With IZ*ONE being the first kpop group i really fell in love with, I very much kept up with the members after disbandment and i could be misremembering, but I swear the websites that like talked about upcoming groups always distinguished between the IZ*ONE member group and Min Heejin's group. If I'm remembering correctly, I feel like it was kinda public knowledge that LE SSERAFIM wasn't NewJeans, but maybe I'm wrong or maybe its sorta both, it was public but they knew most ppl wouldn't know and would still think LE SSERAFIM was Min Heejin's group.

Coming back with the drama! Thanks for the Korean perspective - the random articles I keep getting internationally has been trashing MHJ and lot bts fan girls dragging her. An oldie from Gen 2 times and I've only started listening again to NJs cause they seemed fresh. Didnt know the other groups - just stumbled onto some live performances from illicit / la whatever haha and it was disappointing especially at international stages where you are promoting kpop. The trends unfortunately are sad to see.

Hmm. See, I don’t like the idea of siding with MHJ based off of the alleged mistreatment towards NewJeans and alleged broken promises. Only because that’s just feeding off sympathy, which is exactly what MHJ has been going for. By no means am I brushing any of that off. If BangPD and/or HYBE as a whole does all that pettiness, I agree it’s wrong. However, from a business standpoint, MHJ plans do/did not follow proper and legal business protocols. That’s where I do not side with her. Then there’s the whole HYBE debuting groups like a factory. Ehh. I mean, I can see that, but looking at the whole picture, HYBE is big af. Lol. Other labels have subsidiaries, but HYBE (the parent company) has 7. It’s going to look like a lot when really it’s just each child (the labels within HYBE) has debuted one group each. This is just my viewpoint. Also, I used “alleged” just for legal purposes because ya girl is not trying to get sued. Hahah 😂

bangpd gave mhj everything she wanted. she was paid more than the ceo of hybe. her stock option package is HUGE. it will make her a multi millionaire many times over. they also almost gave her ultimate control of everything going on at ador. she had the power to do anything she wanted/needed. he wanted her to be successful because if she;s successful, hes successful. because she got petty about the order of gg debuting, she started to formulate a plan to get ador out from under hybe. she was doing it in a very shady, potentially illegal way. bangpd started to see what she was doing and started to look at her sideways and obviously wanted to stop her plans. her press conference was crazy. she looked crazy. i think people in the west would look at it as a really bad performance and she would not be taken seriously. so thats why a lot of us dismiss her and of course understand why hybe would want to get rid of her. unfortunately they uncovered her plan too early. so while the courts agreed she was doing shady things to get control of ador, she hadnt done any of the illegal stuff yet. so they cant fire her yet. im sure they will appeal and this will drag on for a long time before its resolved. in the end she really screwed herself because now she has absolutely no control and everything she does will have to be approved. she'll be watched super closely and in the end she'll probably be fired and end up disgraced in the industry because who would trust to work with her in the future?

I’m glad you’re back!! TBH I stopped following the kpop culture a few years ago. I’m not familiar with any of the newer groups. My favorite group is KARD. I’ve listened to them since their debut and enjoy all of their music. I’ve seen them a few times when they’ve come to the US. One newer group I do enjoy is XG. I fell in love with them through their documentary series and enjoy their music and would love to see their performance live one day.
