I began to propagate succulents a couple of years ago after I first saw one of your videos “by mistake”. I was so fascinated by the information you shared that I began my journey with them. I love my “babies”, as I call them and they bring me such joy. Thank you again for all the information you share with us! I look forward to your next video. ❣️
Growing new plant babies is one of my favorite things! So exciting to see them sprout and grow. Thanks for the tips - those squeeze bottles are awesome!
Thank you so much for this! It answers the questions I've had from seeing so much varying advice online -- especially with all the people who say they only water after the mother leaf has dried up vs. those who water daily vs. those who water only intermittently.
Thank you for the info! The propagating package has been great-learning so much. Propagating had been a struggle for me, as I can get the babies to “hatch” but can’t seem to get them to adulthood. It’s a struggle to balance the light, watering, and placement sometimes. But videos and your online classes help so much!
And, I left my comment on the previous video instead of this one! But, you are still one in 1 million and I sincerely appreciate all of your videos and expertise. 🌵
I always wondered why some leaves propagated and some just shriveled up and died - I didn't realize the health of the leaf made a difference, but that makes sense! Thanks Cassidy - been following you a long time now and always appreciate the tips, tricks, and the ID cards, too! :)
Propagating succulents is one of my favorite things too! I am, however running out of room in my small apartment! 😊 Thank goodness it’s warming up outside and I can start transitioning some of them out to the balcony. As soon as the little ones are big enough I’ll start gifting some to friends. 😊
My entry way has a nice glass block side window. Also a floor heater vent. Perfect place for my plants. Also my microwave holds plants on top of it in a corner kitchen window. I'm going to have venture down to thrcbasementcand use some grow lights. 😆
I am new to the succulent world and so far, I’m having so much fun just discovering all the different shapes and colors! I am going to try propagating and really appreciate all the guidance you give. Thank you!
Again thank you for the info. I have the squeeze bottles. Now I must get the blower thingie. Sometimes I try to blow off the water droplets myself. The blower would be so much better.
I watched your propagating succulents video and decided to try it myself. Only two of my leaves have babies sprouting. The other leaves rotted. But for my first attempt I was pretty happy. (I only did 6 leaves So 33% success rate!) some of my other succulents have Sprouted babies. I need to re-plant them since they’ve gotten pretty crowded. I’m not quite sure how to do it. But I’ll try! Thanks for all the great tips!!!! You sure are an inspiration!
Glad to hear you are having success with it! Once the babies are big enough to be planted this video can help: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UFg26D69hD0.html
Just starting to do some propagation so timely video for me. I have experienced a lot of rotting leaves so far so hopefully your tips will help me be more successful.
I have lots of babies too. It really is so fun and easy. I keep them in an east facing kitchen window so I see them often. I use a spray bottle but might switch that up.
I always have questions and here's one that I thought of watching this video about water on propagating leaves/babies. When do you plant what you're trying to propagate? When there are lots of roots showing? When the rosette gets large? When? I have a couple (I DID try and was successful using your methods - THANKS!!) that are starting to get bigger, but I don't know exactly when to plant them. Do I also put the leaf in the pot? Buried, or on top? Maybe I need a video on this topic as well as all your other videos. If you already made one, just direct me to it and I'm good to go!! Thanks, Cassidy. You are the best!!
Hey Dianne! Yes we do have a video on when and how to plant a baby succulent. You can find that here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UFg26D69hD0.html
I'm still new to the succulent world and and sad to say, I have yet to successfully propagate from leaves. I do have one "kid" from a Jade Money Tree cutting. (progress!) But watching this, I think I am overwatering, so thank you! I will re-try the next round with this in mind. You're terrific as always! Thank you so much for all that you do.
Wow! I have had so little luck with propagation from leaves. I am going to use your methods tomorrow (I have some burro's tail leaves callusing over right now) to see if I can't do better. I really appreciate your videos... so down-to-earth had helpful!!
Cassidy, nailed it once again...you were made to do videos! I love the clean colorful look and the specific details are really appreciated. I can really learn this way as I'm much more visually oriented. Keep 'em coming and Thank you! the tip on using the squeeze bottle and puffer is excellent!
I always wondered how to propagate a succulent, this was a great video and can’t wait to get started! Will have to run out and get a squeeze bottle and blower tomorrow!!! Thank you so much for the valuable information!!!!
Love propagating my succulents! I have not been watering as much, I was afraid they would rot but this tip is going to help me a lot, thank you so much!
I've tried to propagate and I'm never successful. Now I think I know why. Also, I purchased your kit that includes that squirt bottle and I love it! Game changer!
hi cassidy! thank you so much for your video, and your instruction on how to propagate from leaves. i am about 2 years into my succulent hobby and learning about the different kinds (very overwhelming!) of succulents that are available. i have quite a collection now, and always look for specific information about each one on succulents and sunshine. i've also joined the fb group which has been BIG fun!!! thanks again for all your time and effort and sharing information! :)
You’re right, propagating from leaves is absolute addicting! ... And oh dear I have not been as careful with my watering though. I am squeeze bottle happy on everything including the mother leaves 😬 Thank you so much for the tips!
I'm so glad I watched this. There are many different opinions on whether to add water to leaf props. I haven't done a lot of leaf propagation but the few times I did I was terrified about getting water on them. Now I can refer to this video the next time I have leaf props.
I’m currently propagating leaves for the first time and currently using a spray bottle. Will switch to the squeeze bottle going forward! Another great informative video. Thank you for always sharing such great tips and tricks. Always look forward to your posts!
OK, ok...you've convinced me. I will try to propagate some of my babies and see if I can grow some new plants! I've been afraid to try, but now I have the courage. You are always so enthusiastic about doing these things that I feel I can do them too. Thanks so much, Cassidy. You are the best teacher!!
Since I subscribed to yr site in the early stages of my succ journey, I've been propagating leaves & now, 2 years or so down the road, I'm getting 2nd generation babies. However, I do notice that stem prop goes a lot faster than leaf prop, especially fuzzy types which takes forever. My Panda plant leaves took about the same time to grow a human baby but ALL have babes - finally.
Usually I can get a leaf OR roots and then after about a month they just die out🙃. I can't propagate at the moment but the tips are helpful and I'll try again(with this video to refer to) when I am able😃
@@Lindaj4765 I have mine in trays of dirt, in a window that doesn't get direct midday sun but is bright. I mist them every day and get a good amount of babies that way. Some leaves just wont propagate or only grow roots but not plants, and that's ok
This was really helpful as I was using the same fast drying substrate for my babies as I was for my established plants. The babies kept losing roots to drying so I buried the ends. Then the mother leaves kept falling over if I accidentally brushed them. So infuriating!
I get up every day and tour my plant table before morning coffee. I give the succulent babies 2-3 squirts from the spray bottle, that’s it. The first time I propagated plants from leaves, it seemed magical. I always have some on the go now!
I have done alright so far with propagating... but I was wondering why they seemed to dry out. I was only spritzing them- will have to try the squeeze bottle method.
