its always tricky when hunting/picking in groups. My advice is to come up with a plan in advance of who walks up to the tables first, if someone passes over something because they didn't want to look at it in detail, open the box (the PS3 backwards comp), then they had passed on that item when they moved on. If one of you gets a couple big hits, then you throw the other the next big bone...as long as the next time they do the same thing.. personally, I like picking alone or with my spouse/kids. then we all have the same objective, feed the family. and I can have all the goods....

This is not the first time this has happened with this friend. This is not someone you should shop with. That is it. This is your job and money for your family!

Yeah that's some funky shit. We all get salty sometimes when somone snags somthing in front of us but you can't be doing that shit. I don't have flea markets anywhere near me and garage sales are only for a super short time threw out the summer beacuse of weather around here. So almost all my sourcing is thrifts and I've had people try to take shit out of my cart a million times I've grabbed somthing off the shelf and had someone try to rip it out of my hand. Right as im taking it off the shelf I've had people lean infront of me and basically shoulder check me to grab somthin ona shelf in front of me. There was one time there was a small thrift that had just gotten donated like 50-75k in stuff from a guy with a shopping addiction who was in therapy and they told him to get rid of all his stuff he was hoarding. So this little thrifts bringing a shit ton of sealed expensive DVD Blue Ray box sets out and im swiping them up this guy gets mad and threw a DVD at me and said "Ok, fuck you just take them all then" the DVD he threw at me was a $40 DVD. Also at goodwill I had a PS3 guitar hero dongle and a guy was pacing around my cart and I could see him I was keepin a eye on him while grabbing a bunch of shit that just came out and he grabbed the dongle sprinted across the entire store ran up the cash register paid for it as fast as he could and by time I got up there he was just speed walking away from the register and out the door. What can you do other than remeber those times and help those experiences keep me on my toes and especially keep me on gaurd around those people next time if you run into them

I guess it depends if he wanted to keep and wear them or resell, and if you wanted to keep and wear. I wouldn't mind letting a friend pick something up instead of me if they were gonna actually use it and I was gonna sell it. I usually pickup vintage GI Joe when I find it cheap for a friend that collects

I go out with friends all the time to buy things. We all in agreement that the first person to see it and call it out in the box should have it. Sometimes we might get a bit jealous because one of us got better deals that day. Though we always help each other out by talking the seller into a deal for the other person. Sometimes if one of us really wanted the item we will trade for something later or just agree to buy it at the other person purchase price. To me it seem like it was a bit of a bad day and he just wanted to walk away with one good item for himself.

The issue with your ((Friend)) depends on how good of a friend you are with him. For I go flea market hunting with real good friends and I hunt at the market with people who I only know from the market. With my real friends I'll let them slide in front for the score if I don't really need it. And sometime I'll do that with my ((market buddies)) a few months ago I came across a seller I've built a relationship with. And he had a brand new Mariokart switch still in box and offered it to me for $100. I have several switches so I let the other guy have it. Also by helping market buddies find/get deals. If they're good people they will look out for deals for you.
