Second I've met alot of chechens and Dagestanis and can relate to how they greet you. Third dispite our different skin colour your like me a working class Brit and I can relate to how you are with people. That goes a long way with Russians, no pretence. Too old and pretty much deprecated nowadays, however. We have muuuuch more modern and waaay better sniper rifles these days. ORSIS 5000 (and it's recent upgrade/update "Precision", as well as the anti-material variant "Precision 12.7"), for one. SVD is great, but it was retired long time ago, it is now just a legendary memorabilia, just like Mosin and PPSH, or Makarov/PM, or TT. AK 47 is still somewhat relevant and is still being used, but it's being slowly phased out of official domestic production (still gets heavily imported out, however) and usage nowadays, because there are much more modern and way better updated variants of it existing these days (AK-12M and AK-15/19), as well as completely new assault rifles created from scratch recently.
@@hracekk Ah, right. SVD really has a very memorable distinct look/visual design, indeed. I personally, however, always preferred AS Val/"Vintorez" more (I like smaller/shorter/more compact sniper rifles. Besides, Vintorez can be disassembled easily and carried in a case, it weighs very little, and it also has integrated suppressor, which can still be detached/changed if necessary, it's basically professional assassin's sniper rifle of choice). It is also still actively being produced and used in the domestic Russian forces (specifically so Crimson/Red/Maroon Berets, who are also National Guardsmen and Internal Military Troops assigned under MVD, a.k.a. "Spetsnaz", cherish it very highly), after some upgrades/updates within passed years.

Pretty much almost anything that's not pork. Sometime you can even find some places serving or families preparing at their home such "exotic" meat as llama or alpaca (yes, modern Russia has llama/alpaca farms, we've started "importing" and domesticating those several years ago). Russia also has quite a decent amount of ostrich (yes, OSTRICH) farms since mid-2000's (it all started roughly around 2006~2008), so ostrich eggs and meat are NOT uncommon. And camels been around for decades, especially in Kalmykia region and other territories bordering Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, etc.
Russian people are very cool people the media definitely give them a hard time when I first went there i was really surprised how lovely and kind they was so to love to Russia everyday.
