Donald Usher, US Park Police Pilot who rescued survivors on the Air Florida Flight 90 Part 1 of 4 

On January 13, 1982, a short time after Air Florida Flight 90 took off from National Airport, the plane lost altitude and crashed into the 14th Street bridge, sending all passengers into the icy waters of the Potomac River.
Donald Usher, pilot and Gene Windsor, a paramedic, both with the US Park Police, flew Eagle One to the crash site with minimal rescue gear and little information about the situation. This is part 1 of a 4 part series of Donald Usher's first-hand account of the rescue.
