@@Wakeupgrandowl In 2020, I was still getting carded when trying to buy something alcoholic you can buy at age 18. And sometimes, after seeing my I.D., people felt the need to tell me that they "totally thought I was under 18, haha". And when it dawned on me that they'd thought I was born in ca. 2002, it felt really bizarre to me. Those people were in a way denying my identity as a person whose experienced anything in the last millennium, even if it's just being a newborn. When in actuality ... ... I have clear memories of the late 1980s.
Why is nobody talking about it? It's almost as if they have to do 3 or 4 jobs to pay bills in this economy and government simply robbing us at this point, gas prices, electricity, groceries cost is at an all time high, there's a genocide going on in Palestine, but no what's concerning to the Americans is why is nobody talking about a Hollywood actress being slightly older to play a damn fictional character
I'm so old, when I want to watch something that feels like comfort viewing, I don't even go back to the early 90s films I loved as a child. Instead, I watch stuff from the 70s. I wasn't even conceived in that decade. I'm also so old, apparently, that even though I remember Boy Meets World (and thought Topanga was pretty damn cute), I never knew Girl Meets World was a thing. Too old to even hear of its existence.
I was born in 1990, so really too young to appreciate BMW during its original run, but already an adult by the time GMW came out. I was familiar with BMW, as I saw reruns as an adolescent, but just within the last year or so, I was finally able to watch both series in their entirety, and am currently rewatching GMW.
One of the perks of having kids is getting to watch all the latest shows without admitting you’re watching for yourself. But, when a Girl Meets World happens, you tell everybody…then wait for a Judgy pants to call you out and tell you to watch age appropriate shows. Like I’m about to watch On Golden Pond again
I mean if she went to college when she is 18 thats 3 years. It all depends on the degree she gets. But Topanga and Cory have riley RIGHT after college. So it would meet the same pattern

They'd be pretty young grandparents though. Cory and Topanga were.....maybe ten years older than me, I think, when the show was airing, and I'm 33. So, I mean, sure, it's possible, but it would be unusual.
@@shrekshronk3469 >_> I can assure it is not normal to be a *grandparent* at age 43. It's not unheard of, but most people these days are not grandparents quite that early. These days people usually make it to at least 50 before grandkids come along.

@@shrekshronk3469 I really don't think it is. I went to a college where tons of people married young, meaning a lot of my friends had kids in their 20s, and even still, most of their parents were at least in their 50s by then.
I feel young because I never watched Girl Meets World and I only know about Rowan Blanchard because people used her as a faceclaim on Wattpad and she happens to share a name with me.
If it helps to make you feel old, there are a lot of students at my university born in 2007 and they’re not like child prodigies or anything they’re just regular students at the younger adult range
Unfortunately, many spinoffs shows aren't as well-known or watched. I think Fraser might be the only successful spinoff I can think of. Loved Boy Meets World, never saw a single episode Girl Meets World. Same with "Joey" after Friends.
@@panpolypuff The Jeffersons and Maude were both successful spinoffs of All in the Family, and are both excellent entertainment and time capsules for black and feminist depictions from the 1970s.
Rowan Blanchard is 21. Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel were 19 and 20 playing 18-year-olds so I highly doubt if the show was going and they followed a similar trend that Cory and Topanga would be grandparents lol
Actually weren't they the same age as the characters? In 2000, they both would've been 19-20 (Cory and Topanga) while the actors were also that age, with Ryder being 21. Considering Danielle is the youngest of the trio, she was 19. So they technically did not play 18 year olds, they WERE 18.
The thing is I watched boy meets world when he was re-airing on Disney Channel because I'm a lot younger and then girl meets world came out when I was in college so to me that 30 years from the original show is more like 15 for me
I grew up watching boy meets world and saw them become adults and now riley is an adult and could have kids. I LIVED THROUGH 3 GENERATIONS ALREADY????? 😂
No1 talking about because they dropped the show. Was looking forward to seeing more cameos of the old cast members. They also still look young enough to be in Highschool or college freshmans.
A chance, sure. However I doubt the character would immediately go into that territory, since she was always looking forward into exploring all types of possibilities. Riley was a dreamer, she wanted to see the world before committing to anything.
shes 21, thats still kinda young to be having kids in this day and age. Maybe if she was 25 or so. But ya covid being 2 solid years of our time but feeling like one giant day I think changes things.
I'm not talking about it because I never watched Boy Meets World so I never cared about its sister show. I kind of fell off Disney Channel after they started getting really into live action sitcoms. The last Disney Channel show I voluntarily watched was Wizards of Waverly Place. Everything else my sister was into. These shows are made for a new demographic that just doesn't appeal to me anymore because I've grown up.
Girl Meets World was a missed opportunity and very badly mishandled. It would have went on longer than three seasons and we would’ve actually seen Riley grow up, but we all knew that this had to be handled correctly and it wasn’t.
I'm 41 and I know people who I went to middle school with that have grandbabies. Cory and Topanga were like a year or 2 older than me if I remember correctly. I guess the fact that they could be grandparents isn't shocking enough to be a big deal.
Could be but since she likes to rock the all natural look with armpit hair that can be braided I doubt anybody would be willing to knock her up and make Corey and Topanga grandparents. I however could see Mya being a mom by now making Shawn a grand parent.
Somebody was able to epitomize me feeling old in the best way possible “remember when us kids in the 90s were making fun of the 60s, today they are making fun of the 90s” After reading that I got my annual colonoscopy, yelled at the neighbors to get off my lawn and got A year supply of Rolaids It’s not fun but I have to accept facts.
I don't think enough of us that grew up on BMW cared for the spin off. Gave it a chance, but it didn't have that "it's fun to br a kid" vibe. Wasn't successful. Too late and not the best to be a successful nostalgia bait. So that's why nobody is talking about it.
I doubt it will happen; Ben Savage (Cory) seems to have completely stepped away the BMW franchise and (last I heard) wasn’t going to conventions or podcasts regarding it. Nobody really knows why
Riley would currently be 22 (this post was from a year ago so she was 21 then), I highly doubt she would have kids of her own by now. Just cause Cory and Topanga had her when they were 21/22 doesn’t mean she would have kids at that age.
