A better title for this video would be "don't judge a log by preconceived ideas". As far as we can figure out the poplar is a Populus simonii (Chinese Poplar) but I will get some of the leaves in a couple of week and confirm.
Great Mitch, It’s cold here as well on the Dorrigo plateau. Do you use a ripping chain? I’ve made a mill of your design and works well. Keep up the good work.
G'day mate, on this little mill I just run normal chain (30 degree - full chisel) but on my big mill I run skip tooth full chisel ripping chains (10 degree). There are some nice trees around that Dorrigo area, it would be a great place for chainsaw milling.
