My fave scene from this Episode is when Louis is looking at the world with his new vampire eyes. I have been a fan of Anne's books sense I was in Highschool in the 90's. This show is a great adaptation and modernization of Rice's epic tale. I giggled a bit when you called out the painting at the start of the episode...tis a tiny easter egg that hopefully pays off in later seasons. (Sorry for the tiny spoiler.)

Lestat is the kind of person where his love and his manipulation are the same, at least in the show. I really appreciate that the series included more with Louis's family - I feel like that side of a vampire story doesn't get explored enough.

They have a strong bond it's very evident and beautiful; they are kind of destructive together but it's fun to watch. we have to always remember too that they are vampires dealing with more violent means of life and dealing with issues us regular humans don't have to, so it kinda makes sense that they're relationship is alot to handle.

What I liked about this episode was that the guy singing, was off key. Like they actually paid attention to that detail that most people watching wouldn't notice. Also Spartacus showed ding dongs a lot.

You are as funny as "heck", I'm only watching one other reactor to this show but he's all serious. But you make me chuckle. And you're not giving yourself enough credit. You're picking up all the right stuff when it comes to plot. A bit of foreshadowing: that painting was done by a vampire named Marius (who'll probably show up in season 2) and smart of you to notice the warning of dead blood. Though the first 3 episodes are good, it starts getting AWESOME at the end of episode 3!! Then shiznit goes to a whole new level. "Ding dongs" 🤣. (But seriously dude, you gotta catch up. Episode 5 has messed people up. Left them stunned. Only 7 episodes this season.)

No ding dongs in the books, that I read and recall. I didn’t even pick up on a gay dimension, I was too young/innocent I guess.

There apparently is a sex scene in one of the later books where a man and a woman vampire have sex for nostalgia reasons. And so I haven't read that scene because I haven't read any of the later books but other book readers have talked about it so that scene exists within the universe of actual sex happening between vampires. But yeah, I don't know how detailed it gets. Detailed enough to know that penetrative sex is happening from what the book readers have explained to me.
