Especially as she expressed the wish that the name "Lilibet" be laid to rest with the passing of her husband - the last person to call her such. Can you imagine the agony the grieving Queen went through on hearing this news from H&M? It was even less than 2 months since the passing of her husband. I can only think you are a callous person with no respect for the privacy of others.
Of course they should have found a different name . It was a nasty , carefully and venomously contrived move to hurt the Queen . Added to which Harry’s claim is nonsense since they had already registered it as a domain name . They clearly seek to make money off it and continue in their intent to demean The Queen , The Monarchy and the RF whilst insisting on the connection. Bloody disgraceful , shabby , unconscionable behaviour , wholly worthy and demanding of the removal of all titles , to include Prince of the Realm , exile and excommunication. Imo
The big issue is that Megan took ownership over the name with a copyright. That is the issue. Just like she said they don’t own the word royal she decided to take that name and own it because she’s very entitled.
Think as well they had all of this criticism about the institution & how they were mentally ill through it, yet they've grabbed and announced titles, backtracked on the racism & been involved with books that have been so nasty towards the family. My immediate "reaction" to the naming of Harry and Markle's child was that of disgust to be honest. For the two of them to continual slander the RF and then name the child Her Majesty's very private and personal nickname was clearly another move by Markle to ensure ties to our RF. I do believe Harry knew what kind of upset this would cause and as usual bowed down to this vulgar woman.

“Lilibet” is not a name. It’s a nickname (a pet-name). The whole point of a nickname is to show a sense of endearment to one specific person. It singles them out from everyone else and there’s usually an original story behind it. To use it as a first name on someone else to gain status is beyond gauche.

My question is, what name was QEII presented with? Eilzabeth, Lily or Lilibet? Because in William and Kates' Twitter post, they used the name 'Lily' when congratulating the Sussexs. I believe the Sussexes decived QEII by not presenting her with the actual name they were going to use!!!!!

If nothing else it was a gross invasion of the Queen's privacy. To have placed a copyright on it even before the baby was born can only mean that they were determined to use this name whether they had permission or not. Disgusting behaviour.

As a Meghan hater Her Majesty had no problem with her great granddaughter having her pet name, her father King George V named a horse Lilibet after her when she was a child, any grandmother would be happy to have their grandchild or great child named after them - stop the hating enough is enough.

@@SeniorScooby But Harry & his wife are non working Royals, and living entirely outside the fold. They’re not subject to the protocol. There’s nothing the Palace/RF can do to force them to make the kids visible to the public. Plus, other Royals don’t seem to view their children as barriers to them receiving attention.

I live in Toronto Canada and I like your honesty from Sarah Vine and Andrew Pierce. Funny as well. Which I believe we need now. In our world at the moment we need laughter, joy as we are trying to survive this world which is very sad at the moment. Finally honest, true ideas about where the royals have come from and then, where will they be in the future.. Britain plus London have made millions of pounds from visitors to Buckingham palace. As my family especially my mum would love to go around these fancy homes, even Antique Roadshow, we watched and learnt so much about history. I have always loved history, Ireland is number one as my background has plenty of stories of famine, people escaping to London for a better life. Honest. My take on politicans is they are a boys club. And nobody cares about the people. I am a nusery nurse from London U.K. and I made my way to Canada but life in most counties is too expensive for the people. I am told Morroco is the cheapest place to live on this planet.
