1/2 inch long bolts work just as well and are easier to find. But you saved me a lot of trouble with those rivets...this technique worked just as well on my 95 Explorer limited, though I had to fight through a lot more gadgets and.....stuff. Thanks bro!
The rivets are easier to remove if you PUNCH OUT the center metal pin with a punch and a ball peen hammer , then the aluminum rivet will drill out, using small drill and work your way up to 1/4 inch. I had to learn this the hard way too.
Best repair video ever. "It's like taking a baby out of a pregnant woman" is the best line I have heard, then "Just wiggle it back and forth" that cracked me up so much that my wife thought I was having a seizure. LOL
lmfao bro you funny. but seriously, this is the ACTUAL video on how to replace the regulator. theres about 4 big brand channels that overcomplicate this. thanks for the simplicity!
Ur assuming that when the motor stopped that would be the position to re-attach it. Not the caae with mine. When i took the old motor out i connected it & it worked intermitently. I guess now i have to get it in either full closed or open position & then bolt it in right ?
needle nose plies to hold the bolt? I use a popsicle stick with duct tape wrapped around the tip. Stick the bolt on the duct tape and it will be able to slide into the thinnest of area. Visualize the nut thru the hole and then place the bolt thru it. baddabing, baddang!
i love your analogy of popping the unit out like a baby...Ha ha ha thats too funny...LMAO !! i'm having to change both window motors. they work but when they reach the top they make a clicking sound like very annoying..but they go down with no issues.. maybe they need to be realigned or repositioned.. does anyone have a clue what im talking about.
@@kristinasims5590 I just did this on a Windstar van (A REAL PITA) and put the bolts in from behind and any extra will stick out under the door panel. Can also cut them off with a grinder if too long.
I have a 93 thunderbird , windows dont go down or up . they started slowly over time , the motors or regulators ? sound good but wont go up or down no more . any help
