BRUH.. how have i not come across this video or your channel before. as someone who has worked on the firefox css store, and is the creator of cascade, i just literally got the chills seeing your video. i still can’t believe that both these projects found so much success within the community … youtube suggested your search engine tierlist to me just now, and i just though: damn, that firefox looks kinda familiar. funny how the world works sometimes. xd imma get busy binge watching your content now. ❤
I use mx linux and firefox is still the best browser in terms of performance etc...i have dabbled with chromium, vivaldi etc but i found that chromium based browsers have terrible cpu usage in comparison to the fox...we need firefox otherwise it will be a chromium only internet...thanks for the video.
@@zayttoven On YOUR computer that might be the case...but on MINE firefox runs sweet...so neither your comment or mine is actual fact for the majority is it.?
I argue that that If were to take all computers in the world that are capable of running a browser and do a benchmark. Chrome would most definitely outperform Firefox because of its better compatibility with more websites due to its higher market share. That does not mean that the performance in Firefox is bad. Just that on average it's worse than Chrome. Using Firefox is primarily a security concern imo which is why I use it.
I've lately fallen in love with the Frutiger Aero aesthetic, and I heard that Firefox is more customizable than Chrome, so I'm considering maybe downloading Firefox and playing around with the themes to make a browser that looks like old Internet Explorer (I found one user skin that changes the the titlebar buttons to look more like in Windows 7), and maybe I can figure out how to change the tab shape and color to have that glassy look. Thank you for the video!
I have a MacBook at work, so I have to use Safari because other browsers overheat the laptop. I got to really LOVE Safari's single bar layout, where the address bar is merged into the currently selected tab. I mean, I already have to deal with the system menu and website bars, there is just no more vertical space to waste. I didn't realize it was possible to have a single bar layout in Firefox too! I should definitely check it out.
Hi Eric! I have one question. I have arkenfox on my Firefox, would using one of these custom CSS Themes affect the privacy.resistFingerprinting.letterboxing in the user.js coding?
It could be a big advantage among browsers if Firefox could change the UI directly from the settings, how can you change the themes currently. Why won't Mozzilla do it? It's not that hard. Just clone the functionality of already existing themes and create a server to host all these designs.
I'm surprised they don't do this. There are basically no options to change away from the default style, other than a pretty tame compact option. I know in some games they'll even coroborate with the super popular mod developers and incorporate them into the base game. Things like popular maps in CS or addons in wow,
Hey, I was looking for some good Browsers and I found your channel and I like it Keep Going! ^^ I personally use Librewolf and Brave but should I switch? Which is your best/fav browser? Which browser has the best privacy/ Security and features? Is it brave or rather Librewolf or a hardened Firefox? Best luck Adrian
Thanks for the kind words! I have a video ranking my favorite web browsers here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-j5r6jFE8gic.html But I think hardened Firefox, Librewolf, and Brave are all great options. I don't think there's any "best" web browser. All of those web browsers are good on the privacy, security, and features, it's just about which one you prefer more. Personally, I currently use hardened Firefox as it's my favorite, but it's up to you.
Is there a css to make Firefox look with the old UI? I loved old UI but now this newer one looks ugly and too simple. I also prefer the old download button which used to be in the tools bar
Depends on how old you want to go. I know there's this CSS that brings back the UI from a while ago, but not sure if this is what you're looking for: github.com/black7375/Firefox-UI-Fix
is it possilbe with this chrome.css look to get the HOME icon , and MAIL icon always showing in the topbar ? ( so always on view ? next to the extions icon )
Bro with gx mods I just tried out falling metal pipe and only disssapointment is that firefox doesn't have homepage wallpapers enable by default but you get the sound effects. So basically OGX + privacy.
@@kjala_nix The sidebar in opera is top tier the closest I got to that in Firefox was putting my bookmarks on the side but other than that it's pretty cool
Speaking of… Mozilla are the current maintainer of CSS. It's logical if they are the one who first implement it more than any other platform and should be first than electron. I gonna start use Firefox on my KDE.
silly question, if I already have a CSS file with a custom new tab background, do I create a new CSS file with the same name to put the theme code in it?
Brave is actually great and user friendly. I use Librewolf, but it deletes almost everything when you close it; I actually see this as an advantage, since I was tired of Chrome being full of trash from years ago.
No, but I found the solution in the _.css_ file. In addition to the three barrels that I use, I would also need the hamburger menu, which I cannot activate.
rounded edges 🤢seriously, couldnt live without css modifications to remove the bubbly look. Also a must have is the floating search box so it doesnt jolt your viewport around whenever you ctrl+f
How to make it so hat active window would be blue and inactive would be gray? The fact that I cant visually tell active from inactive is most annoying for me.
@@EricMurphyxyz Thanks! Have been using it ever since you uploaded this. Will update my chrome file. Besides, you got some of the greatest Linux content around, very sober, functional and straight-forward. Keep up the good work!
The only thing I want to do is get rid of the stupid drab folders like in the bookmark side bar and maybe put some color in the scroll bars to make them easier to see. This isn't just Firefox but it's like the entire computer industry no longer has any color. When TV's, movies and photos where first developed they scrambled to invent color versions because people and the world see color as a way to distinguish between and we use it to help reduce depression. It seems like all of the programmers and developers must be in a state of depression all of the time. Winter time north of the Mason Dixon line is cold, grey and drab like computer programs these days but when spring comes and colors return life is much less depressing. If what I just wrote isn't factual and people really don't care about color then why have scientists been developing glasses to bring color sight to color blind people? Why do we people spend all kinds of money developing color paints and painting cars, boats and other things with colors? Why not just make all of the videos on You Tube black and white? Computer programs are becoming like the proverbial picture of a polar bear in a snow storm on white paper with the white and light grey.
Delete useless, crashing, tabs and bookmarks forgetting Firefox shit. We're Sorry Firefox had a problem and crashed. We’ll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts
