To be honest his life backstory is sad, his son got blown up in a terrorist attack, he was feeling betrayed by the nation he fought for (Regular Army) and only wanted to conquer the world to fight what he thought was corrupt. And then betrayed by aliens and corporations and was sidelined until last Metal Slug Game, I can say he is a tragic villain who just lives long enough to see himself be the villain. At least his men really loves him as a general and to be honest I would still die fighting for a general like him, he seems like a nice guy to be honest always getting unlucky lol... He is just bad because the game told you he is bad to be honest.

i don't know much about this, it wasn't soo easy to defeat all of his armys on all metal slugs games for the first time xd. (i mean whit out dying playing for the first time)
I still like General Morden even if the whole MS series is just one big humiliation conga for him. He is determined and never gives up despite whatever setbacks he encounters.
@@Yoruharu hrmmmm wuh........aight I think I might wanna take a look at that........ gimme a hint on which one I should......ahem...... *Research* .......
@@MicheleDelGiudice-mykys it means that he might steal some of those anomalies that the foundation has contained and weaponize them… That’s unless he gets to hear about 096
@@MicheleDelGiudice-mykys random? RANDOM?! This game had supernatural enemies, tanks and mechs and robots that are technically impossible to recreate, and aliens that are somehow beaten by guns, and you call it random? lmao
@@the8bitclicker_193? So did/does many other media? The only supernatural stuff this franchise has is aliens (that get normalized), time travel, and a few monsters/fantasy creatures. A lot of other franchise have that (which metal slug is parodying) but I don't immediately think of SCP, they have to have more paranormal and secret/man in black organizations. Also, there's nothing anomalous in machines if they make sense in their world, it's like saying that iron man is anomalous because uses advanced sci-fi like technology that we irl can't explain. Also also, what's anomalous about aliens getting beaten by normal firepower? Isn't it the other way around? If you think that anything that comes outside from our planet doesn't follow the normal laws of physics, then I think you don't know what normality means.
*DONALD MORDEN IN THE ORIGINAL METAL SLUG:* Dr. Eggman in the original Sonic games, an imposing man leading a threatening army. *DONALD MORDEN IN METAL SLUG 2-6:* Dr. Eggman after losing control of the Eldritch Abomination he tried to control, ultimately either becoming a joke or a teeth-clenched ally of the heroes. *DONALD MORDEN IN METAL SLUG 7:* Dr. Eggman in Sonic Colors, having retained his spot as the big bad but still somewhat comical.
I always had the theory that what we saw getting crushed there was a decoy clone of Morden and the martians took the original with them when they escaped in the damaged mother ship. That's why in metal slug 3 we see him captured and the rebel army being guided by a martian disguised as him.
Funny thing it's not even like he's incompetent. But he's a normal human compared to the aliens/demons whatever you go up against. It's his ability to constantly keep coming back with a huge army of loyal soldiers at his command that makes him a persistent problem though.
I feel bad for General Morden, he just could not accept his losses, especially the death tragic on his family. That's what changes him, if the Regular Army could undo Morden's past, that would be great peace forever.
@Danial Syahiran But inside of him, there's a little of what's left of his former self, overwhelmed by hatred. I can imagine a fan manga: Morden was used to be happy, when his wife and daughter were perfectly fine before the war, his daughter was holding her favourite doll. But everything changes when he woke up, back to reality and it was just a dream, like everything was stolen. Then a rebel soldier knock on his door and report that the preparations are ready, and he left the office. But in the office, there was the doll which his daughter had and he's keeping it all the time.
I still amazed whit the fact that he survivef explosions, the void of space, load of bullets, fall from great highths and begin tortured for so long and keep comming for the next game just for more pain.
Donald Morden ... is so pathetic that not even together with his future soldiers or aliens they beat just 6 soldiers (who rarely use tanks and weapons other than their pistols / magnuns) ... although at least it wasn't that bad when turned into a tender girl of almost 18 years ... a comical ending for the only general who lost only to a small platoon or squad ...
Really wonder how is he able to command respect an authority, especially in the spin off games like attack, assault, etc. (Metal slug 3D really is a cursed game)
11:37 Morden: I Have This DVD, We Can Watch So Many Movies! Rebel Soldiers: YAAAY!!!! DVD: **Blows Up** Rebel Soldiers: AAAAAA!!! Allen O'neil: What The Hell? Morden: NO, THE MOVIES, IT'S ALL GONE, NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
I don't understand how or why Morden is still allying with the Mars People, even though they just torture him a couple of times already. Maybe he thought it was all just a joke? Or maybe he was brainwashed?... Also, the first battle in the vid is a reference to the movie, "Independence Day". It's the epic scene where this pilot enters through the beam, yelling "Hello, boys! I'm baaaaack!" And then, you know the rest.
If we could still see this unusual bad guy in Metal Slug 8 Metal Slug 6 is a pretty twist and the scene in MS3 that his soldier fought to save him in the alien territory is the pinnacle moment in the whole series just love his animation and laughter
I saw the Pretty Morden reanimated version of this compilation first and am genuinely shocked that he gets the exact same treatment in the actual games that he/she did in the edits
