I'm in business of giving students environment and realizations of vast opportunities they have and avoid following into herd mentality and create a league of their own.

The right mindset tools and frameworks you can change anything Differentiated and Low Cost - if your not different you don't stand out Questions to ask: Am I creating something worthy of 5 starts?How do I make my product or service worthy of people talking about me? Let the people tell why you are the best (raving customers) Dry Bar is a great example of blue ocean

many of my past "competitors" found their blue ocean. The do their work with practically no overhead or supply costs and do it very poorly, yet make thousands of dollars for a days' worth of work. friends in high places helps you bypass much of the hard work it takes to be successful.

I don't think it is all about being unique although that can help set you apart. Obviously you need to be unique in a good way as there are plenty of bad ways to be unique. First you need to understand what people need or potentially will find useful. Then you need to provide that product or service reliably. As technology improves new innovative quicker,easier cheaper ways to do things will happen and you have to change accordingly, that is what happened to Blockbuster vs Netflix. The mobile phone has seen the end of many business that provided the sat/navs/ GPS obsolete. etc. Competition is actually healthy as it makes business to get better and more affordable.It also means there is probably already a good market there because there is already a demand. New service/ products require good marketing to introduce you new service/product. Then it is quite possible/likely someone will take your idea and copy it. back to the blood bath ocean. That is just how it is and it isn't changing anytime soon.

It's all such amazing information. I've watched one of my 'competition' totally begin to copy and shows they have been totally focused on it vs trying their own thing. I've had to look at them to pivot or elevate my own workings because of it. It's almost like trying to stay well a head of them in ways. But ya, do your own thing!
