Don Williams Married to the same woman for over fifty years, never in trouble with the law, a stoner or drunk, Don is almost unique in the music business. Not only do I love his music, I admire the MAN. Don brings a LOT to the table. He has written wonderful lyrics, and his voice has soothed millions, You Were There Best In The Music Industry. Gotta love this guy.. R.I.P Don Williams
" Oh And if you see Burt Reynolds, would you shake his hand for me, and tell old Burt I've seen all his movies. Well i hope you make some big time, i hope your dreams come true. But if Hollywood don't need you, honey i still do"! What a classic song and sweet sweet memories from Don Williams.
Man I remember when this song came out! Don Williams had 17 number one hits, 42 Top 10 singles and a voice as smooth as silk! One of the most underrated artist ever... Thanks DON RIP
I grew up listening to Don and Bob. That was when the world was a bit at peace. There will never be another Don Williams in country music. His voice and instrumentals is flawless and His lyrics out of this world. Rest In Power Don and thanks for living such a legacy for us to cherish
And if it’s not too much Don, could you please the Snowman that I said thanks for the great acting and songs. Oh and uh ps. Please tell Jackie Gleason we miss him too. The chase goes on.
God m working in the hospital, most people are there are the elders. So after finishing my tasks I play Don Williams songs n guess what they will have a beautiful sleep n I will have a beautiful night as well ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I just want to go back to the 1980s, working on an old Peterbilt with my dear old dad in his garage. Drinkin coffee with his ol’ truck driving buddies and hearing this on a country music station that actually played country. No cell phones, no social media, no divisive politics. They truly were “the good ol’ days”
That's right. If we could. I came up around trucking in the 70's. When dad was an O/O and running to CA. I still remember his KW K100A, his 352 Pete, and 69 F model V8 Mack. I'd go back and stay if I could.
He was one of a kind, when people can go back to something they first heard 30 years ago, and it is still as touching as it was then. Now brothers and sisters.....That's Magic. :)
Maxwell Mann Oddly I saw in concert about 2 yrs ago. He sounds almost the exactly the same as he did 35 yrs ago. His slow easy singing didn't ruin his voice box.
Kevin Yiaile I just discovered Don Williams and it sure is good music! Simple, top notch production, well-meaning without being corny! It's nice growing up with cool albums isn't it?
Another one of Don Williams classic hits. And nobody else can sing it the way he does. What a beautiful voice God blessed him with. I hope he rest in peace
I don't know what it is about Don Williams but his voice is so gentle and calming. I love his music and his singing. I still put my babies to sleep listening to Don Williams. It's just something about his music that soothes the soul and eases the mind
Well you know I'm not much good at writin' letters So I gave up and decided that I'd call Now there's really not much news to tell you Things back here they never change at all It snowed today, it's cold here for November But I hear the weather's warm out there Oh, and if you see Burt Reynolds would you shake his hand for me And tell ol' Burt I've seen all his movies Well, I hope you make for big time, I hope your dreams come true But if Hollywood don't need you, honey, I still do Last night I drove the truck to Amarillo Some friends and I we had a laugh or two But lately we don't cut up like we used to 'Cause all that I can think about is you I know this is what you've always wanted But I know now that all I want is you So if you see Burt Reynolds would you shake his hand for me And tell ol' Burt I've seen all his movies Well, I hope you make for big time, I hope your dreams come true But if Hollywood don't need you, honey, I still do If Hollywood don't need you, honey, I still do
Don u gave me so much comfort in my life and still do. I loved seeing u in concert in 2001 at grand casino. It made my life. R.I.P gentle giant. I love u.
i'd love to know this man on a personal level, famous or not. given the things he writes and sings about , he'd almost have to be a real down to earth good hearted person somebody you'd want to call friend. something the world seems to have a very short supply of these days.
He is one of my all time favorites. I went to a concert in his later years. It was one of the best concerts, it was like he was singing just for me. I loved it.
I grew up poor as HELL! I had a small radio that played tapes. I stole 3 tapes from my grandma thank God it was 3 Don Williams. I grew up listening to this man his voice his stories in his music. A true legend!
This song always reminds me of my late brother who introduced me to Don Williams.........sometimes I just find my self shedding tears when I listen to Don Williams, indeed he was a gentle giant

Rest In Peace , to one of my country hero’s . I grew up listening to you and a few others , I’m 46 and playing this song to my 6month son relax him . It works every time
From my childhood to teenage, from teenage to now you stay my best country singer. Your voice is peaceful to our soul, hommage to my father through whom i Know you and discovered your songs.
Just one of the best country songs I've ever heard. It's so amazing and so precious. Rest in peace Don and thank you for your beautiful music. We'll always gonna need you.
Don Williams reminds me of my mother. My mother died right there in front of me with Don Williams playing. I was so sad. Life hasn't always gone that good for me. What I mean is I try and try and really get nowhere at all, sure some things are my fault but not all, I do try. This song is my mother telling me I hope your dreams come true and if they don't your still important to me. Love ya mom! I'm sorry I turned out to be a loser in life.
I regret having never seen him in concert. I loved him above any other Nashville musician. He had and always will have the smoothest and sweetest voice. He could soothe any soul.
This song me and Grandma will hear all the time grandma loved me no matter what she will always be in my ❤️ and memories r.i.p lazarita quintana I miss u so much I'll see u in heaven one and I hope ur waiting with open arms miss u
RIP Don - we love you! Heidi Halmer, Vienna
If there is something I pray for is to meet you in heaven the word legend does not even start to describe who you are. I will miss you Don I know ur making beautiful music with the angels
Today is March 6. It was on this day 30 years ago that a new cable/satellite station called Country Music Television signed on the air. It is now known as CMT. This was the #1 Country & Western song in the USA at that time.
Very refreshing and relaxing,I think I’m gonna have me a tall glass of wine 🍷 to complete the picture 🙏🏾Thank You,You Tube for making my day enjoyable.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🤣🤣🤣
I was so lucky to have seen Don Williams a few years ago in a concert in Washington state. He didn’t come up here very often. He was soft-spoken, unassuming, and absolutely wonderful to listen to. I was shocked and saddened at his passing. And now old Burt is gone, too. RIP both of you. 😢
I would’ve love to have seen don in concert and I would’ve loved to have meet Burt Reynolds then I could’ve seen my favorite singer and my favorite actor! RIP to both legends!
great song from a living legend, a great singer/songwriter of Country Music. it doesn't get any better than Don Williams. thanks for sharing... COA ...
Don Williams the only big time stars with the balls to tell it like it is "they committed murder down on music row". I've loved this song from the first time I heard it and even though I only heard it on radio once, I was cheering my heart out when it won every award in the appropriate categorie on the CMA Thank you fellas for telling it like it is..
