True, I think Mazda officially overtook in 2019 or so.

@@potentatewags, I think 2020, and 2021 it came in number 1spot in reliability knocking toyota down to the number 2 spot. I'm not sure about 2022 this year but I wouldn't be surprised if they do.

True ,Mazda is a much better product than Toyota but people don't even know they are partners and build cars together

What about the touchscreens that crack. I know that’s a problem with the earlier models but what about the 21’ model?

Very nice sir, and yea I liked that body style for the CX9 as well. Love how you get so much luxury for these cars, lack of a CD player is sad, fortunately the new Boss systems does sound good even with Bluetooth connection. Thanks again for the kind words!

I had a 2010 CX-9 for over 6 years and loved it so much! It was a step up from my Acura MDX, and it still looked and felt brand new when we got rid of it. My husband surprised me with a fully loaded Toyota 4Runner for our anniversary, and it felt like a huge step down to me. So, now we’re getting back into another Mazda CX-9! Such a fun car to drive, great sound, and much more cargo space that the 4Runner. It’s also just a lot more comfortable to be in.

I'm glad it's not just me. That's exactly the way I still feel about my CX 9. The only thing I don't like about the new CX 9 Is that they ride lower.

@@johnrichards3666 they do seem a bit lower. And I do wish they’d put in a panoramic sunroof instead of the tiny moonroof. Other than that, it’s quite a comfortable and luxurious ride for a non-luxury vehicle.

I'm hoping that Mazda will make an electric version of the Cx9. That's what I'm waiting for.

@@joecool9739 A Signature Trim with AWD here in Canada comes in right at around $54k and a similarly equipped Audi Q7 Komfort or even Progressiv trim with AWD and 4 cylinder turbo comes in right around $67k.

I don't really care for many crossovers at all so I'm not just bashing on them. Their styling is decent. Their interiors are above average, their reliability seems to be decent as well. But they slack on a lot of things that you CANT slack on in MY opinion. Their technology is trash. I think that's self-evident. I don't really need to get into that. They're nowhere near the top 5 in the non-luxury category. Their sound system is also trash in my opinion. I've only driven 3 new Mazda's so I feel like I have SOME credibility in saying that their Bose setup is not worth paying the amount you pay to get it. I've tried it in the new Mazda 3, the CX-5, and the 6 Signature. All 3 left a lot to be desired. 🤷🏽‍♂️ Could just be me. Idk. But I've heard better quality even from other BOSE systems... In Nissans, and in the new K5. Last for me is the ergonomics and this is the most subjective, but I think everything being controlled by a twisty knob is bad for my senses. I'm sure most owners figure it out after a while, but for me whenever I'm in a new Mazda, I'm always twisting shit that I don't mean to be twisting. The volume twister is also not in my peripheral vision. That's dumb. I think there was something else I wanted to talk about but I forgot... But yeah, sorry if I'm always "that guy" when it comes to the Mazda reviews. I just think they're hyped up a lot... But I am always willing to say that they ARE better than most of the competition for quality on the cabin. Just the stuff that you USE is kind of meh. OH yeah, the 93 octane just to get 250 HP. They're not good at selling you value either. The car's aren't cheaper than the competition due to being this nice... And with 93 recommended, and most people likely following that order, they're not cheap to own either. But anyway how you doin bro- how's corona

Can you speak to the drive comparison between the CX-9 and the Palisade. Especially on the highway? I am intimately familiar with the CX-9 since I had a 2020 loaner for a month but my wife and I are in the market for an SUV and it really just comes down to either Palisade Limited or CX-9 Signature. I have yet to drive the Palisade. I know in terms of value proposition the Palisade has the CX-9 beat, but what about local/highway driving, noise and comfort.

@@cyberathlete I have never driven the Mazda CX9, but our Palisade is very smooth, quiet, and solid on the highway. However, some 2020 Palisades have suffered with excessive wind noise, so make sure you test drive before you purchase if you decide on the Palisade. I have also seen at times above 30mpg on the highway and we are currently averaging 23.9 in mixed driving. Our Palisade I should mention is a fwd SEL model with the convenience pkg. The semi-autonomous driving aids are also flawless on the Palisade. I have been very impressed with it's lane centering capability. Still not quite a Tesla in it's capability, but very good, none the less.

@@MeynMotorGroup inline 6 sounds good. I have the 2019 CX5 and the 4 cylinder engine isn't impressive on gas mileage. Might as well have a bigger engine.

You can use the car oem XM/AM/ FM while using google maps. At least you can on the 2018 CX9 GT using Android Auto

I am able to have bluetooth connectivity with another phone while having Android Auto hooked up

That is all in the eye of the beholder. Earlier this week was at a stoplight a CX9 and Telluride were side by side. To my subjective eye the Mazda simply looked more elegant in a sheet metal gray.
