Good Luck!!! In Florida, once I paid my house off and wasn't required to have Insurance to satisfy the requirements of a Mortgage, I was self insured! I took on the risk!

@Jeff-ih8gi most families have a home loan to buy a house. With the increased in destructive climate change, it's unfair for all other states to have increased premiums. States in a hurricane zone needs separate hurricane insurance levied on these homeowners and properties. Every single year , all taxpayers gotta pay for hurricane damage. Time for those that live there pay their own way.

@@Usercarobsmk In Florida you have to have wind insurance to cover storms, your regular insurance doesn't cover damage if you are in the defined path. Additionally you have to have seperate flood insurance or flooding isn't covered.
