The attorney-general's office in Thailand announced on September 18, that eight individuals, including six army officers and two civilians, will be indicted for murder. The case started following a violent crackdown, when thousands protested in Tak Bai, on October 25, 2004, and urged the release of six men. Soldiers rounded up around 1,300 protesters, and cramp them into 25 trucks. By the time they reached the military camp, 78 died from suffocation, while seven others were shot.
