After racing for 22 years, I've discovered alot of quirks and blemishes in racing programs. I have implemented these solutions into my racing program with 99 percent success rate. Being successful doesn't mean winning a race or even getting on the podium. This video was made to open people's eyes at the complexities of radio control car setup. Hope this helps alot of you guys out!

I am currently binge watching videos because I haven't raced in 8 years but looking to get back into it. I have a B7D kit coming this week and after this I might just go with the kit setup and see what it's doing. I am pretty sure when I was racing my B5M all I changed was springs and shock fluid.

Great simple advice on track tuning, All the things that cloud a mind in the pressure of sitting in the pits. Definitely passing this along to a friend who is getting back in to racing after a long break.

Great video! Learning how a car's suspension works and what the terminology means is the number one thing that will make a person a more successful driver. I also agree with you about pro setup sheets... but they do have their place. When I'm building a new car, I'll download a handful of setup sheets for different tracks and conditions and then I sit down with them and the factory sheet. I look for commonalities. If the stock setup recommends the front kick/swing arm block be positioned for 25 degrees of caster with another 5 degrees at the steering blocks, and that same setting is used by "pros" for both outdoor dirt and indoor carpet, I know that that is one setting that I probably don't need to experiment with... Then I look for where those setups are different and I make note that those are setting I want to experiment with. Then if available, I find a few sheets that are for similar conditions to my local tracks. I then look for the delta on things like spring weight, shock pistons and fluid weights, diff fluid weights, sway bar thicknesses, camber setting, etc. That helps me choose things like a range of spring weights for testing... so I might order 2-4 pairs of springs and test at the track to see how they do and what works for me. I do the same with sway bars if they are sold individually, and if they are sold in a group, I always get that. After the initial build, I don't use the pro or stock sheets. I work forward from the blank sheet I filled out as I did the build. I keep multiple blanks with me and I record the changes I make and make notes about what works. Pro setup sheets make good reference material, but they are not the bible.

watched this video a bunch of times to remind me to search for my own setup and why i dont should use a PRO DRIVER SETUP 😄 also i seen alot of people use pro setups and not be much faster then box setup becaus they are not as fast of a driver AKA learner drivers or dont got the style of drive to use the setup to the full potential.

Brilliant vid man, looking forward to many more 🤞 Another angle on the pro setup - “if Spencer was here now would he be running that setup?” Thanks again, I’m off to go down the Drs rabbit hole now 👍👍

Thanks dude!!! To answer your question, I don't know lol setups can drastically change track to track. It's all in what you want, especially entry and exit cornering.

maybe, maybe not. i would about bet that set up could still win races though.

What happens when you just lighten the sway bars front and rear on a low grip track?
@triplefranch3833
@triplefranch3833 2 года назад
Car will gain a little more lateral grip but will feel a little more lazy and won't transfer weight from left to right as quick. Should he a little easier to drive but will be less forgiving in cornering bumps

the 6.2 kit setup was pretty darn close for me. I messed with my 6.3 I dialed myself out of the window. Going to go back to the kit setup on my 6.4.

0:37 and 1:00 you disagree that having fun is the most important thing then immediately proceed to tell us how you have the most fun. also wtf is a 100% successful day at the track??? like not breaking a single thing, getting all your lines and jumps perfect and not getting even aggravated let alone angry once? theres so many days all 3 of those happen, or more, and its still one of the best days ive had a track. i feel bad for you cause i dont need a 100% successful day at the track to have the most fun ever, because i never have a 100% successful day at the track.
