DON'T EAT THE BABY!! | Interview with the Vampire Ep. 2| REACTION 

As the creator of the show Rolin Jones says, the original interview between Daniel and Louie was in line with the first Interview with the Vampire book. This later interview is more in line with the events of the whole Anne Rice vampire chronicles.

In the books, Lestat was rich through unsavory means; i.e stealing, gambling etc. But he didn't have any business sense. He didin't know how to invest the money that he did have. So he was attracted to Louis's business sense. Which is essentially the same as the show. We get to know Louis as a business man first before we even meet his family. I don't know if the show is giving Lestat the same origin of how he made his money, but the only difference I see is that they gave Lestat more of a base to form initial feelings from in my opinion (Business sense and violence). Also MAJOR TRIGGER WARNING for whenever you guys get to ep. 5.

The twilight books and the true blood books are both fanfic of Anne Rice books and vampires. The authors have said as much. Either way its a huge collection of vampire mythos and I'm here for it

I have one thing to say - Yes, walking/biking through the quarter before the city is fully awake - is beautiful. And depending on the street - it has a smell of ruin/decay and beauty. I lived in the lower garden district and worked at Marie Laveau's. I especially loved it when it rained and I had a day off - I'd go to the local coffee shop, sit and ponder to the point where you drift off and in the distance you hear the horse and buggies on a side street - at first it does send shivers down your back as if you stepped back in time. Then realize they too are just going to work... See ya next episode...

I love coming to your channel for this show. I'm obsessed with this adaptation and have a set of reactors that I watch after episodes while waiting for the next episode. I have a goofy reactor, a serious and scholarly reactor; and you mon chers, are my comfy chill reactors. I love the comparisons you make between the book and the movie without being overbearing gatekeepers. I absolutely love this show and have come around to appreciate the changes as a fresh take on a very familiar story. I like that it's not a 'paint by numbers' adaptation. And that subjects that were once subtext, can now be explored more clearly. Those pumpkins behind you are soo cool (when they're not trying to eat your cats 🤣)! And both your nails are on point! After subscribing, I've watched a couple of other of your videos - and you ladies, make me miss New Orleans so much. My uncle was a contractor for Talbot Realty and I lived in New Orleans for a couple of seasons like twenty something years ago. I was hired to do some carpentry work on the LaLaurie Mansion - but I couldn't hang. Love that spooky city and hope to make it back someday. Did you catch the Marius reference with the painting? It was very quick and subtle. Like the Mayfair reference over breakfast in episode one. The creators have said there will be vampire cameos in the last few episodes.

😏; Louis almost died on his first day as a vampire!... lol Lestat was wrong for that, he should've at least told him the basics like 'Don't go in the sun!' 🤷🏽‍♀ tf!

I like that there are some similarities between the show and the book, but not enough to where you give spoilers, you can think or talk about the books and not ruin the show. The creators and the directors, do a fantastic job of taking us, or maybe just me, on this emotional rollercoaster, that sucks you in. I'd like you two to have more of a reaction, or to pause the show while you give your responses too. I'm not criticizing, just thinking out loud... I hope we all can be Companion Hearts.

Im not going to lie,i had my reservations about this show. As a black woman i was worried how they were going to deal with the race stuff. I didn't want to be beaten over the head with it,but this is a nice fine line. I wasnt expecting the blatant homosexuality, but honestly, its kinda hot. Like, its a good show, im digging this.

Mrs. Rice knew the script and was most agreeable per my research. I’m glad her son Christopher is still involved. Please, in order to enjoy this series, I would like to recommend you put aside your memories of the original book. Think of this as the details that Louis wasn’t ready to share or perhaps, a bit of embellishment occurs (or occurred in the past.). Please, take care 🩸❤️🌹

Mes chéries! Hope you had a wonderful Halloween. Anticipating another one of your vids! What a great year it was for festivities. I saw one of my favorite bands, 'Devotchka' perform at the "Shining Hotel" (the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO.) And still made it home (AZ) in time to spend Halloween night at the haunted Monte Vista Hotel in Flagstaff. And then the next day back in Phoenix to celebrate Día de los Muertos. Don't you just love it when Halloween falls on a Monday?! We had like 5 nights to celebrate! Now that I'm home I'll be sure to check out your podcast. Yeah, I got some stories. Please post soon. Lestat never needed Louis’s money or land we find out in The Vampire Lestat that Louis is an unreliable narrator and revisionist when it comes to his history with Lestat

The twilight Vampire gifts are also a trickle down of her Mormon faith. ExMormons who have read the books and deconstruct how her faith coloured the themes in the books on social media have said that that is a thing in Mormonism. That everyone in the faith is "special" and has their own strengths and "gifts" and such. So it could be a rip off from Anne Rice or from her faith. 🤷‍♀️
