Thank you so much, Dr Mcdougall! Another negative for colonoscopies is the clean out, which takes at least one year to repopulate your perfectly balanced microbiome.
Great. Now I can justify why I'll never get one. I'm 58. And I'm tired of Drs asking me whe I'm going to get one. I'm tired of saying never. I went to my ortho. dr. for knee surgery. 1st ? have you had one I asked him will that affect my knee. So dumb.
When I was younger, it was consuming fresh, apples, fruits vegetables oatmeal once a week, we would have red meat. I lived near a farm. Then in my mid to late 20s I was consuming red meat daily. everything change then was having irritable bowel at 30 years old, and had my first colonoscopy where they did find polyps, I waited then till I was 60 had a repeat colonoscopy and they found huge polyps. I am now in my late 60s and do for a repeat and believe now I will take his first and second steps first and definitely change my diet. Great video watch every second God bless.
It's all about fear, and you will die if you don't get a colonoscopy. It's dangerous. There are other options for preventative measures for early detection. Cash is king. This is a big money maker.
Ive just received a letter say i need a colonoscopy, because my one off stool test had occult blood found. Ive recently teturned from Cambodia where i couldve caught a GI infection, or maybe a tear or 2 in the intestine😮? Im 67 and im NOT taking a colonoscopy😢❤
I’m 66 and have never had a colonoscopy, despite intense pressure from my internist, who’s also a GI specialist, to have one. Every doctor who finds out I still haven’t had one is horrified, including my cousin’s husband who was chief of Urology, and Professor of Urology, at Lennox Hill Hospital in Manhattan. I asked them if Cologuard would be a good substitute, and they all said no. They explained that Cologuard is great at detecting cancer, but you want to detect polyps before they become malignant, which only a colonoscopy can do. So they said that Cologuard is useless. You say in this video that Cologuard can detect polyps. Do you mean cancerous polyps, or benign or “pre-cancerous” polyps?
I eat a WFPB no oil, sugar and some salt diet and I get colonoscopies and always have polyps. This contradicts what he's saying that if I eat a WFPB diet, I should be safe. I have never had issues getting a colonoscopy, and I've only had one day prep, fasting with just clear liquids before you drink the stuff. I think it is beneficial to get a colonoscopy in my opinion. Haven't been convinced yet otherwise.
I think it would be great to see more debates. I think it would be very educational for your viewers to hear you debate BK who is a staunch carnivore. His arguments sound credible against plant based diets. But, anyone can put a spin on anything - it's been goin on for years. Please have a debate with this man and set the record straight. Who's with me?
Why do we need a debate? Look at epidemiology, look at the map of the world with relation to cancer. People that eat the most meat have the most cancer, including colon cancer. Why do we need BK?
I don't need a debate to know the plant based diet works. I had a colonoscopy in 2006, a fast growing cancer was detected and removed. I then went on a plant based diet and my health has made a complete turn around. I have had a colonoscopy every 3 yrs since with no polyps in the last 6 yrs. I am now 66 and able to run 10 miles, cycle 100 miles, have no health issues and am off all drugs. Not only is plant based eating healthier for me, but cruelty free, and better for the planet...no brainer.
@@Scor-ah So true, we tried going vegan for a weekend 8 years ago and never went back. After only 3 months on the new diet my wife and I got our blood work done, that was all the convincing we needed that it was the right choice. Debates are often just useless noise, people would be much better simply trying it before judgement.
@@mariav1234 Because his arguments sound "sound", and this spin makes people believe his untruths. Someone needs to highlight these falsehoods and help people who are truly looking for the true healthy direction. People can be easily misled by these people.
@@kentgulley5259 They didn't. Otherwise why would it be painful. And the nurses were talking about how painful it was when they had a baby. Very disrespectful.
@@LJ-jq8og Actually, I'm a female. I was expecting to be cuddled but luckily after feeling the pain it was soon over. A friend had it done the same year and she was put to sleep. Nowadays they give you an envelope where you put the sample and mail it by post. Very easy.
