I have used travel agency in Cebu City and always get full service customer support from ASAP Travel for flights from USA. Cathay Pacific nonstop SFO-HKG only 2 hour layover and change planes HKG-CEB non-stop. Cathay Pacific also has excellent rated business class and ASAP has cheap business class fares too
Keep only minimum amount in bank account in Philippines banks. Have your monthly income available thru USA debit card. Also apply for a US based credit card Visa/ Mastercard that waives foreign transaction fees. Order Philippines Pesos from your bank ahead of visit for 2 weeks allowance, including the smaller Peso notes. This avoids vendor/ merchant who might say the cannot break a larger note upon arrival and immediate necessities

I first went to the Phillipines in the 90s they had lonely planet books 📚 for research if l listened to the book I wouldn't have travelled there saying how dangerous it is in the book, I find it more fun to learn the ropes yourself not from someone else who has a different experience then you have !
Good list. I find doing business here in the Philippines to be getting better and better. I still think most of the foreigners are better off just bringing money from another country rather than earning money here. The bad temper I see here all the time even though things are so mellow here. The meetups are a great idea.
hahaha, The only place you could live that is NOT NOISEY and NOT OVERCROWDED would be an uninhabited island that is at least a 24 hour trip to the closest inhabited island. So if you drop those two requirements, with that kind of monthly income , you could live just about anywhere you want.
I'm an AFAM, a term I haven't heard used on your channel, but I hear often when talking to any Filipinos'. But I was blessed last year by marrying a Pinay of similar age, a widow of 5, from ages 8 to 28. and did so in your country as a proof of my strong commitment. Many of your list I did beforehand, and I'm still learning, for example watching you guys. You both have interesting body language when talking of certain things, and depending on the topic it changes between each of you. I have a question for Roger mainly as I have heard from many Pinay and their thoughts on AFAM's, but what do the men or Pinoy, really think of it all? I've gained an extended family there now, and friends too. I feel very accepted by most, but I know not by all. Thanx and blessings to you both.

I watch all videos on RU-vid. I asked a person the cost to build a house in the province and nice home . He told me about 1.5 million php..Is this normal??
Most Filipinos @both sexes are good in public speaking@many smooth talkers in a sense. I mean they can communicate cannot shy or timid. Mostly. Even d kids. I find it amazing

Good video but why not provide websites of the bureau of immigration, or vital stats, real estate companies, health insurance websites, and legal services, and Visa assistance offices.

This was really well done Roger and Ismi. I did a little work in Asia and I was told at the begining by my employer to never lose your temper or get upset as it only makes the situation worse. As an American we learn to escalate and show we are upset to get better service of get things done. This never works in Eastern Asia the Philippines. It's a hard habit to break for many.

Isme n Roger, l love d Philippines no matter what. Its d freedom l value which sadly, l don't experience in my country. Money is secondary. If u r willing to immigrate or stay in another country then u need to b ready financially with extras extras for emergency, till death and leave behind something reasonable for the ur gf or wife,to last, bring up d kid/s comfortably. That's life be fair. Ione is selfish then stay at home dont relocate any where. Let's b honest and fair to ur Pinay. Nothing is free
There is no freedom in the Philippines. You think you are free but you are not. The laws are anti-foreigner and all you own, all you worked for, even your life, is at risk of being taken away from you for the most miniscule reason.. Have an argument with a Filipina and she says you abused her and you'll be out of the country on a heartbeat if you are lucky, but most likely prison time for the rest of your life. Remember this, things are fine and dandy in the Philippines until they aren't. The Philippines is not for everybody. It is for the risk taker. It is a Third World Country for a reason. Don't you be believing the sugarcoating nonsense from the Department of Tourism that is is a "Developing Country".
@@bilatvendor9278 Wow that's a heavy statement emanating from a Filipino. Well, if u adhere to d law, stay within d boundary and don't abuse ur Filipina, l believe there's nothing to fear. True, there are some risk factors in every country and society but if l can embrace d local cultures and norms l don't find any reason not to reside there. Of course if u r financially stable, things would b much smoother. Respect begets respect. Though l came from a country that has better std of living, vast varieties of quality and cheaper food, better public facilities whatnot still l feel very much happier experiencing d freedom in d Philippines. Do what u wanna do "nobody" gonna harass u or discriminate u as long as u don't break d law and treat d locals gentlemanly. Security wise may be an issue sometimes but b wise, use ur discretion and stay away from rowdy places or environment. Provincial towns or cities would be more ideal, in my humble opinion. Cheers

VA here in the Philippines will only treat you for a condition that you have a rated disability for. Even if you are 100% If you don’t have a separate scheduler rating for the condition, you will be denied health care. So keep that in mind. If you are retired military, Tricare may be a better option.
You want BGC. They don't even allow Jeepnees in the area which is fantastic. Very upscale and modern. It's the only place I would live if I moved there.
Hi Roger and Ismi. I got an email from a Muslim filpina lady who was looking for a relationship. She requested we talk on WhatsApp. Send me her pictures even without me asking. The very next she is requesting me to send her $60000 pesos to pay her rent because she is about to be evicted. I tried to know what is really going on with her predicament. She called me on video chat but I don’t see any tears. She will call me hundreds of time in an hour because I’m not picking up. I end up blocking her and report her to WhatsApp. My question is do you think this normal or was a scam?
