Don't Skip This Amazing Series! - Arknights Prelude To Dawn Anime Review

It's wild that, by far, the harshest critics that dunk on the anime are the players themselves lol. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I love the world of Terra, the factions, characters, threats and, ideals along with proposed solutions are so fascinating. I'm finally reading chapter 10 and it's incredibly engaging that hit the ground running but is so nicely paced with my favorite NPC operating in the shadows.

Hope we wont have to wait too long for next season. Cant wait to see how will they adapt Yelena's story.

I remember that there was a dedication song and MV that was made for Arknights CN's third anniversary. It was called 'Running In The Dark' by Monkey Majik. The song and MV was like a pop song, typically you associate with anime ending, so we thought it was going to be the anime ending, but it's not. I always loved to imagine if this really was the ending of the anime; so that in the story, people are just dying both inside and outside - and we had this happy go lucky music playing as the ending song with Amiya, Ch'en, and Kal'tsit dancing.

When chen mentioned that amiya would have a room full of that mask someday, it reminded of the scene from the op where chen killed a reunion soldier with a stack of masks in the foreground

Well, Yostar is literally the publisher of the game itself, so some devs are also very likely involved in this project too so it really doesn't feel like a third party adaptation at all (kinda funny to see the same logos in the anime ending/when we open the game). This was Yostar Pictures' biggest project yet (they used to make PVs/short animations for arknights and azur lane and some slice of life anime) so it is pretty clear that there went a lot of passion, adapting their own games into anime was the whole point of this studio after all

The Arknights Anime did a great job at telling the weak part of the main story than the in-game(Source material) and it gave justice to everyone and to the antagonist's.

Arknights. Huzah! Looking forward to S2. a community-favourite arc being adapted. Also a badass catgirl as a focus character you're gonna get to enjoy :)

The art and visual storytelling even in the game itself made me fall in love with it. It’s the perfect setting, for me at least. Leaves so much open yet explains everything you must know. That, and everything is just calming and motivating to look at. I usually cringe at anime art.

I found the FGO comparison slightly funny because technically Arknights is just as complicated, we just didn't see any of it yet xD Especially with all the sub plots from side stories that run alongside the main story

I think it's interesting to hear this from some (I assume, at least) that hasn't played arknights. There are a few things that people who play arknights would interpret or explain differently, and it's cool to see those differences.

Thanks for the review! As a day one player it really makes me happy to see someone who's new to the series love the adaptation. Btw arknights official just announced a mini series called 'Lee's Detective Agency' which first ep should be available today on Chrunchyroll. From the trailer it's a side story not related to the main arc focus on a sub faction of a private investigator in Lungman and the story and art style should lean towards light hearted and comedy (well... After the depression of SS1 we have been through....) So I suggest you check out if you want to see more arknights related anime and kinda expand the world building a bit

2 reasons why I stopped playing the game. 1) Tower Defense. Just not my cup of tea. 2) Couldn’t feel myself get invested through the story. This anime has really help changed my perspective of the story. From characters facial expressions to surrounding environment. I truly felt the weight of the story in this anime compared to having played the game. Probably easily one of the best adaptations of a gacha game. I’m completely hooked and easily excited to see the next season.

You can definitely blame the subtle, bloodless, offscreen action sequences on CN regulations though. It's not like they want to make it like that but censorship is a rather big thing in CN as you have known.

Not a gamer so never heard about this anime. Only because Otaku Spirit recommends, I will now hunt for the anime. Now that's trust!

I recommend you check out the Mangas, there aren't many but Stories of the Infected, Rhine Lab and the newer more lighthearted (on the surface) Rhodes Island Kitchen are quite well done.

You loved it, now consider this: Prelude to Dawn covers the first 4 chapters of the game very faithfully, and fans of the game generally consider it to be the weakest writing in the story so far. Just imagine how the next part of this arc is going to feel.

The show about cute little bunny girl and her ideals.. getting bashed into the dirt again and again for almost every episode. Ah yes, an entertaining thing to watch. Good that we have second season already announced. Will see how this constant flavor of dirt and blood will reshape her ideas and persistence. And aside of persistence, people in this world have powers to backup their convictions. And we still haven't really seen what Amiya really capable of. As well as other Rhodes operators. Though, that can be said for other groups and characters as well. How all this mix in the pot will turn around, in the end? We will be getting another anime on crunchyroll today, named Lee's detective agent all though it's geared more towards fans. Also, Today is Amiya's birthday fan. All hail our supreme leader of Rhodes Island

After the: - The Eminence in Shadow (first 5 episodes) - Durarara!! (first 2 seasons) - Classroom of the Elite (first 9 episodes) - Steins;Gate (first season) - Gurren Lagann - Re:ZERO (until Season 2 Episode 11) - Overlord (first season) - Angel Beats! (I'm only talking here about the first 8 episodes) - Neon Genesis Evangelion (the 26 episodes TV series) - That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (first 17 episodes) - Bunny Girl Senpai (after the 3rd episode and until like episode 10) It's really hard for me to take serious a anime recommendation. Before starting to watch Mushoku Tensei (around the time in between the 2 parts of season 1) the single and only thing I heard about this show was literally "-Perverted old man get's reincarnated in another world."...that was it...I only started to watch it at that time only because I remember hearing that about Mushoku Tensei like 3 months ago (at the time of starting to watch the first part). I only started to watch literally the best isekai series only because I was in the state of "-Kinda want to watch an ecchi show..." and remembering that description of Mushoku Tensei.............

Speaking of FGO, this anime feels like a story of FGO First Order OVA with the production level of FGO Babylonia anime. I really love it. It's kind ironic that the mobile game came out in 2019 and then next year Covid 19 happened. I saw a lot of Asian hate crimes and discrimination in the west at the beginning of pandemic. Good thing we are not living in 1920s.

Will it help if I tell you that the mobile game is F2P friendly and that having the top tier operators isn't necessary to do everything in the game? In fact, strategy and critical thinking will help you clear the stages more than your wallet will. Aside from the gameplay, you're also treated to a ton of awesome storylines that add to the worldbuilding and lore.

Really good review, IMO pacing was a bit slow and animation was sometimes a bit scuffed but overall as a day 4 Arknights player I'm really happy, and they already announced next arc which is for the majority the best one. By the way, which model (and dimensions) is the display case you have the top right on top of the Detolf? I'm starting to collect anime figures and wanted someone to store 1/7 figures but don't have a good spot for a Detolf.

Funny that Amiya look naive act naive but she's not naive, just look back and think she's a leader of a Pharmaceuticals Inc (in name) and from all 8eps there really no one in Rhode Island ever questions about Amiya decision

Arknights Prelude to Dawn is amazing anime of 2022, such as The Genius Prince's Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt, Spy x Family, Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie, Lycoris Recoil, Fuuto Pi and even Chainsaw Man.

The series is a good adaptation, but a mediocre anime. The direction and dialogue feels janky sometimes. And the pacing is all over the place.
