Thank you for the wonderful video. Don has helped inspire many including myself with the attention to detail and knowledge around Dahlias. I learned lots and thanks again. RIP Don may heaven be a world full of Dahlias
I never thought that I would watch a 30 minute video of growing Dahlia's. It was so interesting. Thank you so much for the information on how to grow these beautiful plants.
RIP Don...A truly lovely man who passed peacefully away in his sleep 2 nights ago. My sincerest condolences go out to his family....a legend of a Dahlia raiser who will be sadly missed.
@@deanwhitehead1483 Yes it would indeed....someone will I'm sure, and if I get any decent seedlings, then I will certainly do that if it's not done before....
Oh how sad the Dahlia World lost such a wonderful man! I hope someone took care of his plants after he passed on his journey. I would hate to think that all those beautiful plants no longer exist
JAG sixtyfive , sad indeed. I got goosebumps when the final picture of him with his Dahlia's showed on my screen. With out knowing he'd passed until seeing your post. May the lord rest his soul. He will grow even more beautiful flowers in heaven.
Many Thanks Donald for sharing so freely the knowledge and experience you have gained over many years, your generosity surpasses your outstanding blooms.
We miss Don very much...I'm doing my level best to keep as many of his raised varieties going as I possibly can...Rossendale Heidi/Lottie/Jojo/Roxy/Hero/Natasha/Peach will all be grown on my plots, to try to keep his memory and legacy going.....
I wish I lived closer I would help. But I'm in America so I don't think any of his plants could be sent to me to stay alive. I would be more than happy to pay for shipping of the dahlia bulbs instead of seeing them go to a dump
Thank you so much for filming this and editing it. This took a lot of time and must have been a labor of love. I'm shocked that you only have 500 subscribers you deserve more. I just subscribed and I will be watching and sharing this video. Once again thank you so very very much. I am fascinated with people who have a passion to make their species of flower better and this gentleman always had a reason to get up in the morning. Many of us don't have a reason to get up in the morning and to get out of bed. I was just wondering how old he was because I have a feeling all the work he did kept him alive a lot longer than most retired people
Well done! This came up while I had the auto play on. I didn't want to watch a 30 minute video on RU-vid. Frankly, I couldn't tear myself away. I watched the entire video. It has been quite informative as well as entertaining. Thank you.
This was my first year of dahlias so just looking for tips loved this video a labour of love and the perfection of his plants . Sad to see he had passed away but fair enjoyed him sharing his knowledge .
I'm so sorry I did not realize that Don passed away I just started to read the comments when I got the thumbs up I'm so sorry! He's left a lot of information for all of us here on RU-vid
Wow, so beautiful dahlia, always love dahlia flowers its been one of my favorite they are colorful and last a lot longer on vase for display. What sort of plant food do you feed them? Thank you for sharing your beautiful dahlia flowers!
I love this! I started a dahlia for the first time this year and am excited to see it flower. I topped it yesterday and it had several blooms starting so it should be in full flower here soon.
These are not in somebody's backyard these are plots of ground that don't go to waste and grow weeds. So there's no storage area to keep things that are necessary to grow these dahlias. They're not a distraction in the neighborhood. They don't junk up the neighborhood they're just using plots of ground that would just be growing weeds
