My father was born to Scottish parents, so he didn't celebrate Christmas. My mother was " frugal " and considered toys as a waste of money. I learned to hate Christmas when other kids would be comparing their loot.

Comedy is alive and well folks

When I was a young boy in the mid 50's, we used to have 'biscuit sandwiches.' These were made from McVities Digestive Biscuits (cookie) and two slices of buttered white bread. The other weird food that we had was 'soup and chips.' The ingredients were a can of Heinz Tomato Soup and home made potato chips, deep fried and seasoned (salt & pepper,) to taste. The chips were 'floated' on top of the soup (in a soup bowl) and eaten with a spoon. Finally we also had bread and dripping sandwiches. Made from beef dripping (fat / lard,) with a bit of Bovril (beef extract,) mixed in, usually on one slice of bread sprinkled with a pinch of salt. I even remember nibbling on an OXO cube when no one was looking! All good stuff... 😳

The behavior, not the person, although if we persist in resisting God and choosing whatever else, it becomes more and more who we are and have chosen to be, yes, but still, WE never know where exactly someone is at and if indeed they'll never turn and accept redemption in Jesus, OR even sometimes if they have and just have bad habits that may never fully go away in this life/world, while in these bodies. That's, btw, what not judging is all about. Not condemning the person as if we aren't ourselves equally a member of lost, sinful mankind/are God. It had nothing to do with judging a BEHAVIOR to be right or wrong, good or bad, or dangerous, unhealthy, inappropriate or whatever. Obviously, there's also appropriate ways and times to broach the subject with someone, but then we will also all have different opinions on that, too. The Bible has instructions and clues for all of it tho, and where not quite, the overall clue to be checking our own motives and souls with God and PRAY, and spend more time with Him and with truly caring about others, listening to them, than giving advice.
