DON'T Update your iPhone XR, XS/XS Max, 11/11Pro and SE 2 to iOS 17!

Huh? My iPhone 11 gets the inline autocorrect and keyboard prediction. My battery is normal, I don’t feel any drain at all. In fact, it feels better than iOS 16. I’ve installed iOS 17 since developer beta 1, it runs fantastically. The standout features like Standby, interactive widgets are hard to miss. I highly recommend installing iOS 17 to iPhone 11 users.

Does this information pertain to the older iPad too?

I updated my XR two days ago, so far I didn't notice any problems, my battery was at 80% before the update ( Ik it's bad, I have it for about 3 years, I will update to a new phone in a couple of months anyway) and I didn't feel any change in that field. Over all it runs smooth and works just like it did before.

I have the Iphone X and I'm still running the 14.2 software. I stopped updating years ago. Don't need updates and phone has no issues.

I updated and so far it's running great on my XR. Makes the phone feel new and fresh, even texts and icons looks a bit more crisp and animations are smooth. Battery life also seems the same as iOS 16 for me my iPhone is at 94% battery health. I've charged up to 100% last night and I don't think I have to charge until 6pm tonight.

I just updated IOS 17 on my XS Max. I think it took 20 minutes to update completely. So far, so good. I haven't tested everything out yet. But I tested the iMessages changes and that worked well. No obvious change in speed yet. My battery was at 100% when I installed it so I won't know if it affects battery life until tomorrow. But I do know that updates can affect battery life the first week and then get better and that is okay with me.

I’ll stick to IOS 16 for my XR it’s much safer to use didn’t have any issues at all and running fine

Got it on my XS and it feels great. Keyboard is super nice with way better predictive text and the spotlight search and general usage feels way smoother and faster. Not sure on battery though

I haven’t experienced any troubles or issues updating my IPhone Xr on iOS 17, still it runs smoothly and my phone feels new.

I just updated to the iOS 17 and truth be told it’s so far great and the experience is super smooth. And my phone’s no longer overheating like it used to when I was on 16. I guess I’m just lucky 🍀 😊

Iphone 11 after 1 year running smooth on ios 17 on 97 battery. I got this late but works really smooth. What ur saying is wrong in my case

in the iPhone XR, the option to update to other releases of version 16 has disappeared, only an update to 17.2.1 is offered. used to have a notification to update to 16.6+ and "you can also install 17", now it's gone and only updates to 17.2.1

When I updated my xs max to IOS 17 it felt so new and fresh. I didnt run into any problems so far.

Personally I think you should only update if you have issues with your phone but if your phone still runs smoothly where it’s at then no need to update I haven’t updated mines and don’t plan on it unless other wise

StandBy mode still works on all iOS 17 devices but it will just turn off if it doesn't have an Always On display

This is why you have to backup on the iCloud or on your computer 😅

When I updated my 11 the Face ID issue which was there for about 6 months was solved after the update and everything else feels great.

My iPhone was running well until it updated itself, and then I noticed it started to slow down and the performance became really bad. It also heats up a lot now. This is really frustrating!

Yes you are right, when i am updating ios17 until 17.2 i am getting touch bugs then still apple not fixing this issue, i am very upset with this issues, some time automatically runs my iPhone XR

I updated my IPhone XS and, for some reason, the Standby Mode doesn't work properly. Actually it does starts, but the data (time, calendar etc) keeps totally blank on the standby screen (no number, no letters, nothing). I've already restarted the phone, turned off/on the function and tested several tips i got on RU-vid. Nothing working so far.

So i have an iphone 11 with battery percentage (75%) and it may decrease after the update too. I really wanna update it to ios 17 but i am afraid of the battery draining or heating issues mainly. If you have an Apple Watch Series 4 or higher - YOU HAVE to update to iOS 17 in order to update the watch to OS 10.

IOS 17 has destroyed my XR battery, I had 94% health now I have 86% It drops 30% during the night. I have low power mode enabled, background refresh off, mail fetch off, brightness set to 20% location and bluetooth off, I deleted power hungry apps but still my battery drains before my eyes, I actuall see the numbers going down

So after updating iphone Xr to ios 17. It starting freezing a lot. Started getting slow then started restarting itself recently. Battery health went to 80% . Can’t use apps for long. If I don’t use any apps. It stays normal. If i do open any apps or try app update. Boom it restarts

I dont notice much slowing on XR. Seems the same. I don't really notice many features i care about either. Battery gonna go bad in this within the next 12 months so was gonna get a new phone soon anyways

The ios version which ships when you bought the is the only stable and best version works for phone. Because it is super optimised for that iPhone processor

I wished I watched this video the first moment I got my 11. It's on iOS 16.6.1 out of the box IIRC. I was offered an update for iOS 16.7 but I just chose iOS 17 at the bottom coz I think, why not update to the latest because the phone seems to support it. Though experiencing iOS 17 on the 11 is fine, though in the earlier versions only (up until iOS 17.1.2). Going further tanks the battery life of my phone with its peak at iOS 17.4.1. Though, updating it to iOS 17.5.1 seems to bring it back to iOS 17.1.x levels in terms of battery life. I can really say about performance in comparison to iOS 16 because I had only used that version for a few moments before eventually updating it to 17 after setting up my phone.

I have an xs and never had any isssuess, since about 1 month ago now the battery has drained super super fast to the point where battery life went from 85% to 79% in just 1 week. that week was sunny and warm but the phone was heating up like crazy ever since when it's in the sun just for a tiny bit and its full sound and video

oops too late I already downloaded it on my XR 😢😢😢😢 well you should have made this video before IOS17 was available and by the way I have the standby mode I hope I won't have any problems (luckily I made a backup before downloading it)

You can’t not update indefinitely. Eventually you’ll have to either update or get a new phone

17.1.1 is fine on an XR Apple has limited features in iOS updates for years. The battery comment relates more to battery health as iOS is optimised. Putting yourself out as an “expert” is laughable.
