Don't Play the Sand Land DEMO. Let Me Explain - Game Overview 

It's a demo, it's meant to be a taste of the game not a full experience. Watch the most recent trailer for the game and make your own opinions from there. The game looks great in mine.

Want to throw my hat in the ring here about the demo: The demo has some big flaws that I hope the full release will fix such as enemy loot drop rates (I think I only got one raptor scale in the whole time I spent in the demo) and weapon loadouts (if you're using the shotgun with the battle armour and don't have the cannons equipped as your option part, ranged units are going to have their way with you). The main issue in the demo is the locations they give you access to vs. the vehicles they give you; most of the locations on the map are cliffs which as stated by one of your allies "requires a vehicle that can jump". you'd think they meant the battle armour, but that falls just short of clearing the jump. The intended vehicle is either the Jump-Bot (not shown in the demo) or the ride hopper (which is the vehicle that you can see bandits using, but can't use yourself). this issue also carries over to one of the ruins; there's a hole in the wall where you are meant to jump through, but again, Robo can't make the jump. I do believe the full game will be much better, but the item drop rate really needs to be buffed.

I don’t get it, the gameplay is awesome, the customisation and vehicles, the combat, it’s all good. Sure the demo isn’t laid out the best but I can’t understand why people aren’t enjoying it. Obviously each vehicle is going to have its strengths and weaknesses, that’s the point, there’s different vehicles for different situations, the bike for example is basically for just getting around fast, killing dinosaurs and scorpions is fine with it. And fighting flying mobs on foot? Why even would you? You’re saying all these things like they’re problems but you’re making the problems up dude. The open world is just a demo, it’s a demo lol, what do you expect? I mean when the demo starts it says and I quote… “In this demo, you can explore and fight enemies in the following three vehicles: Battle Tank, motorbike, and Battle Armor You can recover your vehicle's MP by resting at a camp.” It does what it says on the tin, the point is to play around with the combat and vehicles and customisation. The NPC lines are very repetitive for sure, I hope that’s not a reflection of the final product. But yeah it feels empty because it isn’t an open world sandbox, it’s a demo, a demo for what it says at the start of the demo… You don’t wanna come back to it because that’s how the game made you feel? Bro come on it’s a demo, this is silly. It’s like you just wanted to make a video and the actual content was a second thought. And the demo is super easy and you’re so overpowered in it, I haven’t seen one death screen and I’ve played over 2 hours messing with different configurations. Any demo will become stale. But yeah.

The few mechanics that are available are quite fun. I’m excited for the full release. Some other RU-vidrs got an early look at the game many months ago, there’s so so much to this game that the demo never showed us.

I mean the argument about the empty world is a little flawed when its a demo. Zelda BoTW Plateau didnt have much to do in the demo but it was quite filled out in full game. I assume youll also not be this OP in the final game. I respect your opinion on this but i for one am excited to play this. Especially since its got the art style of Akira Toriyama

Yeah I agree with the things you've said, but then again it's a demo. I'll just wait for the full game and then decide if I really wanna buy it. So far I enjoyed reading the manga and watching the anime of Sand Land so I'm still looking forward to playing this game.

I obviously can't speak on full release. Only what I know from all of the gameplay trailers, and developer interviews. But the demo seems to literally just be "here's a couple of vehicles. Play around with them for a couple hours". It seems to omit NPCs, Story, Quests, Towns, Leveling, Etc. While also seemingly gives you late game, OP vehicles. While also leaving out certain abilities. For Exp. You can steal enemy vehicles in the game. There's actually a jumping vehicles meant for Platforming. Etc. I thought the demo was alright enough. But I think they would have been better off giving us a "play the 1st 4 hours of the game. Your save file carriers over" type demo. Not saying that the full game will be a masterpiece. Or worth a full price buy. But this demo felt like a horrible representation of the game. I thought the demo was solid enough. I'm a huge fan of Sand Land, so I'm buying anyway. But I'm a bit baffled that they would release a demo that doesn't include the story, and doesn't include gameplay features that are actually in the game, and would have gave ppl a better first impression.

I played for about 4 hours and am excited to see what the actual game is going to offer: new vehicles, new monsters, the ability to level up and modify the vehicles, and a storyline.

I hope the game doesn't suck when it comes out

Completely agree on your take. I don’t really find shooting fun so I was doing the basic combat which got boring after 10 minutes. Obviously the game will have more abilities but if that’s all the basic combo strings we get at least I won’t find it interesting. The battle suit would probably be the only vehicle I’d use fr and it got boring pretty quick. Maybe the official game can be more entertaining but even after seeing all the trailers I haven’t really been interested in it (probably because it seems to be very vehicle based) so I probably wouldn’t buy it

From my limited time with the demo I agree... While some degree of love was evident (like the unique combo enders depending at what point in the chain you press strong attack), the world felt shallow and not worth exploring... It was a treat to see Toriyama's machinery given life, but I think this'll be a pass 🥲😔

I had pretty much the same experience. A lot of these comments are salty, but regardless of the fact that it’s a demo, it’s not like the monotony of the world or voice line repetition is gonna be magically fixed in the full release. This demo was dropped like a month before release, the game has certainly been content- and feature-complete for quite awhile before that. This seems like something I might be willing to spend $20 on in a year, hopefully with DLC included. I was not impressed either.

I generally agree stellar blade and final fantasy gave tastes of excellent combat and a story that made me want to buy the game, not saying the full game will be bad but they really did not excite me with this demo.

I agreed with your opinion. Demo isn’t full game but like a taste sample. And this demo tasted bad. It likes cut some part then dilute it in empty open world. If they did like this, it’s better to just provide 10 min of 1st episode. I dont hate this game but I thought dev should do better to introduce the game.

Had me for a moment. Thought you was gonna tell us not to play the Demo and just trust your word to buy it but it's the opposite lol With how expensive games (and everything else) is nowadays, gotta pass up on some games and wait for a deeeeeeep sale. I'm fine with passing this up even if I do play the demo.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. The demo wasn't impressive at all. My hype plummeted drastically. What a shame.

This demo is not a great showcase to what this game has to offer. The trailers shows more of what the game has to offer. I understand how you feel about the demo. I played it a few times to give it a chance, I liked it. I may get it soon after release but not day one. I usually do not get games day one. I like games like this as a nice change of pace from heavy story , violence, blood and guts.

I want to have hope that the full release is better because this seems to be just them plopping you down with a couple toys to play with but I hated the gunplay and maneuvering and I have absolutely no faith in Bandai.

It plays more like a kid's game. Simple, charming and repetitive.

I’m with you. This game is super boring there should’ve been some sort of direction in the demo. It’s exactly what I was afraid of a big empty Sanlando map with copy pasted locations and enemies. The combat sucks as well. Basically just drive in a circle around the enemy and shoot it and you win.

It's a demo...these kinds of contents make gaming dead nowadays. Telling people not to play it? Why dont let them try it for themselves. Its a free demo anyway. Im hoping this game will be good and prove you wrong. 😊

As someone who values narrative and goals in games, yes, this was a disappointment. It was not much to latch on to. Also, the combat was not what i was expecting. In the Manga, Beelzebub is very powerful and he seemed to only use the vehicles for fun. But in this game you pretty much want to be in a vehicle at all times and fighting on foot is only something you'd want to do if your vehicles are too damaged. That being said, once i realized what type of game it was and embraced the vehicle traversal and combat it wasn't so bad. But with zero story or NPC interaction to showcase I'm not sure if i like it enough to buy it.

I have to completely agree with you, I was massively disappointed in the game. I might pick it up in the bargain bin for $20 in 6 months. Just one big bore fest.

Honestly one of the worst demos I've ever played. Stutters like crazy on PC, unrewarding gameplay (no loot, no xp,), enemies are almost all able to be baited around and hit at a range only for them to reset in an instant if they go a fairly small distance from their spawn point, and the exploration is the best thing in the game...but it still doesn't hold a candle to so many other ARPGs. I think the demo is going to turn off so many people from this game

Ima play it. Demo did suck. Think cause it kinda just toss ya in the middle of the desert. You have no idea what's going on unless your a prior fan of the property, I am and was still lost. Multiple times, my character or allies would reference a prior quest we have absolutely 0 knowledge of cause it pooped us pass that point. So it is a crap demo. It should've put it at the beginning or just not where it did 😂

The demo is missing so much, all it shows is the combat mechanics and a few vehicles with some customization. It literally has nothing else to do. Not a great representation of this game. I’m looking forward to the full release.

I should have watched this before downloading, the demo made it feel really bad. No reason to play demo from a plot or exploration perspective.

Uninstalled the demo after just 30min. I was bored out of my mind and soooooo disappointed.... I really hope the demo doesn't represent the full game scope, or story, or full gameplay, or it will sadly be a pass for me... RIP Toriyama-san

The demo made me not buy the game. I bought stellar blade immediately after the demo. But this game is extremely boring based on the demo.

So, why should I not play the demo? After getting through all the meaningless fluff I wasn't here for, cause of the TITLE, I did not get an answer except: It is a demo, not the full game.

Man i hope no-one watches this and forms an opinion of the game. It’s very silly. Vehicle combat is clearly the intent of the demo, and the three vehicles offered are diverse. The game alludes to a jumping vehicle, which doesn’t take a genius to figure out it’s just not in the demo. Just watch the official trailer and play the demo for a taste of the combat. Terrible “review” of the demo
