stop reading my mind!!
