Mia Goth's monologue was by far the most impressive acting I've ever seen. Just 8 minutes of a psychopath admitting her sadness, guilt and sins. Phenomenal woman and just makes me love this movie even more.
@x y I think you meant she was suffering from psychosis but when you're characterised by impaired empathy/remorse, behave through impulse and have a risky manner, you're declared a psychopath. Which she clearly was.
@@robertfrancis9877 She probably had sociopathic or psychopathic tendencies but she clearly had some level of empathy and remorse as well as sadness and fear. Psychopaths dont have those emotions, they are very calculating and manipulative. Pearl was very emotionally-driven, she was probably psychotic with her delusion being that of becoming (or already being) a star.
I love how X is a great horror movie, while Pearl is a great character study that is almost similar to Joker. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the third film 'MaXXXine' will bring to the franchise
If they were looking for young blondes, they definitely should've had that on the announcement. Not only did they waste her time, but they wasted theirs too.
35:03 Either he was scared of her, he took his vows 'till death do us part' literally, or he still loved her and wanted to help her, or at least stop other people from coming too close to her so she won't have a chance to kill them. "My wife is not well."
That monologue is one of the best things that happened to horror films in the past decade. It made me feel uncomfortable, laugh and cry, all at once. Also, it's a shame Horror film performances are often overlooked because Mia Goth should 100% be nominated because of that monologue and the end credits.
"She gonna get wet anyway" "Really? Really? Not by you." BRO I NEED YOU AND BILLY TO DO REGULAR COLLABS LIKE ONCE A MONTH, Y'ALL PLAY OFF EACH OTHER SOOOO WELL
The thing that I love about the movie's opening is that if you went into watching completely blind (Not even watching X....), you'll actually believe that this is gonna be all wholesome with a character talking to her animal friends about her dreams and skipping around as the music plays almost thinking she's break into song, but then she just straight up kills a goose and the musical wonder you were hoping for, is just turned into straight horror. As if the director is giving a huge middle finger to that Disney musical trope we always see....
Mia’s acting was incredible. It looks too real. It seems like she isn’t even acting at all. The long speech she had without any cuts and the end credits was amazing. I still can’t believe that Howard stayed with her after that. I’m excited for the next movie. This reaction was hilarious. Keep it up bro.
They're alligators, not crocodiles. Gators are native to America, I believe crocs are mostly in Africa and some other places like Australia maybe. Also gators have wide mouths and crocs have pointy long mouths. Just F.Y.I. for everyone.
This is literally how auditions go. They don’t tell you specifically. It depends. Usually it’s only what your range is,your age or even if they really want is your race but usually it’s just range and age for a part.
Please, it takes alot for a movie to disturb me, but this one right here? Lord, the way i had to keep pausing😭 also, one of y'all gotta collab with zzavid PLEASSEE
Fun fact: Pearl was supposedly so unsettling and horrific to Martin Scorsese...that he had trouble sleeping after watching the movie. Hes on record stating how deeply troubled he was the following few days after watchinb Pearl. Its a wild movie
I finally caved and purchased showtime just to watch Mia Goth in these two films just I learn that she produced this film !? So very cool I still can’t believe it’s connected to X and I watched both in the same day. Almost died when I saw the barn door open lol Love you guys ! Thank you for reacting 💜
I just watched pearl, and had NO IDEA that it was part of a trilogy. I wonder if the first one is on paramount, that's where I watched this, I know the third one is in production now.
29:07 I mean kind of, but not here? Women were literally forced into pregnancy (and into a whole life) back in the day, imagine if it was you? I do not at all blame her for being glad when she was spared of a life she never wanted. 30:02 Yes she did. That's literally the whole reason she wanted to be famous in the first place - a drastic overcompensation for the reciprocal love Pearl never got as a child by now desiring to be loved by thousands (as she herself states at the start of the monologue). Ya'll really are cishet neurotypical men, and this reaction shows lmao. Completely missed the depth of her character as a great (if also very over-the-top and fantastical) portrayal of BPD and Autism, and of the oppressive roles AFAB people were forced into back in the day. I'm obviously not agreeing with Pearl's actions, but I was expecting you to be adult enough to at least slightly grasp the nuance of her character.
@@dashahill8765nah I agree with their first point. a lot of men will never be able to fully comprehend the toll it takes on some people both physically AND emotionally to carry a child. it’s a completely unique feeling to mothers, especially those forced into that kind of responsibility
I enjoyed X but I really think this movie is a masterpiece! The acting, score, the batshit craziness, the old Hollywood era feel. I love that you picked up on The Wizard of Oz vibe. Pearl could be Dorothy and the Wicked Witch, Mitsy could be the Cowardly Lion, the projectionist is seen as a Scarecrow, the dad could be Tin Man 🤔
I cracked up watching pearl drink lean in the theater. And did anyone else notice that pearl and mitsy really only had real names? Everyone else were called by title. I think it's so they COULD pass the stupid bectdal test. The 2 named female characters had a conversation, and only talked about men and how they would be perceived by men in films. This movie was a GREAT horror. And these 2 black men reacting to it is cracking me tf up. The reactions i had were similar, but there's nothing like watching a weird a$$ movie with the homies lolol.
