How do I still get butterflies when I hear someone else say my name on another video! Thank you for speaking so honestly and nicely about me and my Brand 💓 I understand people don’t like fake tan! Maybe one day you can patch test it to see what you think 🥰🥰🥰
@@jennyesperanza Sadly, I live in North Idaho. We don't always get a lot of sun. So my doctor put me on D3 to help with my depression. Also, skin cancer is prevalent in my family. I can't do the sun anymore, spf or not.😔
Re: acai, since you've asked before... technically it's açaí so it's pronounced roughly ah-sah-EE, but practically speaking, in English it ends up being ah-SIGH. Hope this helps 🌈
Thoughts on the potential reviews Super goop lip balm: no Sireni mask: no Kylie skin: absolutely not. Milk makeup: actually maybe? It’d be interesting to see a review Saltair: yes, interested Ilia: not gonna buy: too expensive for a sunscreen
@@randomstuffs3060 reef safe is green washing nonsense unfortunately, among many other reasons reefs are dying (like global warming doing the actual brunt of the damage), you can look at studies which prove zinc is actually worse for coral/ water/ the environment. James himself has mentioned this in videos...I recommend referencing lab muffin's channel for a professional perspective on that
I finally picked up a few of the Glow Recipe items Wednesday, after months of seeing them in the store, and watching your video recommendations. And OHHH MY GAAAWD they are freaking amazing! I have never used such amazing skincare products in my life! Now I wish I wouldn’t have pondered over then for so long. I will never use any other products on my face. Period.
Yes, being more tan will minimize the appearance of your redness. I also have rosacea and when I was outside way more when I was younger, the tan would help with the redness for sure.
The only ones I kind of want to try are the Milk and the Saltair. The Kylie stuff looks fine, but so many similar products and I don't want to fund the Kardashian-Jenners, tbh.
I purchased the Bioderma micellar water because of your suggestion and it is truly the only one that I've tried that doesn't burn, not even a little. Thank you for your videos, James 🖤
The Saltair Black Tide smells exactly like a high-end department store to me. Like when you walk in the store where you know you probably can't afford a lot of things and they have that really soft carpet. It makes me feel fancy. I even emailed them hoping they would come out with the lotion in that scent.
Y’all you have to try the O’Keefe’s Lip Repair it’s spf 35, broad spectrum, and it has NO gross sunscreen taste! Plus it’s affordable! Stay safe out there! 💙💙
For someone with dry skin and sensitive skin Ilia is a holy grail. I refuse to buy expensive makeup, but I do make an exception for them because its so worth it for me! They go beyond me expectations. I have their super serum tint , so I'm not sure if I would feel the same about their sunscreen serum
I love Ilia too but I really am over actives in every cosmetic and sunscreen product. Super sensitive skin here and I don't want actives in every skincare and makeup product.
@@Kimberlyshelene hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, now vitamin C. Those can all irritate certain skin especially if you are using it with skin care that has more of the same ingredients or actives that don't go well with those.
I can’t believe none of the top ten comments mention when you said “dog-penissy,” i was multitasking and not paying full attention to the visuals on the screen and i swear, i just froze and stared at you for a couple seconds and then at the product. First time ever hearing something described that way, and now I’ll never be able to unhear/unsee it. Why, james, why
Im currently dealing with retinol burn. Red skin, flaking ahhh. Welsh please make a vid on how to rest skin or help skin after accidental overuse of products
Hmm well Kylie, tbh e.l.f. just released a blemish line and their water cream and cleanser for about $12... and they have more actives in them than the overpriced basic Kylie releases... just sayin'
BLISTEX anyone?? they have a giant range of lip protectors for about $5 or so. The spf one tastes and smells fine. Love the haterade for KylieSkinn ha ha .. I think if we took her name and face off of the brand and threw a random name on it, no one would care or buy the products. What does that tell us, the consumer? Speaking of celebrity brands whatever happened to that Trishas' skincare line?
I agree! It looks nice and I like Chloe Morello, however I want to see James try it cos I have mild rosacea - particularly on my nose - like him! I wanna see if it perfects his skin tone!
I've started using my glycolic acid toner from the ordinary on my arm pits (tmi I really suffered with odour under my arms, regardless of how much I washed), and OH MY GOD!!! I cannot overstate how much this has changed my BO and even excess sweating. I keep it in a spray bottle, and I use it after the shower on my exfoliation days. thank you so much for this recommendation, it's legit life changing!!!
Thank you for mentioning this! I've been struggling with lingering pit odors lately and wondered if there was something more I could be doing. I'll have to pick that product up!
Do you think this would work for really old glycolic acid? I’ve had my bottle for about a year and a half, couldn’t bring myself to throw it out after I decided my skin didn’t like it 😂
@@amurray559 I mean, you should never use any products that are expired haha check the back of the label at the bottom, there should be a little graphic of a pot that says how many months after opening it's good!
Hey James, just wondering what you think of Miranda Kerr’s “kora organics” range and also, what do you think of the sand and sky brand ?! Would LOVE to know your thoughts!😉
As someone with a bit of rosacea too fake tan has never covered it for me BUT it does cover/cancel my hereditary dark under eye so I need so much less concealer!
James, there are green based spray tans. When I did beauty therapy the brand the salon used was green based so you never had that orange tone, which is great for me as an olive tone because other colours look stupid on me
I love listening to ya about skincare.....I REEEEAAAALLLLYYYY LOOOOOOOOVVVVEEEE listening to your exquisite voice for a centering😘your voice is mesmerizing 🤭
Hi James have you heard of the brand The Last Object? They have the best reusable pads because they act like cotton! They’re hard when dry but soft when wet and it’s just a perfect alternative to single use ones!
I'm going to try the Ilia because it feels like I'm on a never ending quest to find a sunscreen that isn't completely incompatible with the whole idea of makeup.
I’m super picky when it comes to sunscreen! I love the new Ilia c beyond Triple serum Sunscreen. It’s easier to use 4/5 drops in the hand and apply. It looks amazing under foundation/skin tints. I think ppl are just so used to doing the 2/3 finger method or slathering on half a bottle of sunscreen their not used something different. And I think ppl forget it’s not JUST a sunscreen, hence the price point. For the bottle, I appreciate it since it’s waterless u don’t over do it.
It’s hard to get off the roller coaster of buying new stuff, trying too much new stuff at once, irritating my skin, getting frustrated until I ignore my skin, and starting over. A week ago my skin looked great. Then I thought hey more is better right? So now it’s red and irritated. 🤦🏻♀️
I used a subtle self tanner mixed in with my face moisturizer last summer to "mask" my ridiculously stubborn hyperpigmentation. Totally worked and I did not turn orange. But it was tricky since I wasn't using a self tanner on my body (never been able to do that without looking streaky), so had to be careful with the amount I used on my face. And I'm using tretinoin now, and I don't think the tan would withstand that. But, a product with a retinol AND a self tanner is intriguing!!
The ilia makeup is probably that texture because it needs to be shook, like vigorously! Haha. I learned that at sephora, I tried it on my hand and was like eww horrible and the worker told me to shake it vigorously and afterwards it perfection. I have 2 different shades for year round and love them. They are so creamy and not pasty at all. They go on white and then the color adjusts and your left with a beautiful dew. I really hope you give it another chance everytime I wear it I'm reminded of how good it is. My skin looks so healthy and youthful.
I'm so glad you said something about the tasting on your lips. I swear to God that bothers me since childhood. Silly story but the guy had a crush on heard me kind of say out loud that my chapstick tastes like lemons. He said to me "you're not supposed to eat it." Fast forward 20 years my husband says the same thing to me 😤 I'm gonna show him this 🤣
I just got the Iilia C Beyond and I am not sure about it. For one, the rep at Sephora told me you only need a few drops, and a few drops isn’t going to be good for sun protection. There is also not a “dry down” - it seems to stay feeling slightly tacky, so I’m wondering how long it’s going to wear. I would image if you touch it or if it comes into contact with clothing or your glasses, it might come off, more than other foundations would. I don’t like the pump bottle because there always seems to be waste, you can never get the last bit out. I get the impression this would be best under another foundation, which kind of defeats the purpose of an all in one product. And, it was kind of pricey….Maybe this would be best for no makeup days when you just want to have something fast and easy…..but I’m going to give it some time, see how it goes.
The only spf lip balm that I’ve ever actually liked is the one from sugar/fresh whatever that brand is. Smells good, doesn’t taste awful, doesn’t burn/dry out my lips, and actually moisturizes. The thought of a lip balm that smells like supergoop unseen sunscreen makes me nauseous.
QUESTION! I’m about to do a new skincare haul cause I almost run out of everything, so I was waiting to restock. I will finally try your faves Aestura cause… DUH?! I’m a sucker for wandering on Stylevana and olive young skincare sections and find new brands oe product to try. Aestura has so many lines and products but I first wanted to ask if you tried anything else from them, other than the lotion that I will be getting! Serums? Moisturizers of other lines? SPF? I will also try a brand you never spoke about, will let you know how their brand is 🥰🥰
James I am currently looking into spray-on sunscreens for re-application over make-up. An example would be Ambre Solaire Over Make-Up Super UV. Can you recommend similar products?
The ILIA serum foundation/Tint you have to apply with a sponge and bounce/tap onto the skin instead of spreading like a usual SPF with your fingers. Like most makeup base products. However, I don't think a skin Tint with high SPF is your go to or look you're after so it makes sense that you don't really like it.
I recently purchased the Ilia Skin Tint SPF 40 and love it. They will match your skin tone for you if you send in pics, which I did. Their recommendation was a perfect match, so I highly recommend letting them help you if you aren't sure.
Try "Thant's so" fake tan and the spf spray aaaand the foundation spray Also can you make a review for Transparent Lab, Acnemy, Thesera and RNW. I love almost all their products and i am 100% you will be in love with them. These products are not that expensive, Just Thesera products ar a bit expensive
the ilya skin tint with the dropper is super shiny and hydrating on my super super dry skin i’m so confused about it being dry for you!!!! also it looks great on my textured and large pore having face… but i use it over a sunscreen as more of a makeup product less for an actual sunscreen so that may be why :D
I have 2 Revolution Skin products and love them . 5 ceramide Moisturiser is better than Cerave , Blemish Salycilic Acid Serum is better than TO's one . Everything I've bought of TIL i have had to return .
Must say James you are looking extra gorgeous.. your skin looks glowy and I hope this is not an insult but you are getting a few greys and it really suits you and makes you look even more handsome (plus I LOVE all of you guys 💜) I'm from you UK and its nice to see a UK beauty person xoxoxoxox
That Ilia sunscreen burns my face every time I use it. It was also pilling and I didn’t use anything else but that product. I almost never get skin irritation with skin care products and I’ve tried many brands but that one doesn’t agree with my skin. Had to discontinue after a few tries.
Completely agree with you. The influx of influencer /celeb skincare products is inundating the market, and it's concerning to see the effects it will have on the environment. So many brands pride themselves on being environmentally conscious (which is awesome!) and yet with the sheer amount of them it's still contributing to overall waste/packaging etc. Fewer influencer launches, more unique products, combined with more minimalist skincare routines would be an excellent change to see from brands worldwide!
Hey James! I'm curious about your thoughts on Clinique's Take the Day Off cleansing balm? I dislike most of Clinique's skincare (outdated, either too basic or potentially damaging), but it's the one balm I keep going back to. Also, I feel like it was one of the first ones on the market when it first came out. What do you think? 🧐
What is with that Ilia pump? People already don't apply enough sunscreen, the last thing we need is a product that makes it harder to get the correct amount. I'm really interested in hearing reviews of the supergoop spf lip balm. I really want to use sunscreen lip balms but most of them taste so bad. 🥴
I had to pause your video when you were talking about the Milk cleansing balm. I am looking for a cleansing balm, but here's the kicker.. i'm allergic to Aloe and it gives me HIVES! like bad. I have a bit of rosacea.on my cheeks and combination skin but everything seems to have fricking ALOE in it, help! I can't even find a witchhazel without it
Hey he probably won't see my message but has he ever reviews Facetheory UK brand? It has been one of my favorites and really cleared my skin so I was wondering I'd he thinks it's good. If anyone knows I would really appreciated it 🥰
I guess I'd rather be orange than see through lol. My legs used to look like I had white tights on, now you can just see purple splotches and every single hair follicle. Orange is better trust me.
I would try the ilia tinted sunscreen I need to add a sunscreen to my routine. I live in Canada and getting enough vitamin d can be an issue so I like to get sun on my arms but not my face 20 min a day sunny warm days.
Im realy interessted in the Sireni Night Mask - this sounds...good. Chloe is one of the very fiew "Old RU-vidrs". So I hope that her products dont disappoint 😮
Just have to say I love your channel! Quick question, I have very rosey cheeks. Like a natural flush. What’s the difference between rosey cheeks and rosacea? I have had people ask me if that’s what it is. I love my rosey cheeks and never need blush so that’s nice. (Also, asking for curiosity not medical advice 🙂)
I don’t know how the Supergoop sunscreen lip balm is but I just got the Sun Bum tinted spf lip balm (spf15) and I really like it. It doesn’t have a nasty taste or smell at all but I don’t know if this is chemical or mineral sunscreen or it isn’t has high in spf as the Supergoop, so… Agave = “Uh-GAHV-ay”
JAMES! As a fellow rosacea experiencer and pale redhead, I would recommend "Eco by Sonya's - FACE TAN WATER" - a great, gentle, gradual tanning facial toner, totally blurs any redness/veins on my face and adds a great glow! One of the top ingredients is aloe vera, honestly such a gentle tanner and totally suitable for sensitive skin compared to usual face tanners... the main purpose of the product is to provide a glow/cover redness; other than that it doesn't have any outstanding benefits.
Blue Agave(uh gah vey) like Tequila homie! If you do happen to read my comment. Finding out you are half mexican, I was 😊. I'm half as well, and honestly in my ignorance I've rarely seen latinos in American British films or TV, I've never traveled outside the US. Would like to hear more about growing up mexican in Britain.
I have a thought about your dislike of self tanners, you have to find one that plays well with your undertone. For me personally I look for a purple blue based tanner for it to pull brown tan on me instead of Umpa Loompa orange. I am white/indian nc35 and I like to smooth out my tone and get a few shades deeper. I also find that my self tan routine is a nice self care thing I do for myself as a mom with 2 toddlers.
Omg I got so excited when you said “smells like playdough”. I feel so seen! I got the Bondi Sands Sweet Dreams moisturizer and my one complaint is that it smells like playdough
I hate that I'm a month late on this but IF YOU SEE THIS, I seriously hope you try the Jack Black SPF lip balm. There's a bunch of flavors and I can't taste the sunscreen at all in them. They're just *so good* and moisturizing, clear thick lip balm.
My skin barrier has been broken for a while now. I have not used any exfoliants or actives for the past 6 weeks and I haven’t seen any improvement with my redness. I’m using just a simple clenser, cerave moisturizer, and occlusive at night and it hasn’t been doing much. If you guys know how to help me let me know
My skin barrier savior is the ceramidin crème by dr jart. Right now it’s a point Perk at Sephora right now and it’s worth every penny. Is super thick but I rub between my hands and pat it on and it also saves my skin every time I fuck up my barrier. I messed up by using a strong retinal and over scrubbing my face when I did elaborate makeup, I didn’t have. Cleansing balm. Everything burned and this was the only thing that rescued me
Cocokind Ceramide Barrier Serum at Target or online/Dr.Jart ceramide line/ La Roche Posay cicaplast b5 baume at local drugstores, Target or Walmart/ Bloomeffects Tulip Nectar/Stratia Liquid Gold/CosRx snail mucin line or any of the other collections they have that address ur specific skin concerns(there are many options!) Good Luck & hope this helps!!!
James has videos dedicated to barrier repair/redness calming product recommendations.. u would just have to search his channel & scroll. Sry I don't kno exact video titles!
I’d only buy the Supergoop lip screen for my dog’s pale nose who loves laying in the sun and constantly burns her nose. Bonus: if she hates the taste, she won’t lick it off
