Don't Update to Logic Pro 11 yet. !!!!!!!!! Here is Why 

I have a MacBook Pro i7 running Ventura and am testing the free download which expires on Monday 7/1. I’m not technically inclined but I’m having a blast experimenting. Do you recommend LP 11 when I have to purchase on Monday? Thanks so much and I really dig your video.

Not quite true - the update IS compatible with Intel Macs - except for the Stem Separator and the Chromaglow plugin. Everything else works just fine on Intel. And yes - Rosetta (which is only used by those with M-series chips) is a problem, but better just to disable Rosetta. If you have 3rd party plugins that need Rosetta, and if they haven't been updated by their makers yet - then the chances of them being updated are nil. Find alternative plugins that do the same thing. Running Logic Pro 11 here on a Mac Studio with an M2 Ultra - runs perfectly. Doesn't even break a sweat. Also, if anyone DOES want to go back to Logic v10.8.1 - download the trial version. It's still v10.8.1 and will run for 90 days - by which time v11.1 should be out.

I updated two machines with zero issues.

i wonder if theres any ai running behind the scenes in the logic 11 itself tho? like does it leave any kinda ai artifacts or signatures (idk what exact word i'm looking for here) like even if you don't use the ai features? i'm afraid to touch ai (even for fun) cause i really think there'll be some sorta cultural shift in the future where musicians/song writers stop using ai all together, cause like when any random person can just type a few words into there phone and generate an entire hit song, that will prolly create a niche for like "human music purists" or some shit. and it would be really shitty if you spend a lotta time using an ai powered daw without the perks of ai, but then when your songs are scanned for ai, it still says they're ai cause the daw was "ai powered" all together, and then everyone one puts you in the same category as the talentless hacks who've never even tried to do anything musical but just happen to be good at prompting generative ai then theres the people who will still be sus because they used to use ai and then quit, but how does anyone know they're still not using it as a writing tool and then passing their songs off as original human music?? 🤣 best way imo to avoid any future credibility issues is to just avoid ai all together, i personally don't touch it, i don't look at it, i don't want anything to do with it when it comes to music. plus why is it free? was this there plan all along - to make human music show up as ai so that there is no way to distinguish the two, thus stopping a human vs ai music divide before it starts? and what are the terms and conditions?? are they using all your music ideas and workflow as training data for the next update? and each update makes your more and more dependent on ai until eventually all great musicians are no different that the talentless hack typing words into they phone??? all this shit is sus af

Sometimes we need to just move on. My old cheesegrater mac is now obsolete and I now use the mini. I still have the trash can as a back up mac but I have moved on. I suggest to do the upgrade and enjoy. Who uses rosetta anyway? Your old plugins are just that - Old. Time to renew.

I made the decision to get a MacBook 13" M1 but, I have also upgraded my Mac Pro 5,1 2012 to 12 core and for me that is where I will stay. I have incorporated some Warm Audio additions and I am cool with that. I have no intention of paying for plugin upgrades when the ones I have purchased are working well! F..k that BS! I have owned a 2" Analogue recorder and it was magic as you had natural compression from the tape. I ran the mics through several Drawmer 1960s and I wish someone would create that on the digital medium. In the end it makes no difference either way if a song/composition is shit! As you can never polish a turd!
